hi i’m peach, disabled & unable to work, your local mental health disaster! today i tried getting my wisdom teeth out just numbed up but i couldn’t do it. it hurt and eventually the doctor said “we should refer you somewhere they’ll put you to sleep”, and i very much agree.

and that will be around $800. i don’t have a solid number yet, will update as soon as i do.

we can barely afford to buy groceries so there is no way for me to get this money. i promise i’m going to try to find work and get some but i don’t think i’ll be able to come up with it all. i have 2 months.

(at the very, very least, i would like nitrous, and that’s only $200. i would very much prefer to get completely knocked out, though. i nearly had an anxiety attack during the procedure and broke down in tears after the doctor left. i don’t know if nitrous is enough, but if i don’t make enough money, i will accept that. anything would be better than how horribly it went today.)

do you think sam saw penelope’s body? like. they got there a little after kalvaxus died. the police were there, yeah, but there’s seven teenage girls set on revenge, six kids and some of their guardians who just saved the world, and the elmville police are just known to be incompetent. Arthur Aguefort was busy resurrecting a dragon to ensure he didn’t become a victim to the seven’s wrath. and sam walks in, a storm at her fingertips, and suddenly everything dies down because penelope is dead on the ground in the prom dress they shopped together for. her best friend, the person she loved more than anyone else in the world, the person who betrayed her, is dead. do you think she tried to resurrect her? did she spend those precious few moments before kalvaxus was brought back begging and screaming for ostentatia, for yelle, to bring her back. did sam spend rounds of combat shooting spells at Aguefort, demanding that he use “the most powerful magic in the world” to bring penelope back. because she had so many things to ask her. there’s so much anger and love and regret hanging between those two and i just wonder what sam felt, seeing her world dead just for a shitty prom queen crown.

My friend already roasted me in the tags but for the first, oh, 18-ish years of my life I thought that Pluto and the Moon were the same thing. I was into astrology (not astronomy) and read about the signs in Pluto and the Moon and was like “Huh, that’s weird that they listed the moon twice! Oh well.” The signs were different. It’s because they were different planets. I was (and still am) very much a fool. 

I used to be a grader and an occasional substitute prof for an introductory astronomy lab. That means that the majority of the people in this lab are only taking it because it’s a requirement and about half of them think it’s an astrology class.

I was grading midterms and this one girl. She was so nice and I think she was a business major. Fuck. The question on the midterm was to draw a diagram of the solar system and this poor girl. This fucking girl had drawn a Mars-centric solar system. As in every planet and the sun were orbiting Mars. I now actually have a custom Cards Againsy Humanity card I got at a con that says “A Mars-centric solar system”

I had a boy argue with me that there was liquid water on the moon (this was around when they had found liquid water on Mars in ~2015) and he wouldn’t believe me that he likely meant Mars and not the moon. After I marked his answer to the relevant lab question wrong, he took it to the department head who had promptly laughed him out of the office.

And there was another boy who, during a lab in our observatory where we would look at certain things in the sky, asked where the sun was. At 10pm in November. After some questioning it was revealed that he thought the moon and the sun were the same thing.

in conjunction with my childhood friends adaine and fabian i also want to propose childhood besties kristen and riz. sklonda is panicking, looking for somewhere to keep riz for the day because she works and penny can’t watch him and so she stumbles upon a summer camp. and she’s exhausted and doesn’t read it twice and sends riz to a helioic summer camp. and then this small 10-and-change goblin shows up, backpack and button up and khaki shorts. and he has dozens of eyes on him and there are men in masks and he’s very, very scared.

and then recently chosen kristen applebees walks up and extends a hand. because yeah, he might look scary, but helio loves everyone and this is a person! and his eyes are large and gold like the sun or big ears of corn and so he obviously has to be blessed by helio. and suddenly riz and kristen are best friends. inseparable. riz eats her brussel sprouts and keeps her from tripping over her feet and kristen is his second best friend. riz shows her the world and helps her realize that her religion isn’t what she thought it was. riz who holds her hands when she starts to have sinful thoughts. riz, who kristen kissed at 11, just to see what it was like. riz, who kristen kissed at 18, because she needed to see if there was something wrong with her (and there wasn’t–kristen was just very much a lesbian in denial). 

kristen, who would sit up on the phone to talk riz out of his spirals. who drove him around because the gukgaks could’t afford another car and her mini van was way too big for one. riz, who fit into bricker and cork’s old t-ball shirts. riz, who bandages kristen’s fingers when she bites her nails too close to the quick. riz, who lets kristen tie his ties even though he knows she’s going to do it poorly because kristen looks like she was offered the sun when he lets her do it. riz helping kristen with the children at sunday school and guiding a new generation of helioic followers who have had at least one positive interaction with a goblin. coffee ice cream and milkshakes and evening drives. riz getting breakfast at church after not sleeping for days and barely eating. kristen conning the sweet old ladies into giving her extras so riz can take some home to his mom. 

riz holding her hand in the pew, sitting next to the applebees family and squeezing her hand whenever the pastor says something that makes him flinch. kristen aruging that if ragh was allowed to come, to be around dayne and coach daybreak, then riz was allowed to be her friend. kristen fighting and arguing until she’s hoarse. drying tears and messy braids and pinkie promises.

 riz and kristen who were the only couple of different races at their prom. kristen and riz who are fiercely protective over one another because they are the only two who love each other unconditionally. kristen, who is running and running and running; riz, who is digging deeper and deeper and deeper until his hands are bleeding because he will put in the work to make sure that kristen is safe. kristen is happy. because she saved his life at 10 years old and he will make sure that returns the favor.
