Headcanon dump - Roy

Backstory:

his infamous sunglasses are a hand me down from his late mother, he started wearing them when he got bullied for his heterochromia

He got inspired to get strong from watching several action films and wrestling

he's the most thug looking of the clan, Morton may be strong but he isn't quite as intimidating

He developed bullying as a method of coping with his insecurities - the "gay" shell, weird sunglasses from his mom, having alopecia. Nobody had listened to him when he was well behaved, so he learned that aggression would help

Personality:

He's street smart, but not so book smart or close the fridge or it will melt smart. He has good practical knowledge but he's not often listened to, leading up to many "i told you so bruh!"

He cares about the vulnerable, that was his main motivation in becoming the Roy we know today. He doesn't want the things that have happened to him to happen to others, though he may get too aggresive

He's the second most social koopaling, after Larry

He does a lot of things for the fun of it - but unlike Lemmy he respects boundaries

he's a natural party guy - his mere presence seems to manifest friends

he hates lying, and refuses to partake in missions that force him to forge friendships. But he's totally cool with killing!

He looves bullying others, poking fun at them, criticizing them, striving them to get better. His remarks may be unfiltered and hurtful, but he has your best intentions

Surprisingly he's very easy going, happy to do almost anything his siblings blab about. As long as he can show he's the best one, that's all that matters! Painting claws, playing video games, picking up music samples for Larry - everything is a competition, and he's intending to win

Interests/clan role

he's the executive of the Koopaling clan. His best suit is dirty work, crime, assassinations, theft, etc. If it involves wrecking shit and not talking, he's the first to line up!

His weapon of choice are his fists, but unfortunately life would be too beautiful if everything could be solved with a well aimed hit in the face. So technically speaking he doesn't have a weapon of choice, using whatever he has laying around. He once used a fridge, I'm dead serious that he'll use ANYTHING for combat

His magic specialization are weapons of all kinds. He's the most combative of the clan, and his magic reflects it

His weakness is his do first think later approach. He usually needs someone more intellectual paired up with him to correctly direct his raw strength. Too bad his best friend is Morton!

He enjoys anything gang or mafia or yakuza relates. Treats his affiliation with the Koopaling clan as his "gang", although he's banned from calling them that.

He also loves motorcycles and tinkering with them/other vehicles.

Usually he's the one piloting the airships, because he's the only one who actually enjoys sitting for two hours with a completely clear sky

Relationships

His absolute ride or die is Morton. He's young enough for Roy to act like a cool big brother™, while also not being "whiny" like Larry or Junior.

Morton suffers from Broca's aphasia, a disorder where he's capable of thinking normally, but struggles with actually speaking properly. Roy acts like a translator for him, the two having such a close bond that they can understand each other without words.

He's the most critical of Ludwig, the self-proclaimed clan leader. Before Ludwig had hit puberty properly, Roy was actually the one who was doing the leading. However, it's not that he doesn't like him - quite the opposite, he can feel that Ludwig is shutting down his emotions and that his work ethic more resembles an addiction rather than a normal ambitious person and simply is worried

He struggles to get along with Lemmy, vary of his behavior, especially after the poker incidents. He helps set the boundaries against him, being one of few that Lemmy actually respects.

He's also close to Wendy - his only sister. As he grows more comfortable with his alternative fashion sense, he's one of few who understands how it's like to live looking "weird" (Wendy has alopecia, Roy has heterochromia)

He sometimes acts like a babysitter towards Larry, trying to put off some of the load Ludwig has

He also likes being around Iggy, teaching him to defend himself or how to survive social outings. Besides, they both love chain chomps

Appearance

he's the second most buff clan member, after Morton. And he's proud, not jealous!

He wears the royal emblem as a bandana around one of his arms

He often wears bandanas on his head for sun protection as he targets Desertland

He's the second tallest, after Iggy

He wears motorcycle gloves, adjusted for his claws

If he's constantly on missions, he may get a tan. However it is not permanent because koopas shed like any other reptile, which he's disappointed in

his fashion sense resembles an amalgamation of all the action and mafia movies he had watched, with grunge influences. Very cool very badass (/lh)

He's the most confident koopaling, unlike Lemmy and Ludwig he doesn't have to pretend, which is visible in both his stature and body language

He only ever takes off his sunglasses when he completely trusts someone

his blue-brown eyes represent that he gets along with all of his siblings to some degree. He's more reasonable of the group, and even if he has some problems with others he still can enjoy their company, not afraid of setting boundaries whenever needed.

Koopa Radio AU - general information

Darklands used to be a faction of the Mushroom Kingdom region, back when Mushroom Kingdom was called Mushroomland, or Toadstooland if we want to be specific, along with Grassland, Desertland, Waterland, Giantland, Skyland, Iceland and Pipeland. However, one day the Darkland had gained autonomy (got estranged), setting up the most dangerous castle for koopas to occupy safely.

However, this doesn't mean that they can't live in the other parts of the region, just that the Darklands are the only best option. Despite their mixed reputation, they generally lived in peace. King Bowser Von Koopa wasn't buying that generous offer however, and decided to try to convince Princess Peach Toadstool to maybe not treat his castle and his kind as some sort of dangerous monsters.

He thought that it worked. Not just that - he thought that he was developing something more with the Toadstool princess, her working day and night to ensure the safety of the region, her kind heart, her sweet smile, it was all getting to him. And it seems to have gotten into her too.

However, a tragedy struck. Princess Peach got pregnant from their seemingly blooming relationship, and suddenly had cut ties. It was all a SHAM. She rejected him, disowned their child, and doubled down on the racist "safety measures", all of his hard work to initially soften down the tension, perhaps even develop something new and pure, free of prejudices, in ruin.

