Smell of pines

The ringing of the bell signaled someone entering the shop. Or two someones, should I say.
Chatting away, Y/n and her boyfriend, Sammy, walked into a local plant shop. It was Christmas season and Y/n had begged Sammy to come with her shopping for decor. And even though they have been together for what seemed like forever, which was only 3 years; Sammy still got flustered from her(Though he would never admit it).
When a break hit their conversation, Y/n took a deep breath of the floral life around her. Exhaling with a smile, she turned to Sammy.
âDo you smell that?â
Sammy inhaled through his nose for a second before exhaling immediately after. âYeah, what about it?â
âWhatâs it smell like to you?â Y/n asked curiously, she always had a knack for wanting to know everything. And that knack of hers was multiplied tenfold when she started dating Sammy, she wanted to know everything about him. At first, this weirded Sammy out; but now itâs a second nature to tell Y/n anything she wanted to know. He loved that goofy smile sheâd get when she learned something new.
So, putting on a teasing smile, Sammy said, âIt smells like employees hating their lives.â
Y/n gave him the most impassive look she could muster.
âI was talking about the smell of pine trees.â
Sammy just shrugged and walked away from her, knowing sheâd follow. âSame difference.â
âWha- No itâs not! Pine is a much more nostalgic and happy smell rather than whatever âEmployees hating their lives.â smells like!â Y/n chased after her boyfriend.
Once she found him, the two went back to the most random topics that came along the way. After shopping for a bit, Y/n picked out a nice looking wreath. Whereas, unbeknownst to Y/n, Sammy bought a mistletoe and had a plan.
Finally leaving the store, the two got into their shared car; with Y/n in the passenger and Sammy driving, he didnât trust her driving skills after she almost ran off the road and then accidently whipped the car with people behind them.
Sammy began to drive to their shared apartment. On the way, Y/n turned on the radio and Christmas music flooded the car. As the previous song ended, one of Y/n and Sammyâs favorites came on and the two immediately began to sing along to the duet.
âI really canât stayâŠâ
âBaby itâs cold outside.â
âIâve got to go awayâŠâ
âBaby itâs cold outside.â
âThis evening has beenâŠâ
âHoping that youâd drop by.â
âSoâŠvery nice.â
âIâll take your hands, they're just like ice.â
The two sang on and on until the song ended, arriving home right on time too. Sammy drove the car to the apartment parking lot and put it in park.
While Y/n was turned in her seat to get the wreath from the back seats, Sammy hung the mistletoe on the rearview mirror.
When Y/n turned back, she saw the mistletoe hanging up. She looked over to Sammy, about to ask where the mistletoe came from. But before she could, she was cut off by a pair of warm, soft lips meeting her cold, chapped ones.
Even though they have kissed countless times before, Y/n couldnât help but become flustered and thoughtless each time Sammy kissed her. Even a small forehead peck could get her to smile and giggle like a schoolgirl.
Slowly, the kiss broke, giving the two lovebirds some air. Sammy leaned away from her, watching for her reaction. She always made him smile with her reactions to his kisses.
Y/nâs face was firetruck red, she was burning up so much that she thought she had a fever.
Not being able to form words, she simply looked away from Sammy and stared at the windshield in front of her.
Sammy merely laughed at her flustered expression.
Little did they know, the universe had intertwined Sammy and Y/nâs hearts so that they may be together forever.

Hey pookie you should definitely write a oneshot/some headcanons about reader x various stuff cause I think that'd be really coolđ (Could be TQ, LMK, or TADC- or multie if you're really feeling up for it. I just want reader various content, really)

So I know this is really late and stupidâŠ.buuuut Iâm thinking of making a finale for the December challenge and releasing it on Christmas day. It will most likely be related to Toon QuestđŹ I know, I know, I write for TQ like every day, but thatâs cause the fandom is a barren wasteland for fics or oneshotsđ€·ââïž At least all the other fandoms I cover have actual fandoms, so Iâm sorry if this isnât what you wanted BUT this does NOT mean I am only writing TQ! I will still write all the fandoms (and others) I have listed.
So for this finale, that means no more oneshots until Christmas, yall cool with that? Coolđ Alrighty thats all
Toodles!!
Sorry this is so late, Iâm on that winter grind and apparently my school is too with how much homework their giving međđ But Iâm sorry this is so late, Iâve been having to write ridiculous amounts of essays and letters. But I hope you enjoy this!

A sharp inhale.
Crunching of snow.
Ragged breaths.
Adrenaline ringing.
Footsteps walking away.
Y/n let out a soft sigh of relief, taking her hands off her mouth. She slowly relaxed her muscles and leaned forwards. Y/n exited her tiny cove, an imprint her back left on the snow wall when she was pressed up hard against it.
Peering around as best as she could with the snow all around her, Y/n searched for her friend, trying to see where he wandered off to. She got into a small crouching position and gazed above all the snow piles, she almost resembled a meerkat.
As quietly as she could in the crunching snow, Y/n stood up and began to walk slowly out of her snow bunker.
âWhereâd he go?â She mumbled under her breath. Y/n walked around more and finally spotted the back of a familiar red coat belonging to a cup.
Smirking, she crept up slowly behind the ceramic, getting low to grab a clump of snow. Y/n shivered slightly at the coldness of the snow, maybe Ruck was right when he told her to bring gloves.
Nevermind that though, she could barely contain her chuckles. Y/n formed the snow into a ball firmly.
After creeping up on the dish for a good minute, Y/n was now directly behind him. Quietly but quickly, she wound up into a pitchers stance and absolutely launched the snowball at point blank.
Cuphead let out a shout and fell forwards with a loud thud.
Y/n bent over, putting her hands on her knees while she laughed loudly. Cuphead quickly twisted over when he heard her laughs, still on the ground. He had a shocked look, not expecting her to be right there.
Through her boisterous laughs, she managed to get a sentence out. âIn- your- your face!â Y/n held her stomach with one hand and pointed at Cuphead with the other.
Cupheadâs face shifted through emotions but in the end, he settled on a look of pure awe and admiration for his human friend.
Y/n finally began calming down from her howls of laughter. She was still chuckling lightly, bragging about her win against her friend.
âWould you look at that! I thought you were good at aiming? I just point blanked you!â
As prideful as she was, Y/n stopped bragging when she realized that Cuphead was chuckling at her. She gave him a confused look.
âWhat are you smiling at?â
âYou.â
Never before had Y/n been so caught off guard and flustered. She covered her face with her hands and turned away from Cuphead, beginning to walk away.
Cuphead laughed, getting up and off the ground to follow her back to her house.
Hey pookie so I know we didn't start on the right foot so Imma be more specific- a fluffy yet kinda silly gn!reader x various of practically everyone tryna woo reader in their own way and reader is just folding like a fuckin dumbass but at the same time they reciprocates everyone's lil gestures without directly confessing (mainly because they don't actually think they feel romantic cause as I said they're a fucking idiot) so people are just confused as fuck on whether they're just being very friendly or is actually into themđ (spoiler alert reader can't choose just one person to love cause they wanna make sure they get the right one (while also being like 'but everyones the right one how do I chooseđ„ș')) you can do either TADC, LMK or TQ as the fandom- you can spin a wheel for that one
Oops that was really long sorry if you don't wanna do it cause you obviously don't have to it if you wanna change some things that's also more than welcome- I'M SORRY WAHHHđ
this took over a month and im so sorry, also i kinda got off track halfway throughđđđ

Dance of the Heart
âHurry up, weâre gonna be late!âÂ
Y/n ran ahead of her toon friends, weaving her way through the crowd. Today was the first day of the Namahadi Fire Festival, and she was not going to miss it for the world. She only learned about it this morning when Lucy brought it up at breakfast with everyone. Ever since then, Y/n has been ecstatic all day.
