Taehyung was panting. He had never run so fast in his life. The second that Jimin had called him explaining what had happened to you at the party, he knew he needed to find you.

A part of him was upset. He told you not to go. He warned you that your ex would be there, but you still went. You were always so stubborn, and yet he loved you so much.

When he arrived at your door, he didn't bother knocking, instead he busted through knowing that you never locked your door. You were curled up on your couch, mascara streaming down your face, still in your little dress.

You looked startled to see him.

"T-taehyung?"

He let out a breathless sigh, falling to his knees before you.

"Why are you here?"

Taehyung ignored your question, immediately reaching up to wipe away your tears with the pads of his thumbs, now tainted with the black ink. He didn't care, all he cared about was if you were okay. Seeing you cry, knowing you were hurt, it was an unquenchable throbbing in his chest. He couldn't stand it - not when every fiber of his being was screaming for him to take it all away, to take the pain and only bring you happiness.

"I came to make sure you were okay" His voice was soft, face inches from your own. He would lecture you, eventually. But right now he knew better. You needed him, and so there he was. He crawled onto the couch by you, tangled you up in his arms, and pressed his lips to your forehead, holding you as you cried.

"Breathe," Jungkook's hand trailed up and down your back softly as you wept into his chest. Seeing you like this made his heart break. You'd come home late again, another fight with your boyfriend Taehyung. "I have you. I'm here"

You felt nauseous. Physically sick to your core as you desperately tried to breathe in.

"I can't fucking take it anymore Koo" You mumbled into his chest, "I'm just so scared of being alone, and I can't just leave him - he needs me, I need him but he's just so--he cheated on me Koo"

The words hit him like a bullet. He knew how much you loved Taehyung, the two of you had been dating for almost a year. Despite his own feelings for you, he had encouraged you to follow your heart and pursue a relationship with him, although deep down, Jungkook always knew he was no good for you.

Despite that, it still hurt when his suspicions came to reality. And now you were in his arms, body trembling, trying to hold in the throbbing ache in your heart from slipping over into tears. You'd hit your breaking point.

"I-I had a feeling." You sniffled, backing away to tell him what had happened. Jungkook stroked your hair, listening intently. "He accused me of spending too much time with you, because he knows you like me, and" You blinked your tears away, meeting Jungkook's sad eyes briefly, "I told him that it didn't matter because you and I already talked about it and it was okay but he said he was still jealous, s-so he went out and got drunk a-and made out with some person"

You chuckled bitterly, "And you wanna know the greatest fucking part of all of this Koo? I forgave him. I forgave him because I hate him and I'm an idiot but fuck I just need him so bad Koo"

Your sobs got louder. Jungkook's heart stung when you brought up his own feelings for you. A part of him wondered if he should feel guilty for getting into Taehyung's head by confessing to you when he had. But Jungkook could live with rejection, just not regret. He always wanted you, and he never let a second go by where he didn't prove it to you.

"He said I needed to be patient with him. He said he can't trust me anymore. That I'm not available enough to meet his needs and it's my fault for pushing him to this point"

"Bullshit" Jungkook muttered under his breath.

"W-what?"

"You heard me. That's absolute bullshit Y/n, and you know it is." Jungkook was fed up. He didn't see why you had to go through all this emotional turmoil when he was right there in front of you, offering you all the love in the world. You were trapped in some dream but it was goddamn time to bring you back to reality. "He's fucking insecure. You told him I confessed, which was the mature thing to do. If he had an issue with me hanging out with you he should have talked to me about it. But you told him because you wanted him to trust you and he should have. He didn't, that's his fucking fault."

Jungkook scoffed, "I mean damn, you're the most loyal person there is. You defend that fucker for all the shit he puts you through. He's got a lot of fucking audacity saying he can't trust you when he's the one who fucking cheated"

Your sobs quieted down as you considered his points. He lifted your hand to his lips and kissed your fingers softly.

"You deserve better, Y/n" Jungkook whispered, "It doesn't have to be me, but you deserve better"
