Lakota Sioux In "Pine Ridge & Standing Rock Reservations" In South Dakota Freezing To Death, Donations Needed Urgently!

Hello All, I usually don't make blog posts like this here at "Atrayo's Oracle". However since I have supported in my own small way the non profit "Changing Winds" (Link) in past "Winter Warmth Fund Drives". I was very concerned when I received an email alert from their Director of Changing Winds "Ms. Christine Rose" of one casualty thus far with more expected to happen on Sioux reservation lands. Here's is an article dated Feb. 6th 2014 of a recent fatality at the Standing Rock Reservation as reported by the staff at "Indian Country Total Media Network". A Standing Rock Sioux member died from hypothermia, authorities believe, due to lack of heat during a propane shortage that recently prompted the tribe to declare a state of emergency. Nearly 90 percent of the Standing Rock Sioux Reservation’s residents use propane to heat their homes, reported KFYRTV.com.

Well, it's been a while since Changing Winds put out a call for an urgent situation.  Click Here for a story about how this situation is effecting the Standing Rock Reservation in South Dakota, and the same is true for Pine Ridge  We have received a request from Pine Ridge to send electric heaters.

Right now the heating situation on the reservations in SD  can be called DIRE.  It has been in tens and more below freezing for much of this winter and although there has not been a lot of snow there, there has been too much in other areas to get the propane trucks out to SD.  This has resulted in a shortage and much higher prices for propane fuel, which heats the reservations homes. 

Beyond that, for the last 8 years, Citgo has given a heating fuel grant to Pine Ridge, and so far that grant has not arrived.  It usually arrives in November.  While Citgo denies they are cutting the reservations off, they have promised me a statement all week, which has never arrived.  Clearly they do not want any media involved.

The reservations are now faced with only about $200 per household for heat for the remainder of the winter.  The only affordable answer is electric heaters.

As you may know, I was a reporter for Native Sun in Rapid City and currently for Indian Country Today.  I have been trying to get an answer from Citgo for one week, and I don't want to wait any longer just to get the story. Let's get some heat out there!!!

Changing Winds still maintains the 501 C 3 tax deductible status, and we did receive a few donations this winter enabling Changing Winds to purchase brand new shoes, socks and underwear for 100 kids.  We also purchased resources for the BEAR Program, a teen run anti-suicide group in Pine Ridge.  With what we have left, we will also be purchase heaters.  We have $250 left, which will not go far.  Want to help out?

Jewels of Truth Statement: "To Be Reborn Once More With God"

Hello All, A Happy Blessed Easter to all Christians around the globe. Besides a hearty celebration of Passover that will be concluding in two days for the Jews. Today's "Jewels of Truth" spiritual wisdom statement is on the topic of "Being". As in a Divine or Spiritual Being as a spiritual form of the soul itself. This statement is #1705 in the series written about eleven days ago or so originally. Today's topic merely focuses on Being hood as an entity of the "Holy Spirit" we all are in a macro sense belong in origin to and with God. No matter our faith tradition on this Earth be it spiritual, religious, or a divine inspired philosophy. We are with God and God is with us. Whether there be sanctified intercessors as avatars or prophets in a faith tradition we are all one in the essence of God himself. So please enjoy in reflecting on today's topic since in truth I didn't write it in reminder of the famous English playwright "Shakespeare". It just accidentally happened that way in regarding of the phrase of "To Be" in all innocence. Still it doesn't detract in the least as you'll soon find out with this spiritual wisdom statement. Many more have given plausible answers and others yet still have remained clueless in their responses. Our existence can be a blessing or a curse depending on how we treat our perceptions. By how we live in our shared environments on this planet Earth. The predominant classical response is varied but for simplicities sake we came "To Be" once more. The "I Am" wanted "To Be" once more in Creation as a whole expression of life plural. In such a being that it may come to know itself / himself / herself through its fellow creations represented in the multiplicity of the totality of life itself. "To Be" the "I Am" is the simplest answer. Yet "To Be" the "I Am" we are not the whole expression known as God(dess) in humanity alone. We are just a spiritual speck of the whole essence of God. So in order to rejoin with the whole "I Am that I Am" as revealed to the "Prophet Moses" peace be upon him. We must seek like elements of his benevolent almighty "Divine Will". According to his majestic and generous life affirming role to remind us of his eternal glory in truth. We who adore God by the holy sanctity of such a timeless truth must ensure for all generations to follow. To facilitate such a beauty for the sake of developing past our ill conceived fragmented human identities alone as living eternal souls. So as to recall our supreme unity with the Divine totality of it all in the whole "I Am" in order "To Be" again. The best recourse we can use "To Be" again is to express our purest nature as unconditional Love itself in its truest essence. So we Love in dignity one another, we serve respectfully one another within the limits of our human mortality. We continue to become self-aware in compassionate understanding of good and of evil in the world. We seek wisdom and knowledge to live fuller lives in order to better ourselves as we each individually and collectively see fit. We harm no one, especially ourselves in the course of our existence as mortal beings. We continue to worship God(dess) by whatever faith tradition that gives us the most joy and sustenance as living people and as truly dynamic souls in God. By these few ideals we welcome our chances to promote a richer environment for the willing that seek to live in harmony with the "I Am that I Am". Any rules, regulations, laws, and by laws are only meant as a means to find such an expression for an optimal function of communal or societal peace in an imperfect world. Self policing or discipline is a necessary practice in order to enshrine a safer place for all with restraint for the agents of justice. Ecological Infrastructure Concept: "Reservoir Replenishment Aqueduct System" (RRAS)