She reached the front of the crowd; a small podium was in front of everyone. King Modi took a stand on the podium and began to try to gain everyone's attention. Y/n was bouncing on the balls of her feet as she waited for King Modiâs speech to start. She turned around when she heard panting and racing footsteps behind her. The toons finally caught up to her in the front.
âHow are you so fast for a human?â Oswald asked, slightly out of breath.Â
âNo idea, but Iâm so excited! I canât wait to go look around!â Y/n was enraptured.
âYes, there are supposed to be games, rides, and event tents here.â Felix informed the group, not seeming to be phased by all the running.
"Ugh, I hate those tent things; they are always so boring.â Cuphead complained, like normal. Mugman flicked his arm.
âBe nice, Cuphead; we should be grateful we are learning about Welkin and the offlands.â
âOoh yes! We should always try to know most of the places we are in and things about them." Panchito agreed almost cluelessly.
Ruck, Meek, and Don werenât interested in the Namahadi Fire Festival at all and opted to walk the town while itâs almost deserted.
Bendy was somewhere with Lucy, probably getting ready to oversee the festival.
Donald stayed back at the castle with Spunk, not interested in any of the festivities.
âDoes anyone even have a clue what a âNamahadi Fireâ is?" Cupehad began in his sassy tone before being cut off by King Modi finally speaking.
"Hello, dear citizens and visitors of the Welkin Kingdom! I am proud to announce that in this year of the Namahadi Fire Festival, we are welcoming a descendant of our greatest warrior, who was also one of my dearest friends. Y/n Vendolez, great granddaughter of Hector Vendolez!âÂ
Y/nâs eyes widened; she didnât know sheâd be addressed today, especially not in front of this many toons and humans. Her cheeks burned with embarrassment, not liking the attention. Modi looked directly at her as he continued speaking about her. She finally calmed herself when Modi started talking about Hector and the things he did.
âI am honored to have a descendant of Hector Vendolez here, and even more honored to learn she is a part of the Book of Vida, just like him. Hector had told me he talked to the greatest mage in all of the Off-Lands just to see who his heir would be. He would never stop talking about how happy and grateful he was that he would have a great granddaughter who would take on his role as the human in the prophecy. He would be thrilled to know what a great job she is doing at upholding his legacy.âÂ
Y/nâs mind instantly flew to the memory of getting beat up by Stinks. She cringed slightly, wrinkling her nose.Â
âNow with all of that out of the way, let the festivities begin!â Modi welcomed graciously.Â
The gates for the festival opened, toons and humans of all sizes, shapes, and colors raced in. Y/n, oddly with how energetic she was, walked slowly, making sure she kept pace with her friends. They entered through the gates, gazing around at everything. Mugman had an iron grip on Cuphead's arm so he wouldn't run off.Â
âSo where to go first?â Oswald asked, ready to explore.
"Well, I think it would be fine if we all split up, we can all meet back at the entrance at 3 PM, right?â Felix requested.
âSounds good. What time is it now?â Mugman piped in. Y/n checked her phone for the time.
â9:04 AMâ
âThat should give us plenty of time to do whatever.â Felix calculated. âWell guys, have fun!â He wandered off immediately after that.
âOh- ok, welp, Iâm going!â Y/n informed the others as she turned and walked off.
âWait up!âÂ
Y/n turned around to see Oswald bounding towards her.
âCan I come with you?â
âI donât see why not.â Y/n welcomed him to join her.
The duo walked throughout the festival until they reached the games. Y/n looked around and was in awe instantly once she caught sight of an odd plush. It seemed to be mixed with a duck and a bear. Whatever it was, she was determined to get it.
Oswald noticed she had stopped walking with him and was walking up to a booth.
âWhat are you doing, Y/n?â He asked kindly.
âI am winning myself a prize.â She spoke with passion as she pointed to Beck, the name she chose for the Bear-Duck hybrid.
Y/n handed the operator of the game a five dollar bill; it seemed like one of those generic carnival games. She had to chuck a baseball and knock down three milk jugs. Y/n was determined to win this prize, and she was not letting anyone stop her.
Oswald stood beside her as he observed her fiddle with the ball. He watched her move it around in her hands, getting a good feel and grip. She slowly got into a pitcher's stance and launched the ball.Â
It flew rapidly and hit the milk jugs at full speed. But instead of knocking them down, it bounced off and came flying back towards Y/n. She dove instantly out of instinct. The ball flew over her head and just so happened to crash into a toon's head behind her. She looked in horror as the toon turned around, turning pure red like in all the shows, with steam coming from the toon's ears.
âOh- Hey, Stinks..." Y/n chuckled nervously as she cowered, still crouched to the ground.Â
The skunk toon looked down on her, seething. Nothing but pure blind rage filled his eyes. He was less than a thread away from giving her a long and painful death, and thatâs an understatement.
Y/n stood up slowly and reached for Oswald's arm, not breaking eye contact with Stinks. Once she got a grip on Oswald's forearm, Y/n booked it. She was dragging Oswald behind while she ran through large crowds and groups. The screams and yells of anger flew from Stinks when he chased after them.
The two bolted around the entire festival. Y/n looked at Oswald, and he looked at her. The two laughed in joy from the chase.Â
Suddenly, âUFF-â ,Y/n crashed into someone and flew backwards. She fell about 6 feet away from the other person, letting go of Oswaldâs arm as she fell.
She rubbed her head, trying to orient herself. Y/nâs eyes shot open as she heard a familiar voice.
"Hey, watch where you're runnin- Y/n?âÂ
âOh! Hi, Bendy!â Y/n stood up with the help of Oswald.
"Hey, Bendy,â Oswald piped in.
âWhat are ya two doinâ runninâ âround here?â Bendy asked, curious as to why he was basically attacked with a body.
"Well, umm... it's a long story, so no need to talk about it!â Y/n sweatdropped, trying to cover up her recent encounter.
âShe hit Stinks with a baseball.â Oswald filled in nonchalantly.
âOswald!â Y/n shouted embarrassedly.
âYou what?!â Bendy was shocked for a second before bursting out in laughter. âHahaha! You- Hahah! You hi-hit Stinks with a-hahaha! Base- ball!â Bendy was about to double over in laughter. He had his hands on his knees, and his head hung low as he kept trying to catch his breath before bursting into laughter again.
Y/n looked around some, getting on her tiptoes to look over the heads of some toons and humans. "Hey, whereâs Lucy?â She finally asked after not spotting the princess anywhere nearby.Â
âGal told me to go ahead and look around, surprisingly. She was yappin with Modi.â Bendy finally caught his breath and stood up straight. âSo whatâcha doinâ now?â
âWe were just gonna keep exploring like before.â Oswald filled in, shrugging.Â
âMind if I tag along? Cool.â Bendy answered before either of the others could have a say.Â
âWha- uh ok," Y/n stuttered, not expecting to even want to join them.
The trio went on their jolly way, walking past many tents and games. Many toons and humans moved out of their way out of respect for the prince, the Vendolez, and their friend.Â
Finally, after walking for ages and having many leg cramps, they reached the section of rides and fun houses.
âLook at that, a mirror house! Iâve never been in one before; my mom always said they were âtoo shadyâ.â Y/n pointed to a mirror house not too far away from them.Â
"Well, letâs make it your first time today.â Oswald offered with a smile.
âSeems fun,â Bendy muttered as he followed them to the mirror house.
Once the three reached the entrance, Bendy turned to Oswald and Y/n. A devilish smirk flashed across his face. "The last one out has to buy lunch.â And with that, Bendy dashed into the mirror house.Â
âWhat?! Thatâs cheating; you got a head start!â Y/n shouted, chasing after him.
âDonât leave me behind!â Oswald called with laughter, running in there too.