The two sides are now at odds with each other, stuck in a broken loop of King Bowser seeing how fake she was, getting heartbroken and angry, getting reckless, and Princess Peach using it as an excuse to label his kind as nothing more than monsters, intensifying "safety measures", breaking Bowser's heart again and angering him. Over. And over.

In amidst of such tensions, Bowser's beloved brother and scientist Mortimer Von Koopa Sr., or "Bruce", had disappeared, pronounced dead but it never quite clicked right for the King, already wary of his once-life partner.

Mortimer's children had been scattered amongst different foster care systems. Bowser didn't even knew he was an uncle, reasonably so - Bruce was aware of the tensions, so he ensured that his family was as private as possible. However, his magic proficiency and genius got inherited by them which had help Bowser uncover their identities, one by one.

First one was a young prodigy, whose mere presence made Bruce's wand react in the old magic store. A VERY talkative boy with unruly prussian blue hair and a misplaced fang that he was mocked for, unaware that his magic was so powerful to cause it

The next two were a pair of hooligans, causing a level 5 avalanche merely by goofing around in Pipeland. The accident had hurt the younger one, making him develop aphasia, however the duo got even closer. Their strength, both in magic and friendship knows no bounds, even if they may not know how to use it correctly.

The next one was actually a girl. By accident she had frozen the entire capital of Waterland, just wanting to create an ice mirror. She was rude and cold, tired of being overlooked, ensuring that her fashion and confidence stands out. Even she had no idea how much she was underestimating herself.

The next boy was known for being the "aggressive" one. He got discovered during a meltdown, that had burnt a quarter of Grassland forests..in the whole country.

His best friend had begged to join to ensure he's safe, and reluctantly the group had agreed, despite the mild annoyance of a civilian in the castle, the tall green haired boy felt his best with him present. The mere fact that in all of the castle safety measures, the short and might kid managed to sneak by without any magic, purely relying on wit and agility, made him count as a valuable asset. He had proven himself to stay, truly shining amongst others.

The last one had it the worst. He got sent all the way back to the now Mushroom Kingdom back when he was a toddler. To him that was his normal, and until King Bowser had discovered him, he was convinced he was just some sort of weird Yoshi that could talk. He accidentally had stopped time in his school, tapping to the rhythm of his phone radio, unaware he had any magic. In the new environment, he's striving to become more and more like who he truly is - a koopa, and a powerful one. He could work on his work ethic a little, though..

All seven of them had formed a clan, initially by the two hooligans and the bluehead. Initially, Roy was the one leading the group, but with age and puberty, the small yapper had matured into being a doer. Ludwig still has an "I'm better than you" attitude, but at least it's well deserved now..

In spite of the pains Bowser had witnessed and participated in, his newfound family is stronger than ever. His biggest fear was forcing Bowser Jr. to be raised alone, without a "mom", and it have had been answered in the form of the Koopaling clan, which he can't get thankful enough for. He loves all of his children, treating all eight of them as a blessing

Headcanon dump - Lemmy

Age: 21

He's the second oldest, but has a permament baby face

He can actually get his eyes to look "normal", but if you see him with a perfectly normal stare, you're pretty much dead

His favourite way to mess with people is to pick up things with his longer tail, being one of few koopas agile enough to treat their tail like a bonus limb

Larry often complains about Lemmy not wearing his royal badge - however he is wearing it as a detailed kandi bracelet. it even glows in the dark!

His specialization are illusions, tricks, mind games of all flavors, from playful to sinister. He can make them out of fire, ice, air - whatever fits the aesthetic!

his weapon of choice is anything small and fast, just like him. throwing knives, shurikens..oh, and explosives for the shock effect!

People may be scared of Ludwig, but he's the real koopaling you should watch out for - at least Ludwig isn't manipulative and stirring the pot for the fun of it!

He's extremely agile, to the point that he used to move around on a ball as a child (smb3 reference), treating normal walking as too boring

his birthday is on December 24th, but he celebrates it at a different time - not wanting to throw a rave during christmas

Speaking of raves, his sense of fashion resembles a scene kid with clowncore elements. Belts layered with belts, beaded bracelets, primary palette or a whole rainbow, or sometimes monochrome in a funky way. He wants to always grab your attention, regardless if it's positive or negative.

He and Iggy are joined by the hip (not literally). Despite not being exactly twins, the chaos brings them immense joy so they naturally stick together.

Lemmy is like a protector of Iggy, sometimes may get overly attatched. It developed naturally, even before Iggy got a proper autism diagnosis.

Lemmy is an empath, and is happy to exploit it. If he finds there's anything going on he'll do everything to figure out what's going on, often catching on the signs even before the person he's checking on

Lemmy's alignment is chaotic neutral

Many people complain to Ludwig about Lemmy slacking off - but, unlike Larry, his actions are deliberate, and he always reports on intel or other valuable stuff to him

arguably, Lemmy has the most autonomy within the koopaling clan - he's mature and powerful enough to venture out of Ludwig's instructions, with mutual trust that Lemmy will still do the job in his unconventional way

He often crawls onto his taller siblings during missions

His favorite food is chocolate

He loves poker, and loves cheating in poker even more. He actually got the clan in trouble a few times because he kept winning a little too much

His favorite missions are about gathering intel - so much so he does it outside of his job, usually at the expense of the koopalings

He wears a mohawk with a rat tail that he keeps growing out, so he has an excuse that he "haven't damaged ALL of his hair
