Shaking things up

Decided to bring back my first ever OC that I created back in 2011 with a complete redesign. (The only things I kept was the hair covering one eye, and her pointed ears)

Sam is a half Oni/human hybrid, having a human father and Oni mother. Unlike Lloyd (a fellow Oni hybrid), her Oni blood impacts her physically. Her extremities have become pitch black, along with the tips of her ears and the left side of her face. Due to her Oni heritage, humans tend to be weary of her. And her human blood is hated by the Oni.

Personality wise, she is extremely introverted and shy. Sam prefers to stick to herself, only ever creating a scene when cornered. But don't let her soft spoken side fool you into completely lowering your guard. This lady is deadly, trained for infiltration and assassination. Like other Oni, she can use shadows to her advantage. Turning shadows into solid items or tendrils to destroy/carry objects and people. (Of course, she prefers to avoid any conflicts, so the shadow manipulation is a last resort.)

In her original story, Sam was the adopted daughter of Garmadon. I have since changed this in order to create her own family and backstory.

Some things about Sam's story (In bullet point form)

Born and raised in the underworld, hidden away from everyone else. Both her and her mother (Musani) were shunned by the Oni population, and were feared by the humans.

Sam was given the last name of her father, who continues to live in Ninjago city. His exact location is unknown, not wanting to be hunted down by the Oni for "corrupting" one of their own.

Ever since she was little, Sam was taught how to pass as a human when visiting the overworld. The parts of her body that cannot be changed are hidden beneath her clothing or long hairstyles.

Her mother also taught her the art of non-lethal fighting, not wanting her daughter to kill anyone and feel that guilt.

Raised during the time of Garmadon's rule of the underworld, and grew up idolizing him. Her mother, however, wasn't a fan of the Lord of Darkness. She believed that he gave the Oni an even worse name than they already had.

She was always fascinated in where the skeletons disappeared to during their raids, and eventually concocted a plan to figure it out.

During one of the Skeleton army's attacks upon the overworld, Sam snuck aboard one of the vehicles. She went unnoticed, and planned to jump back on-board before things were over.

Unfortunately, while exploring Ninjago, Sam was left behind by the group she travelled with. She never learned how to traverse between worlds like her mother did, so she was pretty much stuck in this world she didn't know.

Eventually, she gets confronted due to a huge misunderstanding. She had no idea how to act in the overworld, and her fear of the unknown caused her to lash out at the ninja while trying to escape the city. Because of that attack, she became an unintended enemy of the ninja, constantly trying to push them away and hide.

Nya was the first to notice the other girl's hesitation to fight, and wanted to reach out before something terrible could happen. So she approached Sam one day without the rest of the group around. Turns out, the girls get along rather well, and eventually Nya convinces the ninja to leave Sam alone.