Y/n caught glimpses of Bendy in the maze; he almost looked like he was dancing around them with how smooth his movements were. It made sense, though; he was a toon and an actor who had to dance, not uncommonly.Â
Y/n, on the other hand, wasnât doing the greatest. Being her first time, she would obviously be bad. But this... it seems impossible to be this bad at a mirror maze unless you're a toddler. Sheâd crash into almost every mirror there is, which had to be painful at this point. She wouldnât lie when she said that she wanted to collapse. Oswald caught up to her easily. As he ran past her, he turned around and stopped in front of her.
âNeed help?â Oswald chuckled, putting out his hand for Y/n to grab. She looked at him with a smile. âYes please.â Y/n took his hand, and he led her through the maze.
When they reached the end, they noticed Bendy was talking with someone in the distance. Looking closer, Y/n saw that it was Lucy.Â
Lucy was rambling on about who knows what with a close-eyed smile. Bendy, whoâd normally have an exhausted expression, was listening intently and looking head over heels.
Y/n didnât know why or what caused it, but she had a sudden, queasy feeling. She noticed how her fists were clenched tight. Y/n had to remind herself to relax. She looked over to Oswald, who was looking in a different direction. He seemed to be having a non verbal but a mouthing conversation with someone nearby. Y/n looked to where Oswald was mouthing; there was Panchito. He wasnât too far away, but far enough that a shout would have average volume.
âWhatâs he saying?â Y/n asked, looking back at Oswald.
Oswald glanced over to Y/n quickly. âHe's asking me if I want to walk with him, I think."
âOoh,â She dragged out the âoâ, nodding slowly and looking around. âYou can go if you want. I donât mind at all.â Y/n smiled at him, reassuring him that itâd be okay.
Oswald's expression was screaming hesitancy; he looked between Panchito and Y/n before nodding slightly. He began walking over to Panchito, the two smiling when they reached each other.Â
Y/n smiled more at the sight. She felt a tap on her shoulder and turned around, seeing Bendy behind her.Â
âHeya toots, whereâs Oswald goinâ?âÂ
âOh, Panchito wanted to walk with him, so he left.â She filled in.
âHe just left you?â Bendy asked, looking shocked.
âHuh? Oh no, I told him he could go if he wanted.âÂ
"Ooh, alright then. So itâs just us?âÂ
âWhat did Lucy want?â Y/n changed the subject. For some reason she didnât understand, she was curious about his love life.
âNothing much, just sayinâ something âbout practicing for the wedding tonight.â Bendy brushed it off with a shrug. She felt like he wasnât telling her everything, but who was she to accuse her friend?
âWell, I guess I owe you some lunch?â Y/n checked her phone. 11:53 AM already?Â
âYes. Yes, you do.â Bendy answered, his head held high and in a cocky tone.
Y/n chortled quietly. They both began to walk towards the food stands, discussing what they should get.
âYou need something more than that.â
âDonât tell me what I need to eat; you donât even eat.â
"Yes, I do! Just cause Iâm a toon doesnât mean Iâm invincible to starvation.â
âWhatever. Iâm getting fries and a slushy for lunch.â
Y/n was trying to convince Bendy that fries and a slushy were just fine; she wasnât that hungry anyway. Lucy always made sure they were stuffed at breakfast. The two continued to banter back and forth until it was their turn to order.
Y/n forced Bendy to be the one to talk if she gave the money. She did not want to talk to a random person today. They saw that the attendant was a teenager, probably younger than Y/n, who looked like he wanted to get flung into the sun rather than be here. This made her frown a little, but she didnât dwell much on it.Â
After waiting around 5 minutes, their food arrived. Bendy had gotten just a slushy, and Y/n had gotten her delectable fries and slushy.
The duo walked to a nearby bench and sat next to each other.
âWait, what flavor did you get?â Bendy glanced to her when he asked.
âOh, blue flavor.â Y/n responded in between fries.
Bendy gave her a look that read, âExcuse you?â
âWhat did you say?âÂ
âHuh? Uhh, blue flavor? Whatâs wrong?â
âY/nâ, Bendy let out a long exhale, âblue flavor? Do you mean Blue Raspberry?â
âNo, I mean blue flavor.â She stopped eating, squinting her eyes at him.
âBlue flavor doesnât exist.âÂ
âUh yeah. It does. Iâm drinking it right now.â Her tone became more defensive.
âNo, youâre drinking blue raspberry.â Now he was squinting with his pie cut eyes.
"Nuh, uh, itâs blue. So itâs blue flavor.âÂ
âThatâs not how it works-â
âIâm sorry, have you ever seen a blue raspberry? No, I didnât think so.â Y/n sassed him.
âThatâs not the point-â
âItâs exactly the point!â She cut him off.
"Ugh, youâre impossible.â Bendy groaned.
âYouâre just too involved in society. I like being out here; itâs like a big break from life! Other than you know, having to fight for my reputation, being bullied by a skunk, and still probably being hunted down.â Y/n leaned back on the bench, shivering slightly at the thought of Pib still hunting her.
âYeah, itâs nice out here.â Bendy sighed dreamily, going into a fantasy.Â
Y/n looked over to his lovesick expression, fighting back a small gag. He was obviously thinking of someone he loves, and anybody would have figured out it was Lucy he was thinking of.Â
Y/n let out a silent sigh, looking away from him. A feeling of resentment filled her gut. Her jaw tightened, losing her appetite.Â
âI think I might walk on my own for a bit. Sorry, Bendy.â Y/n stood up, not looking in his direction.
âHuh, what? Why?â He looked at her with a slightly shocked face.
âNothing against you, obviously!â She reassured. âI just want to be on my own for a little while.â
"Oh, that makes sense; alright, well, Iâll go find Lucy, cya.â Bendy stood up and gave her a small wave of goodbye before walking off to find Lucy.
Y/n gave him a small wave back, muttering âBye.â
âOf course he wants to go to her.â Y/n thought bitterly. She began walking back to the games section of the festival.Â
After arriving in the section alone, she found herself in the same area where she and Oswald ran from Stinks. Y/n looked around for a bit, finding an interesting game nearby. It didnât seem too difficult; just spray a water gun into a target and try to get the water to the top first.Â
âMight as well give it a shot.â She mumbled.
Y/n walked up to the booth and laid a $5 bill on the counter. The operator pointed to a water gun close by. She sat down, aimed, and pulled the trigger. Water spewed out and hit the target, but after a hot second, the water changed direction. This confused Y/n greatly. What was going on? She didnât change her position, did she? No, was it wind? No, there wasnât any of that either.Â
Y/n looked around in confusion until she saw the operator snickering at her. Y/nâs eyebrows furrowed, and she straightened her back. Fine. If the operator found this funny, she would just have to win. Y/n saw that the water gun was not shooting water any more but simply dripping. She sighed and placed another five dollar bill on the counter. The operator snatched the money and clicked a button. Y/nâs water gun spit out water once again.Â
She did the same as before, but this time she planned out the directional change. Once the water twisted, she followed its movement with her gun. The water rose higher up in the transparent tube, but once the water reached just under œ way, it stopped. Y/n looked at her gun; the water was shooting much higher than before. What was going on?! She let out a mix of a groan and a yell when the turn was over.
Y/n reached into her pocket and pulled out another $5 bill, knowing she was going broke just in spite of the operator. What she didnât expect was a similar voice to come from behind her.Â
âNeed help?âÂ
Y/n turned around, spotting a similar ceramic.
âI donât need your help.â She stuck her nose up in the air.
âReally? Because it sure looks like you do.â Cuphead smirked, fighting back a laugh. âHere, move over.âÂ
âFine.â Y/n stood up out of her stool to let Cuphead take her place. He quickly sat down and slammed five dollars on the counter. The operator took it with a smirk, not confident in Cuphead at all.Â
Once the water gun started again, Cuphead moved it in a calculated manner, like he knew which trick came next. After less than a minute, the bell was dinging, signaling that they had won the game.
