This Reminded Me, When I Was 9 Years Old, Every Night Before Going To Bed I Would Arrange Everyone's
this reminded me, when i was 9 years old, every night before going to bed i would arrange everyone's shoes in the rack and make all of them fit forcefully and cover the open side of the racks with rugs because my brain told me if i don't do that, someone will die, the SHOES will feel bad or someone will steal them.
Me at 30: How can it be OCD? I've never had worrying thoughts before...
Me at 5: If you don't say I love you good night to your parents they will die. If you don't close the curtains properly you will die. You better check that your whole family is breathing in their sleep or else they will die. Better not swallow that or you will die...
Me for my whole life: harm and contamination intrusive thoughts, moral intrusive thoughts.
Me at 31: Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

people will hear you talk about struggling with mental illness and say “you can do anything if you just put your mind to it”. brother what part of the body does the mental illness happen in. what do you think is the problem
i would have been one of those rock collector people if the streets of my city weren't marinated in dog poop and random garbage

What an autistic person says: "How long is it going to take?"
What they mean: "I want to know whether to activate my short term waiting mode where I just wait and do nothing else, or activate my long term waiting mode where I occupy my mind with something else. I fully understand that both are possibilities, and I have no problem whatsoever with either one, but I want more information so I can best adapt to the situation."
What neurotypical people hear: "I am impatient and demand that everything I want happen right now. Please scold me and publicly humiliate me for it."
