// LIUSHEN VENT POST
I'm like super upset about the amount of bingliushen posts under liushen tag.
Because if I look up liushen it means I only want to see Liushen. Not bingliushen, not bingqiu and Liu Qingge pining and suffering at the back.
Liushen under liushen tag.
It's already a rareship and instead of getting my crumbs of content I see literally anything else instead of actual supposed content under the tag. It's annoying and honestly upsetting.
Man, I want to see MY fistional gays, not other fictional gays you know.
Just tag your stuff properly, I'm begging.
I have deep love for the cat.
random thought
Does anyone else’s teeth just get really (itchy??(uncomfortable??)) when they write on a pencil?? Or am I just weird
Modern day Cumplane Au where Shen Yuan tells people that he has a boyfriend and that 'he can fix him', and his friends start to wonder if Shen Yuan is in an abusive relationship or if he was just being too controlling, until it is revealed that his boyfriend, Shang Qinghua, is just a bad author and Shen Yuan was just talking about his writing
REMEMBER THAT TIME SQQ WANTED TO SEE LQG'S FACE WHEN HE CUMS SEND POST SENDPOST--
Runs into room
Shang Qinghua and Shen Qingqiu probably talk to each other really informally and share "private" information about their lives. They obviously do this because that's just modern culture... but it freaks everyone else out
Jumps out of window, Shen Qingqiu style
Here's the thing
Shen Qingqiu is weird about pretty men and Liu Qingge in particular
And I think it's linked to his own issues with his Shen Yuan identity
Shen Yuan is described by Shen Qingqiu repeatedly as "a useless pretty boy"
And that's very telling. The only positive quality he gives himself as Shen Yuan is his looks as a 'pretty boy' and while he's pleased with his looks as Shen Qingqiu as a good looking man there is also a sense imo that he's glad he's "Lofty Immortal" handsome but not outstandingly beautiful compared to his peers or Luo Binghe
His looks give off "Scholar" and therefore intelligence as well as being good looking.
Shen Qingqiu is good looking but not too good looking if you understand
And that's why I think Liu Qingge was such a shock
Because Liu Qingge is "pretty"
He's outstandingly beautiful
But it's not commented on anywhere in the books. And Shen Qingqiu gets thrown by that specifically. The fact that the War God is known for something other then his looks, for his prowess and skills. Makes Shen Qingqiu kinda angry
Now this is me reading too much into it and is almost certainly a headcanon
But I can imagine a 3rd son who is very pretty being treated like his accomplishments don't matter because he was pretty
That his looks were the first things people said about him and maybe the only thing people praised him for
No it didn't matter that he didn't get top grade on that test. He still has his looks doesn't he?
It probably wasn't even done maliciously
But I can see it wearing down his self worth and sense of self
So Liu Qingge being so beautiful and it not even being commented on in canon must have been infuriating both because that didn't happen irl to him and because it would have been nice to have a character who was beautiful but acknowledged first as a fighter
For definite headcanon: Shen Yuan is actively more beautiful and pretty then Shen Qingqiu
LiuShen thing
Basically whenever Liu Qingge finds ANY fan, he goes and gives it to Shen Qingqiu
This leads to a hella confusing scenario when LQG acquires one of those cheap plastic rainbow fans and gives it to SQQ.
SQQ stares at it with so many questions “how is there a plastic fan” “where did it come from” “why is Shidi giving me a gay fan”
LQG is merely there proud he retrieved another fan and SQQ has no choice but to accept it.
(He uses it at a peak lord meeting once and SQH is crying from how much he’s laughing that they don’t get anything done.)
Genuine SVSSS angst thoughts, but I've always been curious about what SQQ would have done if, in his downward spiral (Jinlan city arc would be BRUTAL for this, but I'm thinking during Plantzun era), Binghe had actually killed LQG. On one hand, that's the plot fulfilled. LQG was always meant to die in the story and nobody is allowed to challenge the protagonist. On the other hand...LQG is the one character that broke SQQ's preconceived notions from the start. He's SQQ's first plot-breaking action, a true test of his ability to be OOC, proof that he CAN change things. He's also SQQ's friend. SQQ runs away from his feelings until he can't, doesn't take the story seriously (or thinks he doesn't) until it's clear to him that it hurts others, constantly reinforces and justifies his unwillingness to do anything about The Problem of Luo Binghe with idea that the world will bend to LBH's whims and there's nothing he can do to stop it unless it's to help Binghe or himself specifically. He's never had to face losing another person through that passiveness, through The Plot as he allows it, through LBH as the vessel carrying out that loss. What kind of mental gymnastics would he have to do to get over it, knowing that he emotionally processes pretty much 0% of what happens to him? Could he even manage that? Given a redo, what would he do? He can't convince LQG to NOT protect him, not after saving his life, and not saving his life is unacceptable. He can't leave LQG's rescue to anyone else, knowing that it's part of The Plot that he'll die! He can't run away - the system will never allow that, role-locked as he is. Just SQQ trying to play 5D chess against The System, having absolutely no idea that LBH never wanted him to die to begin with, making incredibly convoluted choices to keep LQG alive...and, as a consequence, himself (not even temporarily dying!!), since the idiot will apparently DIE for him. Force-grinding LQG's cultivation with wife plots and artifacts and eye-twitching intensity as LQG begins to suspect that there's something SQQ is afraid of.