âSo, do you admit you needed help now?â He looked at her with an expectant expression.
Y/n tapped her finger to her chin, pretending to think. âMmmm, no.â A smile graced her features.
âHereâs your prize.â The operator grumbled, handing Cuphead a plush dog. It oddly resembled Spunk. Cuphead took the prize and held it out in front of Y/n.Â
âFor you, doll.â He smiled goofily.
âHow sweet of you.â She took the prize gently; it was a medium sized plush, just a little bigger than her head. Y/n tucked the plush under her arm and took out her phone, checking the time.
âShoot! Itâs already 2:49 PM; we have to hurry!â Y/n exclaimed anxiously. She put her phone away and held onto the plush in one hand, grabbing Cuphead with her other hand and pulling him with her as she ran.
They weaved throughout the crowd, trying not to accidentally trample on any grandparents or children. Y/n had a feeling of deja vu from running this way earlier with Oswald, trying to escape Stinks and his wrath.
âDo you even know where youâre going?â Cuphead shouted to her as they ran.
âNot at all! But I remember some little landmarks here!â She called back to him, noticing the familiar homeless guy from earlier.
âAUGH-â Y/n tripped over herself and was sent tumbling into another body. Deja Vu was really hitting on her now, huh?Â
The two bodies rolled over each other before coming to a halt. Y/n was on her back, eyes clamped shut, groaning from the pain of the sudden impact. She felt a shadow cast over her, and she squinted her eyes open. Panchito was standing over her.Â
âÂĄHola, querida! ÂżPor quĂ© estabas corriendo? ÂżEstĂĄs bien, cariño?â Panchito rambled, grabbing her hand and helping her up. Once she was on her feet, she noticed everyone else was there.
"Oh, uh, hey guys.â She gave a small wave and an embarrassed smile. Looking around more, she saw Felix being helped up by Oswald.Â
âOh jeez, Felix, did I run into you? Iâm so sorry! Are you alright?â She panicked, scared he might be upset at her.
"Yeah, it was me, but donât worry! Iâm a-ok.â He tried calming her worries, which worked. Felix had this calming effect on her, and she wasnât sure how.
âSo, why were you two running?â Mugman piped up.
âShe was worried we were going to be late to meet you guys.â Cuphead filled in.Â
âSpeaking of which...â Y/n trailed off, pulling out her phone to check the time. â2:59 PM! Right before 3 PM!âÂ
âGotta give ya that; you rush when you're panicking.â Bendy pointed it out.
âAll for the greater good.â Y/n crossed her arms.
âSo,â Oswald clapped his hands together, âwhat now?â
The entirety of the group looked over to Felix.Â
âUh- go back to the palace." Felixâ voice was wavering.
âSounds good to me.â âYeah sure.â âIâm tired anyway.â âWhy not?â âPlease.â âIâm ok with that.â
They all agreed, making their way towards the exit. When they were walking, Y/n was looking around, wanting to take in the sights of the Namahadi Fire Festival before they left. That was until she spotted Stinks not too far from her. Y/nâs whole body tensed as she spun back around and speed walked towards the exit.
âWhatâs wrong, Y/n?â Mugman asked, curious as to why she was walking faster.
âStinks.â That was all she answered. Bendy and Oswald shared a look and held back laughter. Panchito looked at the two, puzzled. But, oddly enough, he didnât say anything about it.
After finally reaching the exit, Y/n relaxed, letting her shoulders drop and exhaling a breath she didnât know she was holding in. She slowed her pace, now in step with Felix.
âSo, how did you like today?â He asked thoughtfully, awaiting her answer.
Y/n thought for a moment before replying. âIt wasâŠ.adventurous. But in a good way.âÂ
âThatâs nice to hear. Iâm glad you had a good day.â Felix responded with a content tone.
âHow about you? How was your day?â Y/n questioned him kindly.
âIt was nice. Calm is a good way of describing it. Or as calm as it can get at a densely populated festival.â Felix filled in, speaking truthfully.
"Awh, thatâs nice. Iâm happy for you.âÂ
The two shared a gentle smile with each other. Y/n enjoyed spending time with Felix; he was so calm and content yet knew how to enjoy life and have fun. Likewise, Felix loved spending time with Y/n. She was like a refreshing breath you take when you see gorgeous scenery.Â
They walked at the back of the group in a comforting silence.Â
After a little bit of walking, Y/n stopped and looked down at the ground in front of her. She crouched down to get a better look. "Hey, look at these, Felix!â He stopped and looked down at where she was crouched. Felix got into a low stance, mimicking hers.Â
âThose are Gardenia flowers. They symbolize a secret love. They also signify joy and purity and are associated with thoughts of beauty.â He informed her, stealing a glance at Y/n when he told her what they symbolized. âGood eye, Y/n!â Felix praised her, standing up and offering her hand to help her up too.
Y/n took his hand when she stood. âThatâs beautiful.â She smiled, referencing the flowers, and let go of his hand. The two hurried along to catch up with the others before they reached the palace.Â
Once the group reached the palace, Bendy was already being stolen away by Lucy, who had come back to the palace immediately after talking to Bendy earlier. Everybody else dispersed on their own. As much as Y/n wanted to go take a nap, she was curious about what more King Modi knew about Hector.Â
She began walking down a random hallway, hoping to find King Modi eventually. As she walked, sheâd read the labels for each room.
âGuest Bedroomâ âPet Storageâ âPet Storageâ âGuest Bedroomâ âStorageâ âBedroom Storageâ âArmoryâÂ
"Ok, weird jump.â Y/n muttered as she kept walking and reading.
âArmoryâ âTraining Storageâ âJewelry Storageâ âClothing Storageâ âArmoryâ âHectorâs Possessionsâ âDining Storageâ âWeapon Stora-
Wait
Y/n walked backwards a few steps and gawked at the door in front of her. Her mouth opened the slightest bit, and her eyes were the size of saucer plates.Â
She kept staring, not moving her eyes away from the label. Y/n wasnât sure what to do and was too shocked to even move.Â
Slowly, she closed her mouth and swallowed heavily. She blinked a few times, trying to see if it was a hallucination from her desperation.Â
After realizing it wasnât a hallucination, she quickly looked around in a panic. After seeing no one in the hallway, not even staff, which was strange given that there always seemed to be some around every corner, she put her hand on the handle.
Y/n waited a second to see if anything would happen, but nothing came. With the excitement and anxiety rushing inside her, she flung the door open.Â
Y/n took in a huge gasp of air. The entire room was full of things Hector had owned. From arrows to trophies to shoes, everything looked in pristine condition and was taken care of; not a single speck of dust was found. The room turned out to be a long hallway of sorts, with items filling up the walls from the floor to the high ceiling.
She took a step inside. Then another. And another. As Y/n walked, she turned in a slow circle while walking to get a view of everything, running her hands softly along items on the walls. Once she was facing forward again, she was in front of the end of the hallway. Standing straight in front of her was a suit that was held in a glass case. Not any old suit, though. This looked to be a generalâs or kingâs suit.Â
It was a royal blue with golden shoulder pads and tassels hanging. Medals were adorned all over the suit, all different styles, but all gold. Two straps were crossed across the suit's torso.Â
Y/n looked more until she saw a plaque with the engraving that read, âThe Royal Suit of Hector Vendolez.âÂ
That made sense; after all, it was a room dedicated to him.
So, this was Hector's suit. He must have worn it with pride.
As Y/n stared, she noticed how the suit looked to almost fit her exactly. Only if she was a tad taller, maybe the height of an average adult male, then it might fit her. But when she stared into the glass, her reflection was wearing the suit.
