i came across this quote by jeffrey eugenides, "Can you see me? All of me? Probably not. No one ever really has." and my thoughts immediately went straight to huaisang. that mask of his is so well crafted that i don't think even wwx has truly seen through it. even in the cloud recesses, huaisang was seen as basically the coward and slacker, and wwx probably didnt think much about who he actually was, aaaaaaaaaand now im sad. great. because its likely after canon no one trusted him enough to actually get to know him, and thinking of nhs living his entire life with no one understanding him truly...

ok but what if. what if huaisang actually did grow up, but kept pretending to act helpless for the plan? what if hes actually a good sect leader under the mask he puts up? just thinking about it because after canon lxc is in seclusion, nmj and jgy are... well. and wangxian fed wont help, jc is out of the question, so even if the helplessness in terms of sect leadership wasn't an act, (because cmon nhs orchestrated and planned and acted for a decade he can handle managing a sect) he would still have to either learn or step down. i doubt that he would step down anyway, so he'd likely learn but yeah, that's my thoughts on nhs

tldr: nhs might actually be a really good sect leader

sqh the kinda guy to be so anxious on a daily basis but when he makes a mistake hes so freaked out that he becomes like the best functioning human being youve ever met.

hes oozing charm as he catches the cup out of thin air so smoothly and places it back down with this sharp grin and mbj thinks he might have covid or an aneurysm or maybe both

once he went to talk to a gathering of merchants after forgetting he left all his notes on who's who and what deals he wants to cut. he blacked out and when hes back at cang qiong he has like a stack of deals where the merchants are basically throwing their stuff at him. the merchants go home dazed and in love.

okay not sure how to approach this gently but say that, hypothetically, you own some essential oil sprays purchased from a huge department store chain. and there is a recall because they contain deadly disease causing bacteria that has confirmed deaths and has infected and killed who knows how many people because of how rare and difficult to diagnose it is in the united states:

put on gloves, double bag it tightly in resealable bags, put it in a cardboard box, and give it back to any of the chain's stores. disinfect everything in the room where it was used while wearing gloves. wash sheets and blankets on hot. consider using bleach.
