Fourth Of July By Sufjan Stevens Going Were All Gonna Die Over And Over Is So Soothing To Me. It Doesnt
Fourth of July by Sufjan Stevens going “we’re all gonna die” over and over is so soothing to me. It doesn’t feel ironic, it doesn’t feel darkly comforting, it just feels plain comforting. We’re all gonna die. It probably sounds morbid but it’s such a calming and beautiful song.

everything everywhere all at once is about intergenerational trauma. about depression and passive suicidality and the gravitational appeal of nothingness. about aging, getting older in your twenties and getting older in your fifties. about the specific hurt mothers can cause their daughters and daughters their mothers. about the harsh reality of the immigrant experience and the american dream. but it’s mostly about kindness and family and it’s about choosing to sit at home talking about taxes with someone who loves you, and it’s about telling your daughter that you’d choose her over the entire universe, and it’s about how even in the universes where life didn’t form, love can still exist. and it’s really all of that at once.
Oscar Wilde saying death must be so beautiful, “to forget time, to forgive life,” might be so macabre but to me it makes me want to live. That validation of yes, life is something that must be forgiven, but there’s time for that. For now, just live, live and give it all you got. The time for rest will come eventually, and you have infinity for that.
Accidentally consumed too much optimistic content, now I half-sincerely believe the presence of love is what made the universe come to life
Love is a wonderful infinite resource because of its access and availability to everyone but I still think its beautiful the relationship gay people have with love. We just have so much gratefulness and appreciation for it and how it thrives in the little things. It’s one of the things that makes me most proud of being queer.
