Others' lives always seem better than ours. But no one can judge a life better than its owner. Even people who seem to lack nothing, probably wish for something that someone else took for granted. Being grateful is key because no matter how much you try, life is never going to offer you everything. It was never fair so why would you be the exception. My father always told me since I was a child "Don't look at people above you and compare your life to them. Only look up if you need the motivation to work hard and fly higher. Look at people who lack what you have and be thankful. What was given to you for free, many have to shed blood, sweat and tears in hope to have it."

It’s a very comforting song. It shows overcoming pain and suffering and going towards self-love. It also describes loneliness in a beautiful way.

Some of my fav lyrics:  “Is it that important to compare who’s better between others and me or me and others. After countless nights of suffering. I finally get it now. I’m too precious to just sit around and worry. Take a look inside your heart without a cover. It’s okay to be yourself. It’s gotta stop.”

Bolbbalgan4 ‘To My Youth’ 나의 사춘기에게 HERE

It’s a song about defeating depression. But once those dark days were over so were the days that would never comeback. So was the youth that just went by in tears. It’s looking at ones past self and somehow pitying it and somehow being thankful it went by now.

Some of my fav lyrics (like all): “At some point, I used to wish I would disappear from this world. The whole world seemed so dark and I cried every night. Will I feel better if I just disappeared? I was so afraid of everyone’s eyes on me. During those beautifully beautiful days, I was in pain. I hated myself for not being able to receive love. My mom and my dad, they’re only looking at me. The MV for "Help" tells the story of people who are unsure of places in their lives, including a homosexual couple, a couple who's been divorced, an overweight woman who's a pessimist, and an   acute social withdrawal. (All of them are specified in the ending, so there's no guesswork going on.)

Hyukoh (혁오) - Wi Ing Wi Ing (위잉위잉) HERE

You know when you feel so low and like the world is mocking you. In this song they take an interesting way to describe it. It’s to the point were even the fly is mocking their situation.

My fav lyrics: “My legs are stumbling, stumbling as I walk. Another meaningless day is passing today. Love is just for all those who are the same. There’s nothing to make my heart flutter. Wiing wiing, goes the fruit fly. It flies far away as if it’s laughing at my sadness. Bing bing, the world spins. It squirms as if it’s laughing at me too.”

Zion T ‘Yanghwa BRDG’ HERE

This is one of the songs I always go back to. Jungkook sang this song with ZionT live too. This is a song of wishing well for people around you and realizing how our parents worked hard for us but back when we were younger we didn’t realize it.”

This is a love song and it’s so catchy. I had on repeat for days and I still love it. It came out 2 years ago but it topped the charts again because a popular Korean singer named Lee Hyori sang it on a popular variety show. 

Fav lyrics: “Let's light a cigarette and talk all night long. Come to me when you're having a hard time. Wrap your skinny arms around me. Even if we hurting right now it’s alright... Your hands and feet are cold like always. That's why I told you to hug me quickly...You who couldn't drink alcohol met me. We bought wine. You who couldn't drink alcohol met me. My heart hurts.”

Urban Zakapa ‘I Don't Love You’ (널 사랑하지 않아) HERE

This is just such a beautiful song. The vocals and the lyrics just make even people with no hearts start feeling a beat in their chest. “I Don’t Love You,” a ballad whose lyrics express the complexity of relationships and love. Isn’t it insane how someone you loved more than yourself turn into something you care so little about someday? The lyrics express that feeling perfectly.  As for the music video and the song in combination are a haunting image of relationship complacency — not worth the fight and misery of breaking up, but maybe not happy enough to stay faithful.

Fav lyrics: “I don’t love you. I’m sure you already know. Even when I see you shedding tears. My heart doesn’t ache anymore.”

Gaho - ‘Stay Here’ HERE

His voice. HIS emotions. Do yourself a favor and go give this a listen. It’s a song about regretting past mistakes and wishing we never parted with a loved one while begging for them to stay.
