I thought Francis liked Richard at first, but then I changed my mind. They were good friends, but if anything he was maybe attracted to Richard, not necessarily in a romantic way. When they kissed I guess he kind of acted on impulse – they had also just killed Bunny at that point, so it's safe to say he was just as stressed out as Richard was, and said screw it and went for it just because.

Instead, even with how toxic their whole thing was, I believe Francis was in love with Charles. I really don't think he had bad intentions per se, he genuinely liked him, but obviously went about it in the worst way possible and ended up in that very bad consensual-but-not-quite situation with him. He knew Charles didn't reciprocate, but also knew how to push him to convince him anyways, was selfish and took advantage of that to get what he wanted.

In the end I think Francis was just really desperate to have something with anyone at all, resulting in that little back and forth between Charles and Richard to see if he could work it out with either of them. But yes basically to me it was Charles the one he really wanted and was attached to, he hit on Richard on a whim to blow off steam, only to end up going back to Charles anyways.

y' all i have a question : do you think francis was really in love with richard? or was he in love just with charles?