Hello All, Originally this concept was meant to be shared back in March of last month. However due to a family emergency as stated in a prior entry it was pushed back until today. This concept of the "Reservoir Replenishment Aqueduct System" has its genesis because of nearly a year long dilemma affecting the State of Florida's "Lake Okeechobee". Whereby as Florida's largest fresh water lake its more recent higher water tables has subsequently caused the "Army Corps of Engineers" to authorize large water discharges. To the eastern and western flanks as dam outlets of "Lake Okeechobee" therein lays two saltwater brackish marsh estuaries of the "St. Lucie" to the east and "Caloosahatchee" to the west. With these untreated fresh water discharges from "Lake Okeechobee" into these 2 predominant estuaries of the "St. Lucie and Caloosahatchee". Has caused large algae blooms which in turn cause ecological catastrophe with mass fish die-offs in both estuaries. Where aviary bird impacts that feed on the fish has a third negative chain of events that are solely man made. It's the classic domino theory of environmental woe in order to prevent over flooding of the "Herbert Hoover Dike" which is an earthen levee surrounding the lake's perimeter. Here is a July 17th, 2013 broadcast from a local Tv station in "Stuart, FL." on the eastern flank of the "Lake Okeechobee".  (The video runs 3 minutes with a show transcript below) Environmentalists concerned about Lake Okeechobee drainage polluting St. Lucie Estuary (Link)  In response to this the State of Florida government in conjunction with its Federal partners of the "Army Corps of Engineers" has allocated over $2.7 billion dollars to address this issue. "The Florida Channel" September 13th 2013 airing of "Capitol Update" briefly updates viewers. (fast forward to 12 minutes 50 seconds until minute 14 in the video) Capitol Update Week Ending 09/13/2013 (Link) My concept would build two Wave Farms that has at its core mission as a Water Filtration Aqueduct system. In order to handle the "Lake Okeechobee" discharges at each flank into the estuaries. But let me back track by what I mean regarding a "Wave Farm". Which is an oceanic or in this concept a trapped water source being the aqueducts to generate electricity year round. Using generated Wave Power in its kinetic motion to create electricity as a very green renewable source of energy.

Wave power is the transport of energy by ocean surface waves, and the capture of that energy to do useful work – for example, electricity generation, water desalination, or the pumping of water (into reservoirs). Machinery able to exploit wave power is generally known as a wave energy converter (WEC).

Wave power is distinct from the diurnal flux of tidal power and the steady gyre of ocean currents. Wave-power generation is not currently a widely employed commercial technology, although there have been attempts to use it since at least 1890.[1] In 2008, the first experimental wave farm was opened in Portugal, at the Aguçadoura Wave Park.[2] The major competitor of wave power is offshore wind power.    (Source: "Wave Power by Wikipedia" Link )

I foresee the "Reservoir Replenishment Aqueduct System" (RRAS) for its retention canals to be similar in configuration as to an Air Mattress design.

So within each length of the canal in such a water filtration system to have within it a snake like wave kinetic generator to create electricity like the one shown below.

Now back to the matter of converting "Lake Okeechobee's" fresh water into a more suitable brackish salt water. In PH (potential hydrogen) balance so the salinity of the water into the estuary doesn't cause a ecological nightmare. One set of the facility canals or aqueduct would convert the fresh water into a compatible salt water equal to the one located in the estuary. The second set of canals would act akin to retention ponds or canal feeders nourishing the first set during the salination efforts. If the situation is reversed and "Lake Okeechobee" is experiencing drought like conditions jeopardizing its own native fresh water marine ecology. These 2 water filtration facilities on either flank of "Lake Okeechobee" located a couple miles away. Can reverse its core mission to drain some of the waters of each estuary especially in cases of over flooding not affecting the lake. To take the salt water from each marsh and desalinate the PH balance via the canal like aqueducts. To subsequently than pipe the now treated fresh water that matches the alkaline of the waters within the lake itself. To circle back to the beginning noting that as the canals salinate or desalinate water within the maze like aqueducts. They are also generating green renewable electricity to power each flanking facility. Now what if during non use of the water filtration stations that water was siphoned off just to recycle the waters flowing through the aqueducts. The recycled water source would be utilized to generate electricity akin to a hydro power plant like a dam located anywhere in the world. This excess generated electricity would become a positive net gain repaying its capital infrastructure dollar outlay within the decade if not sooner. Thus the water filtration stations if managed by a State water management entity could become a source of revenue generation. By Net Metering Power back to utilities always needing electricity for its own customers throughout the State if not beyond. The dual mission role of a wave farm that doubles as a ecological life preserver. For its neighboring estuaries is what humanity and mother nature need as good medicine. It knocks out two birds with one proverbial stone to aiding any discharges from "Lake Okeechobee" and vice a versa from the estuaries of "St. Lucie or Caloosahatchee" itself. All the while generating kinetic wave power when its filtering the waters and especially when it is not. This is a Win Win Scenario if I have ever saw one in truth. Let's just hope that the "Army Corps of Engineers" and the State of Florida water management officials are paying attention one way or another God Willing. If not have something like this imagined to benefit citizen and native wildlife alike in living in mutual harmony.