What would Hector think of her? Would she even be worthy enough to wear his suit? Probably not. He seemed perfect in every way that she wasnât, which was basically everything. He had courage where she has fear. He had pride where she has shame.
Y/n looked away from her reflection, a pressure building onto her shoulders. Maybe coming in here was a bad idea.
She began walking to the exit of the hall solemnly, not daring to look back at the suit.Â
When she reached the doorway, she quickly glanced around in case anyone was nearby. Like earlier, nobody was there. Still odd, but whatever, as long as she wasnât caught.
Y/n tiptoed out of the room and shut the door silently behind her. Once it was shut, she stood up straight and began walking to the bedroom. On the way there, through all the parlors, halls, and stairways, she checked her phone.
â7:20 PM?!â Y/n reeled back from her phone in shock. She spent over 3 hours in that room without realizing it. She quickened her pace, skipping steps and jogging down corridors, dodging staff to not crash into them at every bend.
Finally, she slowed her jog to a walk, catching her breath from the massive palace. Recognizing this as the hallway leading to the shared room, she straightened her appearance so she didnât look like she had been attacked by a shark tornado.Â
She was directly outside the doors to the room. Y/n finished fixing her hair, and immediately after, the doors swung open.Â
âOh- Hey doll face!â Cuphead greeted her with a relieved looking smile.
âHey Cuphead.â She smiled warmly.
âWhere were ya? We was all gettinâ worried up here.â He chuckled. Before Y/n could respond, Felix walked out and gasped at the sight of Y/n.
Felix rushed up to her and grabbed her face in his hands. He moved her head around to see her whole face.
âAre you ok?! Where were you? Did Stinks find you? Pib?!?!â The feline asked frantically, not giving her a chance to respond.
âLeave the kid alone, Felix. Youâre supposed to be the sane one.â A stern voice piped in.Â
Ruck walked out of the room and stopped in front of Y/n, an intimidating aura surrounding him.
Felix immediately backed off and let Ruck talk with his great niece.
âSo, kid, mind telling me where you were?â Ruck asked in a low voice; enjoyment was a wasteland in his tone.
âUhâŠIâŠum..â Y/n struggled to find the words. How would she explain that she found a freight load of her great grandfatherâs, and Ruck's brother's possessions stashed away in a useless hallway of the castle?
Ruck raised an eyebrow expectantly.
"I will tell you later, when weâre alone.â Y/n trailed off, sighing and looking to the ground.
âI will keep you to that.â Ruck spoke before turning and walking back inside.
Felix stayed out in the hallway with Y/n for a minute, eventually turning to her. âCâmon, Lucy wants us and the other toons in the ballroom for wedding preparations.âÂ
Y/n let out a silent groan, not looking forward to more work today. Truth be told, she was about to pass out from exhaustion.
Not even a minute later, the other toons walked out of the room too.Â
âÂĄHola Y/n!â Panchito chirped, walking next to her.
âHey Panchito.â Y/n smiled at him kindly.
The group walked down to the ballroom, everyone talking amongst themselves. Panchito and Y/n were having a long conversation and a theory on the strangest topic.Â
"Ok, but hear me out, Christmas should be longer than a singular day.â
âSĂ, sĂ, I agree.â
âThank you! Seriously, I bought all these decorations and a tree for a single day? Make it a month! Or two!â
Panchito nodded along, listening intently to Y/n ramble. He liked listening to her. As much as he talked and loved it, he loved listening to her more. He would agree with anything she had to say; even if he didnât understand it, he would try for her.
After what seemed like eons, they reached the ballroom. Pushing the grand doors open, the group was flooded with lights and music.
There were only two people inside the ballroom, Bendy and Lucy. They seemed to be waiting, probably for the group to arrive. As soon as the doors opened and made a loud groan, the two shot their heads over to the entrance.
"Oh, there you all are! Come in, come in! I have something important to teach you all.â Lucyâs cheerful voice never faltered, only growing brighter.Â
The group walked in, and Lucy immediately ran forward and took hold of Y/nâs arm.
âWhat- uh- ok?â Y/n wasnât sure how to react to Lucy grabbing her. It wasnât a tight grip, just a shocking one.
âI will be teaching you all how to waltz! Panchito, can you come here?â Lucy dragged Y/n out to the center of the ballroom floor.
âÂĄSĂ!â Panchito sauntered over.
Once Panchito reached the girls, Lucy started getting Y/n and Panchito into a waltz position.
Y/n tried to fight back her blush when Panchito put his hand on her waist. Alas, she lost the battle when her cheeks were painted a rosy pink.
She rested her hand on Panchito's shoulder, following the instructions of Lucy.Â
âOk, when I start the music, just move in square form.â Lucy instructed as she walked over to where a music box was. She clicked a button labeled "Play." A slow waltz played in the room, and the duo took this as their que.Â
They danced semi-gracefully; actually, it was only Y/n struggling. Panchito seemed to be liquid smooth with his movements.Â
She would look down at her feet to plan her next movements and try to copy him.
âQuerida. Donât look at our feet; look at me.â
Panchitos voice was as smooth as a silk dress freshly ironed. His words wrapped around Y/n like a ribbon on a gift.Â
Panchito quietly instructed her on what movements to make, softly counting 1-2-3-4 to keep track of their movements. He would make sure she was following along, even though there was no way she couldnât.
His soft voice enveloped her in a daze-like dance, moving her body while her mind was trying to fight off every romantic feeling in herself.
Eventually, after Y/n got the hang of the square waltz, Panchito added his own movements. Instead of facing the same way the whole time, he would spin the two around. The world disappeared around them; only they remained in their dance.Â
Panchito twirled Y/n and dipped her as the song ended.Â
Panchito slowly raised her back up. âÂĄFantĂĄstico!â He praised her.Â
Y/n didnât know what to say, so she stayed quiet but was smiling widely.
âGreat! Just like that!â Lucy congratulated them.Â
Unbeknownst to the duo and Lucy, the other toons looked on with jealousy, dread, or rage clouding their senses.
âWell. I think itâs time we're done here.â Bendy's voice was sharp and to the point.Â
âYes, I think we should all sleep.â Oswald agreed, his voice sounding more distant than normal.
"Yeah, Iâm pretty tired. Bye Lucy!â Y/n waved goodbye as she and the rest left the ballroom. On the way back to the room, nobody was talking at all. The atmosphere was so tense that it could lead to cardiac arrest.
Y/n and Panchito gave each other worried glances but didnât dare say anything.
Eventually, after arriving at the room, everyone went to their respective areas. Ruck was sitting on the bed and immediately pulled Y/n away from the rest to a more private area.
âSo. Are you going to tell me now?â
âOh yeah, uhm, how do I say thisâŠâ Y/n trailed off, thinking for a moment before going to a whisper just for Ruck to hear.Â
âEarlier, I went down a hallway to go in search of King Modi to ask him about...Hector. I couldn't find him, but I did find a room labeled âHectors Possessionsâ. I went in, and itâs a long hallway full of items that Hector owned. There was even a royal suit there.â Y/n filled in quickly.
Ruck's face went through a series of emotions before going to his neutral poker face.
âOk.â That was all he said.
âHuh?â Y/n was confused by his reaction.
âGo to sleep. We have to train tomorrow at dawn.â Ruck began to walk out of the bedroom.
Y/n simply nodded, going to her bed and burying herself in the blanket. She fell asleep instantly into a dreamless sleep. Oh, how she needed this.
