Ok so I'm gonna write a fic about a character who isn't popular with or understood by a huge part of the fandom, while the said fandom is crazy about AUs and does a lot more fanworks with them than with the canon universe. What are the chances someone except for my bestie will read it if we're keeping in mind that my English isn't the best so I write fics in my native language (Ukrainian), and there are like 4 fics total written in said language, two of which are mine, one is discontinued, and another one is about a lot of AUs?
is there a single more in-depth characterisation question than “would this character say fuck”? is there anything that gets the core aspects of a character down as well as the question of if and how they say fuck?
there is a FANFIC in my BRAIN and i cannot WRITE IT. chaos and destruction.
there is an IMAGE in my HEAD and i cannot DRAW IT. hatred and rage.
Projecting onto your kinns is fun and cool etc but I need to stop projecting a certain feeling onto This One Character because he wouldn't handle it very well. But I'm too used to thinking we're almost the same person (which isn't true for like... 3 years now? If it ever was) so I constantly assume we'd react the same way to some things. But in reality, what I find uncomfortable, would actually be better for him. And something I'm fine with might upset him. But when I'm thinking of post-canon or reading fanfics, I project so hard I forget about that
