Alright, let's try this again. Tumblr ate my the first version of this post, which is good, because I thought the gifs were too small anyway. Commentary below the cut.

The way he flashes his watch every time he answers the phone with his left hand. Enough said.

My favourite phone scene is the one where Javier gets the call from Gabby. The scene is pure sex. Him talking around his cigarette, checking out his watch, and that cocky little look where he thinks he's going to get laid in 20 minutes. Peel me off the floor please, sir.

At the very beginning of episode 3 Joel is shown building a cairn near the river at the earliest hours of dawn. You can hear the cicadas chirping.

When he returns to check on Ellie, the sun is already up and above in the sky, lighting up the forest and the creek river flows in with warm yellowish colors.

That means that he probably covered Ellie with his jacket when she fell asleep to avoid any bickering and commentaries and stepped aside to let the river stream carry away a bit of his deeply buried sorrow, and stayed there for quite some time.

As if this broken man is still capable of gentle caring actions and experiences emotions, but only in silence, hidden in twilight. And I love that we're being subtly shown these parts of him.

I know I'm mostly a Pedro Pascal girly but like I need there to be more Jeffrey Pierce love and appreciation. This man is such an incredibly talented actor and also just an absolutely delightful human being. He's been such a wonderful person to have involved with this franchise for the past decade and I feel like he just doesn't get enough attention. The way he portrayed Tommy, especially in the second game left me so emotional and made me love the character so much. He's also a fantastic writer - he's published three novels so far in a series where the dead coming back to life during WWI - and has always been warm and happy to interact with fans that reach out to him. Trust me, I've been one of them. I truly hope that him being on screen this season introduces more people to him and brings more people to his works.