I finished it! Itâs so late but a friend gave me the idea of why not make it a New Years gift? Jeez, I canât believe we are in 2024 already! Time flies so fast. Anyways, here ya go! Eat up! I am seriously so sorry this took forever, I didnât mean for it to take this long but most all my family came over for Christmas Break and then I went on vacation so it took a while. But I still got it done, thatâs good right? So uhh here it is!! I hope you like it :D I worked really hard on this:) ALSO RQ, this wonât follow the plot of the og Nutcracker exactly. I had to make changes here and there but I mostly based it off the Sweden Ballet and the Boston Ballet plots. Ok that should be all, enjoy!!

Laughter and chatter could be heard from the mansion up on the hill. Snow fell calmly outside, the soft winter breeze whisking snowflakes into small spirals before gracefully setting them upon the frosted ground.
Inside the mansion, there was a grand party taking place at the ballroom. Within the party, the host and hostess were walking throughout the Christmas party and welcoming guests. Their only child, Y/n, was talking with the other kids her age. The young 17-year-old was about to turn 18 just a few days after Christmas. The hostess, M/n, waved her daughter over.
When Y/n reached them, M/n handed her an ornament and gestured to the tree. The young girl smiled brightly, nodding and taking a box of ornaments from nearby. Walking over to the tree, Y/n showed the ornaments to the other kids her age. They all took a few ornaments and ran around the tree, trying to find a good place to put theirs.
After a good 20 minutes, the tree was glistening with ornaments, lights, tinsel, and garland, with some random nick-nacks here and there. Y/n and the others took a few steps back to admire their work until a giant gust of wind and the sound of slamming doors caught everyone's attention. All heads whipped to where the sound and wind came fromâthe grand front doors. Standing in the doorway, shaking off snow, were two people.
Unwrapping their scarves and taking off their hats and coats was revealed to be Y/nâs favorite, and only, uncles. Hector and Ruck Vendolez. The famous adventuring brothers. A glimmering smile enveloped Y/nâs face as she ran up to her two uncles, jumping up onto Hector.
Hector was at first shocked, almost falling over, but after regaining his balance, he hugged his only niece back. Hector spun them in a circle, boisterous laughter arising from the duo. Ruck backed up a little, not fond of physical touch, but had the ghost of a smile.
After hugging for a little bit, the duo parted ways. Y/n turned to Ruck with a much more gentle smile. Ruck rolled his eyes and sighed playfully, opening his arms for the girl. Her gentle smile grew, and she rushed into a hug, holding her cold uncle close.
The hug only lasted a few moments, but it meant the world to both of them. Finally breaking the hug, Y/n grabbed both her uncles hands and dragged them to see the tree that she and other kids helped decorate. Ruck looked at the tree and ruffled Y/n's hair before walking over to her parents. Hector seemed to be lost in thought when gazing at the Christmas tree. Y/n looked over to him with a slight confusion written on her face. She raised her hand and slowly waved it up and down in front of her uncle's eyes. Flinching, Hector came back to reality, offering his only niece a close-eyed smile.
Only now did Y/n notice that Hector was carrying somethingâa box, it seemed. Y/n gestured to the box, as if asking what it was. Hector took a glance at the present and crouched down, putting it under the tree. The tag on it clearly read, âTo: Y/n. From: Your favorite uncleâ.
Standing back up, Hector noticed Y/n hiding her quiet laughter behind her hand. He tilted his head, making Y/n point to the tag. A chuckle left his mouth. The older one made his way over to his brother Ruck and his sister, M/n, the hostess. Y/n, having nothing better to do, walked back to her new acquaintances.

A few hours passed with games and food and many conversations, but now it was finally time to open the gifts. Everybody found a gift for themselves, and they all sat or stood around the great ballroom.
It took a little while, but all the gifts had been opened. All but one. A simple box that Y/n recognized as the one Hector had earlier sat in Y/nâs lap.
M/n raised her hands to quiet everyone down, then looked to her daughter. Y/n felt all eyes on her, and she wouldnât lie; she was getting a little uncomfortable with all the attention, yet she powered through. Slowly, she unwrapped the present dedicated to her. A soft gasp left Y/nâs mouth when she saw the gift.
A nutcracker.
And not any nutcracker. It seemed to resemble the demon toon, Bendy, from the popular show Bendy, The Dancing Demon. But instead of his normal attire in a classic tuxedo with suspenders, he is wearing a noble soldier suit.
Y/n had stars in her eyes, moving Bendyâs arms up and down a little. She was in absolute amazement at the gift, like a trance had overcome her. She hugged the gift tightly with a bright smile. This present meant the entire world to her. A younger girl next to Y/n held her hands out for the nutcracker; her body language read that she wanted to hold Bendy. Y/n being polite, let the girl hold her new friend. But alas, it seemed the younger girl didnât know what manners were.
Showing her friend next to her, the girl passed the present around the circle, not asking for Y/nâs permission. Shocked but too scared to say anything, Y/n was peeved with a valid reason. That was her gift! And these kids just messed with it like it was an old, rotting, cheap toy.
About halfway through the circle, a boy and a girl got into an argument about who got the toy. Their voices grew over the chatting adults. Another boy joined the first boys side, resulting in two girls joining the original girls side. It didnât take long before every kid in the circle, excluding Y/n, had gotten on a side. Boys are on the left, and girls are on the right. The boy and girl who started this whole ordeal both took part in the nutcracker and pulled.
Underestimating how well it could hold together, the nutcracker flew from both pairs of hands, and the head snapped from the torso of the toy. The entire ballroom became deathly quiet. In shock and panic, each kid backed away from the now-broken gift. Y/n emerged from the crowd and covered her mouth with her hands.
Tears began to well into her eyes, and terror and grief screamed from her body language. Walking forward and kneeling down to her ruined present, she took the head and body in her hands. Looking over to where Hector and Ruck stood, Y/n was about to cry. This was a handmade gift from her uncles; after all, thought and tedious effort went into it, and now it was ruined all because she couldnât say no.
When Hector made eye contact with his near-sobbing niece, he felt his heart shatter into billions of pieces. He quickly rushed over to Y/n, Ruck following close behind. Hector crouched on Y/nâs left, with Ruck on her right. Ruck placed a hand on her back to help soothe her while his brother took the nutcracker. Hector gently took the gift from his niece's hands and turned away so Y/n didnât have to see him brutally put the pieces back together.
Hector pushed and twisted the head and torso together until they were firmly connected. He tipped the toy upside down and shook it, making sure the head wouldnât come off again. Turning back to his niece and brother, Hector gracefully handed Y/n the gift back.
Her expression went from shock to tears and laughter mixed together. Rubbing her eyes, she wrapped her arms around Hector in a giant bear hug. Ruck stood up with a faint smile and began walking back to his sister and brother-in-law, with Hector soon following.
~~
Hours had passed, and everyone had left now. Y/n and M/n were in the hallway to the bedrooms, bidding goodnight to each other. Once the two parted ways, Y/n walked into her bedroom with the nutcracker in her grasp.
When she reached the bed, she set the nutcracker down on her nightstand and turned off the small lamp that illuminated the room. Dozing off almost immediately, she woke up just as abruptly. After waking up, she heard the grandfather clock in the ballroom strike 12. And judging by how dark it was out the window still, Y/n guessed it was 12 a.m.
Shooting herself up into a sitting position, Y/n heard noises coming from the ballroom just down the hall. Slowly creeping out of her bed, Y/n hadnât noticed that her nutcracker wasnât on the nightstand anymore.
Walking over to the door and opening it slowly, Y/n peeked out to make sure nobody was there. After seeing nobody in the halls, Y/n tiptoed as fast as she could to the ballroom. When she finally reached the doors, Y/n slipped through them quietly. Making sure she shut the doors behind her. Y/n walked into the room, looking around for what could have made the noise. A scurrying noise sounded behind her, startling the poor girl. Y/n whipped around to see what couldâve caused the scritches on the hardwood floor but found nothing there. Suspicion wrote itself into Y/nâs expression as she raised an eyebrow and slowly turned back to her original position. Another scurrying noise was heard from her left, and Y/n swung to face the noise. Again, there was nothing there.
