Why must I write things?? Why can't I just IMAGINE things and then watch them MAGICALLY MATERIALIZE before my eyes??? *stamps foot angrily*

so like. obviously it's an immensely tragic route to take but sometimes it's just so satisfying for a story to go "there's no happy ending this time. resistance is futile in this scenario. the 'good guys' can't win. this is a pointless last stand. so for their final act, our beloved characters are going to rock the antagonist's shit so fucking hard it makes you stare at a wall struggling to process what just happened and how you feel about it for hours afterwards."

Write what you want to.

It doesn't matter if you're writing your WIP, side WIP, a new WIP, a fanfic, or anything else. Just write. As long as you're writing something, it really doesn't matter what it is. It's okay if you need a break from your main project, it's okay if you write fanfiction, it's okay if you can't decide which project you like best, it's okay if you aren't happy with any of your projects. You'll keep learning and expanding your skills no matter what you write. That being said, write what you want to and don't let other people make you feel bad about it. If you enjoy writing it, that's good enough.

I don't think anyone realizes how legitimately terrifying it can be too see someone who never cries break down sobbing. Like, my dad is the most emotionally detatched person I know and one time when I was little I hid under the blankets on my parents' bed when I was mad and they couldn't find me and when they did my dad was bawling and that shit was absolutely fucking terrifying. Like, it can be sweet and all, but it's also super scary sometimes.
