Are You Happy With How Your Favorite Canon Muse Was Portrayed In Canon?
Are you happy with how your favorite canon muse was portrayed in canon?

Ohh!! What a good question!
For the most part, yes. In the Marvel fandom, my favorites are Tony Stark and Bruce Banner, both men who have been portrayed in several different ways depending on who wrote them and what arc they were in. I appreciate a character with a complicated background that didn't have that picturesque upbringing or the perfect life - especially in say, Tony's case whereby all rights it looks like he should have had. Does that mean that I love every *adaptation* we've had? nah. I will say I thought RDJ was the only possible Tony Stark and if they make Doom just an alternate Tony I'll be upset. I think casting Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner has been a good choice, but I don't like how they addressed Prof. Hulk (integrated system) or introduced Skaar. We should have had a standalone movie (and there is still time!) of World War Hulk when Hulk was on the planet Sakaar. We obviously didn't get to see so much more.
For personal reasons, I resonate with both Astarion and Halsin's stories in BG3.
I am still learning, and still uncovering new facets to these two but the fact that they're shown actively on different parts of their recovery brings me so much hope and joy. It's a weird place to be in, because I am just now actively trying to address residual trauma from 30 years ago, and I see Astarion's fear, and his hurt, and the way that he is actively choosing to open up and to let his friends in even though he is terrified and has only been shown hurt before it's just....*ah* so good.
And yeah, I think it was a huge misfire that you don't know about Halsin's trauma until **after** you have him sleep with the Drow twins with you, and then he's so damn casual about it? like my guy. Sir, you are **burying** those feels. Like I am so well versed in just putting a lid on my feelings and it's like Yzma's plan.

He's gonna put those feelings into a box, and put that box inside of another box, and then he'll mail it to himself and when it arrives he'll SMASH IT WITH A HAMMER.
I just thought it was a slip up for Halsin to tell you **after** when he is the King of Consent and having everyone be informed so it's just......not the best way to have brought that trauma up with your partner.

"Hey, you're that guy, aren't you?"

Halsin paused before he turned back to look at the other, one large shoulder shrugging. "It depends on who you are looking for." He offered the words with a small smile, scared forehead furrowing just a bit. There was no immediate recognition, but, with as many that came looking for him for various reasons he wasn't phased by it. "Did you need some help?" - It was a fair assumption about why they'd come his way.

Could him burying those feelings be why he blows up so much at Minthara via Ultimatum?
There is a HUGE MINEFIELD I think - and like me, Halsin doesn't know how to win at Minesweeper. Like I imagine those first few decades, maybe even the first century after his captivity, he probably was suspicious of every drow he encountered. He would still carry that uncertainty, and it would 100% show in his treatment and approach to Minthara.
Hearing Minthara's plans and her resolute certainty of her status and birthright would have Halsin gritting his teeth, and ultimately after he was captive in the Goblin Camp his fury would be so palpable. He would struggle with setting aside her enslavement to the Absolute and who she is at her core, and trying to just reconcile all the options and the fact that if she left, she would fall victim to the Elder Brain (good lord I spelled brian, and it looked fine for all GOOD WHILE) Halsin tries to respect the balance in the world and uphold that balance, but he does see the Lolth sworn as a hivemind of danger. He is more accepting of Seldarine drow, though they are fewer and further in between.
And lemme just say that they acted the HELL out of that scene, btw. Here it is if you're unfamiliar!
What caused you to start writing? What was your key point?
What are you looking for in a ship?

These questions are delightful, so a HUGE HUGE THANKS to everyone sending these in. it's so nice to have an excuse to sit and think for a minute about motivations and the way I started writing.
What caused you to start writing? What was your key point?
So I honestly have a less than ideal history, myself, and I used things like games and books and movies to distract myself from my world. Writing was the next step, to me, and it took the way that I'd just absorb the media that was given to me, and then I could take it a step further, and I could make the choices and get to decide what happened. I can't remember the pivotal moment where I decided to give it a try, but, I was hooked ever since. I was extremely young, I'd say, to start writing and then roleplaying. Even in my modest, most humble beginnings on pen and paper in class.
What are you looking for in a ship?
I will be honest and say that I'm looking first and foremost for chemistry. If we really hit it off and our writing styles complement each other, and our muses really hit it off too?

I am weak, and I will fold like a lawn chair if you show us even a scrap of excitement or continued attention. I love when my ship partners are just as enthusiastic as I am - and that can be anything! tag me in memes or pictures that make you think of our muses. Send me a rambling message of a plot idea you had that you wanted to try. Make playlists, or images, send ANYTHING to show that you're into it the way I am and we will party. Basically I just want that kind of feeling where it snowballs, and suddenly your thoughts are consumed by the ship and that is adorable to me.
As far as like....characters go, I love a ship that builds itself. The unexpected sudden turn, the slow burn, I love when muses agonize over their feelings or where one is more confident and direct and the other has to come around to it. Honestly, shipping is one of the best parts about RP when you find the right person, and they're so into it with you. And that goes for Platonic ships too! Platonic relationships are just as important and vital.