And with the distraction, she felt clawed hands wrap around her waist and mouth, muffling her yells of protest. Kicking, hitting, and flailing did no good against her attacker. Y/n felt herself being thrown into a metal confinement. Getting up quickly, she saw that she was in a large metal cage that resembled that of a bird's cage. It looked like the one she used to have for her red parrot so many years ago. She missed Panchito, her parrot, so much. But now was not the time for memories. Y/n looked around through the bars of the cage, seeing large humanoid rats partying around the ballroom.
Her parents were going to kill her if they saw this mess! Y/n tried to bang the bars and shout to get the rats to stop, but her attempts at attention were drowned out by the volume of the rats. Y/n felt helpless; no one was there to save her. Loud footsteps could be heard walking towards the ballroom. All the rats heard it and instantly got down on their knees, bowing in pure silence. The girl was frozen in her spot, petrified at what could make the rambunctious rats stop their antics so suddenly.
From one of the side hallways emerged a humanoid rat, taller than any of the others. It had a crown adorning its head and a giant faux-fur cape. The rat was dressed in kingly attire. How the rat seemed to acquire these garments was beyond Y/n. Referencing its physical appearance, Y/n opted to name it âThe Rat Kingâ. The Rat King strutted in with his head held high, pride radiating off of him. When the Rat King was in the center of the room, he lifted his clawed hands and began a party of his very own. Cheers from the rats that sounded the shrills broke out amongst them.
The rats' cacophony noises bellowed throughout the ballroom, and it made Y/n wonder how none of the servants or her parents had come in yet. A loud banging of a knock was heard at the doors Y/n entered through, and hope glimmered through herâmaybe her parents had woken up? Every creature in the room went dead silent, confused or scared. The Rat King tilted his head in confusion but didnât move. Another knock was heard, a little harsher this time. After a few seconds passed, the knocker must have realized nobody would answer. At least thatâs what Y/n was guessing when the doors flung open with a mighty kick. Standing in the doorway was a human figure, and Y/n let out a gasp, recognizing who it was immediately. Her eyes widened, and all her breath left her lungs in a state of horror and shock.
There he was. The Nutcracker. Walking towards the Rat King like it was a daily affair. Y/n pressed her back to the furthest bars in the cage, trying to get away from the whole ordeal. She watched as the Nutcracker, whom she named Bendy for his appearance, stalked towards the Rat King. No expression was written on Bendyâs face; for being alive, he looked to still keep all his wooden attributes. She watched with an open mouth as Bendy stopped walking and reached to his side, pulling out glistening metal. The steel blade pierced through the light of the glowing candle embers that decorated the ballroom graciously.
The wooden toy gripped the handle of the blade firmly. His painted eyes could only stare lifelessly at the creature in front of him. And with a sudden spark of life, Bendy slashed his sword at the Rat King. Stunned, the Rat King jumped back and swung his sharp claws at Bendy. The two fought as Y/n and the other rats watched in awe.
Sharp clangs from claws on metal rang throughout the room like church bells. The Rat King and Bendy fought like a dance: one step forward, one step left, two steps back, one step right, repeat. The males moved in a circular formation during the dance. Neither seemed to have the upper or lower hand at any time; it was a well-even match. That was until the Rat King wrapped his tail around Bendy's leg and dragged him to the floor, pressing his long claws against Bendyâs wooden neck and beginning to split the wood. Frightened, Y/n reached down and took off her shoe, throwing it through the bar gaps and hitting the Rat King on the back of the head. Distracted and furious, the Rat King let go of Bendy and looked to Y/n. This gave Bendy the chance to drive his sword through the Rat King's back. A shrill pierced through the air, and the Rat King fell to the ground lifelessly.
The rats screeched in panic and ran around the ballroom in disorganized chaos. Amongst this chaos, Y/n couldnât see her nutcracker anymore and closed her eyes tight as a bright light filled the room for a split second. When the light had vanished, Y/n slowly opened her eyes to see Bendy, who was no longer wood but now a living being in prince attire, offering her a hand to help her out of the newly broken cage. Taking his hand carefully, Y/n hopped out of the cage. And in the moment of pure impulse and gratefulness, Y/n placed a soft kiss on Bendyâs cheek.
In shock but with a giddy smile and a flustered expression, Bendy put a hand up to the cheek Y/n had kissed. Shaking away his embarrassment and fluster, he held his hand out to Y/n as an offer. Y/n tilted her head in confusion, not knowing what he was offering. Bendy made a sweeping motion with his hand behind the two of them, as if to offer a journey. Y/n looked behind her to the doorway that led to her parents bedroom. She turned her attention back to Bendy and nodded slowly, putting her hand in his.
The nutcracker prince led the two of them to the grand entrance doors that would lead them outside. When Bendy opened the doors, Y/n shivered at the cold air rushing inside. Y/n just realized that she had been wearing her pajamas this whole time. Feeling a little embarrassed, Y/n covered her body with her open arm. In front of the duo was a sleigh, all decked with decor, with reins holding onto two pristine white horses. Their coats gleamed in the winter moon, and snow fell invisibly upon them. Her eyes widened in surprise. When did this get here? Bendy led the teen to the passenger side of the sleigh and helped her into it. When Y/n was situated, the prince walked around and got into the driver's side. He made sure Y/n was sitting comfortably before shaking the reins with a low-medium force, signaling the horses to begin trotting forward.
Not expecting the sudden movement, Y/n fell back a little into Bendyâs side. But he didnât seem to mind. While still keeping a hand on the reins, the nutcracker helped his companion back to a proper sitting position. Embarrassed once more, the teen looked away with a sheepish blush covering her upper cheeks. Eventually getting over her self-shame, Y/n took a chance to look around.
Through the darkened night, snowflakes danced down in a waltz. The wind sang its winter song, and the moon shone down in the spotlight of the snowy stage called Earth. The horses strode undisputed through the snow, letting the sleigh glide effortlessly across the snow. As they rode onward, the quartet of beings entered a forest. Y/n was in awe of the beauty of the trees. She couldnât tell what type of trees they all were with how dark it was, but Y/n noticed the Willow branches drooping near the path. Only the bioluminescent mushrooms made the trunks of the trees known. Sparkling icicles on the branches reflected the moon's loving gaze.
Soon they arrived at an open area within the center of the forest. The horses directed the sleigh to the edge of the clearing and stopped there for a break. As if on cue of the horses stopping, soldiers in blue and white clothing and snowflake designs stomped into the clearing. The soldiers stood in two perfectly parallel lines. Bendy stood up in the sleigh and put one hand on Y/nâs shoulder, holding her tightly, and his other hand was placed on the hilt of his sword, which was sheltered in its scabbard. But thankfully, before any fighting could happen, two other figures walked between the soldiers. The two figures had their arms linked to each other. Like the soldiers, they were wearing blue and white attire with snowflake patterns.
The two figures, male and female, looked like a king and a queen. It would fit in with the soldiers if they were the rulers. The king and queen walked up next to the sleigh and introduced themselves, adding that they meant no harm and did not mean to frighten Y/n and Bendy. The nutcracker in question slowly sat down and released his grip on his hilt, keeping his hand on Y/nâs shoulder as he kept a close eye on the royalty. Y/n smiled brightly and greeted the monarchs, introducing herself and Bendy since he was too busy watching them with a glare to try and be friendly.
