Ok….that story is an emotional roller coaster. My essay contains a lot of spoilers. Viewer discretion is advised. Lol

Jin: lmfao, that man was insane! Like I’ve seen some interesting thing before.. but…. So First I was like ‘aw little nice guy act. That’s cute.” Then he kept say he’s not gonna let anyone hurt y/n and that he’ll protect her and I’m like….. ‘boy I don’t even know.’ Lmfao then he turns out to be this intense yandere…. If I can’t have her, no one can.

Yoongi: Fucking Yoongi! Damn you yoongi! I was rooting for that cute nice guy/shy guy act….. but babe I could smell you out a mile away. I knew that shit was to good to be true. I think up until the branding, I was whipped. After the branding I was like ‘babe… what we doing? What is this?’ Then this man assaulted her… I was done.

Hoseok: I put Hoseok because I don’t know where the hell hobi was. I’m not gonna lie that man low key traumatize me. Like after that bar smut I was like 😀 one thing that gave him away with him being like a double agent was the kidnapping. You said he was there but there was only sounds of Namjoon being dragged out then y/n was alone. Like ain’t no way he just got up and left. Lol

Namjoon: I’ll be honest…. You’re a genius babe. You took beefy buff buff from dom energies to a sub. He was whipped! Lmfao. He was probably the most sane person there. With me, I don’t have like a mommy/daddy kink so Namjoon’s and jimin’s part specifically were so funny and awkward for me.

Jimin: dead ass….. fuck you. I give a damn about your sob story. I don’t give a damn about you wanting to ‘change’. I don’t give a damn about you becoming whipped for y/n. One thing that did kind of hurt my feelings was the possibility of Jimin being a sweet/nice person before yoongi ruined him.

Taehyung: I’ll be honest… this story low key almost made me tae biased… lmfao. Anyways. He was insane but also (besides namjoon) the most sane person. He gave lover energy while everyone else gave fuck buddy. I’ll never admit to this but my feelings were hurt when he was ‘dead’. Taehyung was also giving ‘I work for everyone, but I also work for no one.’

Jungkook: he was giving mixed signals from the start. Now he was whipped! But then he wasn’t… It gave me trust issues. I was low key shocked when he did that car chase. Like babe I thought we were besties.

Y/n: yes she gets an opinion. This girl was sincerely aching my nerves. Bestie was all over the place. I’m surprised she doesn’t have a concussion from everyone targeting her head. The bruises this girl must have…. But she seriously had everyone whipped for her. Lmfao. Like they’ll sacrifice everything for her. Had them trained. She had to be good.

I haven’t read the two sided endings yet but I’m sure when I do… I’ll be back. Although my essay is mostly me ranting about the downfalls of each character, I promise that story was/is really fun. Like the suspense that happened in it. I think one of my favorite scenes was when yoongi drove y/n to Jin, but Jin didn’t know yoongi, but Jin knew yoongi was the one that threatened him, then yoongi smirked and and went like ‘shh’ then pointed a finger gun at y/n. What was funny was that yoongi said that he’ll deliver her right to him.

I LOVE THIS AND YOU. thank you for sending this in its always so much fun to see what yall are thinking :))))))) you're dead on with like basically all of your opinions though, i agree hahaha. i put some thoughts down myself too -

JIN: ive thought about this quite a lot actually - whether or not jin is yandere or just like crazy. jin is troubled for sure, he's like not technically in love with yn or anything though she was just an appetizing victim to him. his character is notably unrealistic and kinda just something i was having fun with because he was off the rails and did not give two shits about anything

YOONGI: i wrote death valley for Yoongi. like he was the muse he was the center he was the man. it is a dark fic, and he turns out to be a dark guy but if we look at the psyche of yn she is so attuned to liking this made up glamorized idea of a pop star (jimin) and yoongi was able to embody all of that. she was bound to get attached, he played her right to him. the only thing he didn't anticipate was that yn was genuinely being delusional at first and she was not actually how he expected her to be. taehyung however knew because taehyung was the one that actually picked up on her mannerisms

TAEHYUNG: and that brings me to the man of the hour. i could write a whole other fic about death valley taehyung to be honest. he is, first and foremost selfish. he is manipulative and charming, but doesn't actually care about anyone but himself. not jimin, not yn, not yoongi. he has had to be this way, and thats not a part of death valley but id assume he has some cold backstory that made him this way

HOSEOK: hobi's name is yet to be cleared. he's not as bad as he's been made out to be which we will find out about in the ending. he's essentially just yoongi's bitch and he usually never steps out of line (he rejected yn at first) but then he did and shit went down and he's suffering the consequences. he's just trying to survive in a very strange industry

JIMIN: this goes back to yn's psyche. jimin turns out to not be what she expected but the fact that she idolized him so heavily makes her want him regardless. it explores the extent of that idolization. and since jimin was always so heavily sheltered away, he's attracted to the very fact that yn worships him - but then gets even more attracted when she starts to show who she really is and that she isn't gonna put up with his childish antics. i always say that jimin and yoongi are opposites - yoongi is calm and collected but RAGES past a point while jimin is a total brat most of the time but when he gets truly angry he is very collected and focused. more on that in the ending though. he was not a good person because of how yoongi manipulated him but yes, at the core he's not that bad. he doesn't want to be bad, and he really does like yn a lot he just doesn't know how to manage himself

NAMJOON: clears throat. look all im gonna say is that the cute one's are always sus. namjoon was at the start of it all. he was there throughout everything. he was always around and always knew what was happening. he dragged her to the heart of the mess right away. he's conveniently been able to build a genuine friendship with yn too and made himself out to be a hero most of the time. but he's not so innocent. he's after something. a few things. one, he hates jimin. has since the start. not a huge fan of yoongi either but he does what he has to to build his career. he holds resentment for both of them, a notable amount. there is an overlying theme of obsession in the fic, not just romantic. yn's obsession with the singer jimin. yoongi's obsession with jimin, turning into one with yn. jimin's obsession with yoongi as someone to look up to. taehyungs obsession with power. namjoon's obsession with becoming famous and getting revenge.

JUNGKOOK: he was meant to be a breath of fresh air, a fuck buddy and was useful to stir up the plot when i needed. he had an internal struggle of being true to himself versus doing what was expected of him. now he's a good guy though, so finally he chooses himself over everyone else too.

YN: a lot of you have expressed that you find the reader to be very irritating and chaotic, and TRUST ME I KNOW HAHAHAHA. she is self destructive in a lot of ways, and a promiscious legend all at once. the story was trying to show her changing over the fic, becoming more just strong and raw to herself. taking charge of her situation rather than letting these men manipulate it for her. i have fucked up yandere plots but try to empower the reader by the end usually hahahahahaha maybe not really idk. she is a mess, and she reflects the story too which is chaos and was meant to be

i also wanna say that, i realize and admit that death valley was very confusing at times. there are a lot of things stylistically and plot wise i wished i would have done differently and they are things i am trying to address in nexus. like, death valley was PWP to the core. for me it was about creating the visual situations to build up to the next smut scene more than anything. smut smut smut smut it was just fun crazy wild chaos.

in nexus, i hope to do a better job of building character personalities, making the plot more central than the smut. keeping the reader on their toes with a good amount of twists and turns, but also not too much that its hard to keep track. ot7 fics are hard, and kudos to authors who do them well. it was a lot of fun writing death valley at first, and i hope to be able to give you all a fun, enjoyable ending that ties everything up in a neat knot and leaves you satisfied.

ANYWAY all that aside, death valley is a party and the party isnt over! i love getting your perspectives and interpretations its really motivating for me so thank you again <3 <3 <3