After chatting for a bit, the Snow King and Queen (as they were named) offered Y/n and Bendy to dance. At first, Y/n and Bendy were both going to decline. Y/n declined for the fact she was still in her pajamas and the cold, and Bendy had to âuphold his dignityâ. But his mind changed the moment he took a glance at Y/n, seeing how her face was illuminated in the moonlight. Quietly and unknowing to his female friend, Bendy exited the sleigh and walked around the back of it so as not to disturb the horses. When he finally reached the side with royalty, he nodded in agreement for a dance. Turning to face Y/n, he held his hand out to her as an invitation. Taken aback, Y/n tilts her head slightly with a nervous smile. Bendy returned the smile, but with a more welcoming feel. He kept his hand held out, and Y/n stared at it for a few moments before letting out a sigh and taking his hand.
Bendy helped Y/n out of the sleigh as the two companions and the royalty made their way to the center of the clearing. With both duos in the correct stance, the dance began. The soldier snowflakes had taken out some instruments and began to play music to help accommodate a waltz. As the music began, the prince led the unlikely duo into a beautiful waltz. Soft music glimmered around the icicles and flowed around the two dancers like a calm stream not yet frozen by the winter. Being so distracted by each other, Y/n and Bendy hadnât noticed the king and queen had stopped dancing to watch the young love.
As the music went on and on, Bendy couldnât help but get lost in Y/nâs eyes. Her eyes dazzled in a beauty that was lost to the world. Dancing with her was something he would have never expected to do. Y/n was simply mesmerized throughout the dance. She couldnât explain her feelings based on how fast they were going around inside her. It was only a few minutes of dancing, but it felt like an eternity that neither of them wanted to leave. Alas, the music soon stopped, and Bendy dipped Y/n down. They stayed like that for a moment, taking in the moment and staring at each other like there was nothing else important in the world and only this mattered. After a few seconds, Bendy cleared his throat and brought Y/n up and out of the dip. Y/n rubbed the back of her neck and looked away in embarrassment. It took a bit, but eventually they both got over their fluster. When they did, both Y/n and Bendy thanked the king and queen for the dance invitation and the peace before getting back into the sleigh.
When both were situated in their spots, Bendy took the reins and whipped them softly. Y/n turned and gave the king and queen a farewell wave, with the royalty waving back. Now facing forward, Y/n took a few side glances at Bendy to see what he was doing. The prince in question had a look of focus and deep thought in his expression. Not wanting to disturb his mind, Y/n just looked at the scenery around them. It was still clearly night and would stay like that for quite a while, but that didnât take away from nature's delightful view. The way the frost laid itself upon the passing tree branches so gracefully was simply angelic. It didnât take long for Y/n to notice all the snow turning into what looked like cotton candy. Confused, she looked around more. The tree trunks were replaced by candy canes, and the branches were taken over by licorice. Rocks became gumdrops, and all the ice and icicles became frosting. A smile broke onto Y/nâs face as she looked over to Bendy. He was looking around with a smile, too. Looking back to the scenery around, Y/n reached out carefully to take a handful of the cotton candy snow. When she got her desired amount, she turned to Bendy and showed him. Nodding to each other, the two of them shared the cotton candy. The sweet was delectable and scrumptious to their sense of taste. Being distracted by the candy, the duo hadnât noticed that the sleigh had stopped in front of a grand palace.
At the whinny of one of the horses, Y/n finally looked around. Her lips parted slightly in awe as a small gasp left her mouth. Y/n stood up from her seat on the immobile sleigh to get a better view. A luxurious castle was only a few paces before her. But just as she was taking it in, a large group of guardsâwho looked like an assortment of candiesâsurrounded the sleigh and held up sharp spears. Her initial awe turned into immediate shock. She took a step back as much as the sleigh would allow. Y/n felt the sleigh shift from behind her, and she immediately whipped around, afraid it might be one of the guards. But to her relief, it was only Bendy standing up. He had a look of determination on his face as he stood. Raising her hands out slightly, he gestured for the guards to stand down. Now it was the candy guards' turn to be shocked before every one of them fell into a kneeling position. In confusion, Y/n stared at Bendy with furrowed eyebrows. Said nutcracker looked to his female friend and grinned at her before exiting the sleigh.
Bendy walked over to Y/nâs side of the sleigh and grabbed her arm gently, guiding her off the vehicle and to the large, fanciful doors that led into the palace. Without even having to touch the doors, they swung open, and a great gust of wind from who knows where swept the duo into the main room, the throne room. Sitting gracefully on the only throne in the room was someone Y/n could only describe as an angel. Words couldnât describe the magnificence and beauty Y/n felt radiating off the person on the throne.
The Sugar Plum Fairy.
Y/n could recall faint memories that seemed to flow around her of her mother telling Y/n of the fairy tale. Stories of the Sugar Plum Fairyâs gentleness and kindness to all things living and nonliving. Stories of how the fairy could make anything into candy or sweet by the single thought of it. The legendary fairy now simply sat on her throne with a skeptical expression pointed towards Y/n. But before the Sugar Plum Fairy could say a word, Bendy stepped in and began explaining how Y/n saved his life when fighting the Rat King. He went into great detail about how his neck was almost split in two until she managed to distract the rat and give the nutcracker enough time to get back up and slay the beast. At this revelation, the Sugar Plum Fairyâs expression became one of joy, shock, relief, and thankfulness. In her gratitude, the fairy rose from her throne and threw her arms up in the air, signaling all the happy servants to come forward with celebration decor. The Sugar Plum Fairy walked down the throne steps and over to the teenage girl in front of her. When the fairy was only about a foot or two away from Y/n, the Sugar Plum Fairy turned to her left and waved her hand for a servant to walk over. The servant, who looked to be a peppermint, scurried over with a pillow.
A crown that could make the Imperial State Crown ashamed was set on the pillow. Cautiously yet deftly, the fairy picked up the crown and nodded to Y/n to bow her head. Y/n, unsure of what to do, bowed her head down with patience. The Sugar Plum Fairy set the crown delicately upon Y/nâs head and lifted the young girl's chin with two fingers. Y/n searched throughout the fairyâs expression as the cryptid creature analyzed her. To Y/nâs own joy and reassurance, the fairy looked in wonder at the younger. To Sugar Plum, Y/n resembled true royalty and looked almost identical to anyone who deserved the spot of a monarch. Nervously, Y/n turned to Bendy to see his reaction. The prince was in absolute awe. His friend looked as goodâno, betterâthan any princess or queen to have reigned.
Bendy was shaken from his thoughts when Sugar Plum ordered two thrones to be placed next to hers immediately. And it was done as she commanded. Sugar Plum looked to the human and prince, inviting them to come sit next to her. Y/n sat on the fairyâs right, and Bendy sat next to his teenage companion. And before they knew it, festivities began all around. Dancers spun, and musicians trumpeted their instruments beautifully. Singers sang sensationally and show horses pranced among it all. Y/n was astonished, and Bendy was in mere awe at the celebration. But throughout the loud and joyous gathering, the prince couldnât help but steal glances at the girl next to him. The party went on for what seemed like hours, and Y/n was fighting to stay awake. But, like all humans, she needed her sleep. Slowly but surely, Y/n fell onto Bendyâs shoulder, completely knocked out with exhaustion. As much as he didnât expect it, Bendy wasnât startled. He simply let the girl lay there.
As the sounds and lights faded out of Y/nâs senses, she felt herself fall into a dark yet comforting abyss. Then, as fast as she fell asleep, she woke up. Shooting herself up into a sitting position, Y/n rubbed her eyes and looked around. She was back in her bedroom. Soft morning light streamed in through her curtain shades. Her room was decorated in the soft hue of the sun's loving embrace of the world. Covering a yawn with her hand, Y/n crawled out of her bed and looked at her nightstand. Standing in the same position her uncle had carved was the nutcracker. The girl smiled tiredly at the wooden toy before turning and walking out her bedroom door, planning to tell her parents all about her dream at breakfast. All is well. All is peaceful. Everything is beautiful. Even you.