Wouldn't it be hilarious if Shen Yuan's reason for infamy was that his comment started out reasonable like this and then just turned into pure vitriol because he hated the numerous and glaring plot holes so Peerless Cucumber turned into, like, people pointing to Peerless Cucumber comments to get an understanding of what a chapter could include and see his thoughts on what could have fixed this or that plot hole or just general information in order to generate some details for fanfic so he became a Known Name for PIDW information and also, as a side effect, there were jokes about a BingCum ship that a small fujoshi section took and ran with

liujiu week day 2 meet cute!! stealthily sneaks in personal headcanon abt lqg’s many many sisters
bonus :’)
Can I ask your opinion on the similarities between bingqiu (shen yuan/luo binghe) and quanyin (quan yizhen/yin yu)? I don't know why but when I first read quanyin in TGCF their dynamics really remind me of bingqiu from SVSSS....Thoughts?
I don’t think quanyin is actually all that much like bingqiu. There are similarities – Quan Yizhen is similarly obssessed with his shixiong to Luo Binghe’s shizun-shaped obsession, they both somehow caused the (temporary) death of the object of their obsession and work on resurrecting him (I think TGCF extras do not explicitly say who brought YY back as a ghost but it can be reasonably assumed that QYZ had a big part in that). SY also tries to hide from LBH after his first return in plant body, like YY is trying to avoid QYZ after the brocade immortal incident, but that’s where the similarities end.
The main reason is that these characters are all very different! While Quan Yizhen is a rather single-minded individual obsessed with fighting, unable and uncaring to control his action and speech to please others, Luo Binghe has a complicated character – he is clever, manipulative with great acting skills, while also being deeply insecure and affection starved.
Yin Yu’s neuroses and seriousness are also quite different from the way Shen Yuan acts. A big part of his character is a sense/fear of insecurity (I’d say he is an imposter syndrome personified), and Shen Yuan has none of that!
If I were to find a SV paralel for quanyin, it would be actually liujiu, that is Liu Qingge and original Shen Qingqiu = Shen Jiu. Liu Qingge is a similar meathead fighter type while Shen Jiu also has inferiority complex, especially next to Liu Qingge with whom he has a rivalry going on.
If Shen Jiu managed to save Liu Qingge in the Lingxi caves, SV would be quite a different story.
The deaged!SJ fic is just *chef's kiss*! I love how you illustrate that LQG is actually really observant (I love fanon himbo!LQG but I think he is pretty observant in canon), but the way he interprets SJ's actions vs SQQ's is informed by his terrible impression of SQQ (and perhaps his additional years of experience now vs. when he first met SQQ). LOL at LQG liking him even better after he tries to kill him :D (cont'd)
2/2: SJ listing all the things he understands about LQG breaks my heart bc they could have been friends if their first impressions had been better (though this SJ also didn't have the WYZ experience, so perhaps he is also less bitter/ fearful now). Mmmm yes the call back to your knifeplay fic - mmmhhmmmm… I can't wait for LQG to find out who SJ is and that he should've given SQQ the same benefit of the doubt he gives SJ. Penitence can involve a little blood, can't it??
--
THANK YOU SO MUCH MY DARLING. I too love himbo!LQG but exactly, he's actually a pretty sharp guy (esp regarding things he perceives as threats). A man can make insightful bitchy comments and kick random doors down at the same time. He contains multitudes.
Yeah I'm very tickled by the thought of LQG finding justification for all of SJ's behavior because SJ is visibly vulnerable. On the other hand, this means part of why he never understood SQQ's toxic behavior is because he never perceived SQQ as weak, and so never figured out that SQQ has never stopped feeling vulnerable. And wouldn't SJ just love that revelation...
THEY COULD HAVE BEEN FRIENDS THEY COULD HAVE BEEN FRIENDS THEY COULD HAVE BEEN FRIENDS ;; SJ could like LQG so much if he can just believe LQG is genuinely good. No bullshit, loyal as shit, and super capable? They could be such a power couple. Power throuple with YQY.
LQG's biggest problem is that he never figured out SQQ needed a chance, so now we're gonna make him eat all his words hahahahahaha. You bet your butt I'm gonna make him bleed. If LQG doesn't get cut and/or choked at least once in this fic my name ain't mido.
based on ectocosme’s fic :D ^^^
I feel like if Shen Qingqiu was a catboy, this would improve the liushen relationship. They would be closer to being on the same page and understand each other more. Shen Qingqiu would also make eye contact with Liu Qingge before knocking his things off his tables.
On the other hand, I think this would make the liujiu relationship worse. They would physically fight each other every time they came across each other. Every peak lord meeting is a race against time before their stare down ends and they start trying to beat the shit out of each other.
This is fully a personal preference thing honestly, but I've been turning it around in my brain why I don't like BingQiu specifically when I'm at worst neutral on almost literally any other ship and I think it boils down to this: it's really important to me that in a ship that's supposed to be lasting and stable at least one character can say "I see you for what you are and I accept you for all there is to you". And that's just not a thing with BingQiu.
Binghe literally can't know a huge part of Shen Qingqiu - the part that is Shen Yuan, the part that wears the scum villain as a mask that it can never even take off completely - because of the transmigration and the System. He also idolizes his Shizun and at the same time puts on mask after mask so that he can be Shen Qingqiu's lovely white lotus which also don't help.
And Shen Qingqiu's head is full of so many bees, so much denial and self-delusion that we watched him actively think himself in circles rather than admit that Binghe might be interested in him for three whole books. I don't trust him to have a reasonably realistic idea of himself, much less of someone else. Especially not Binghe. He will make up a picture in his mind about how things are supposed to be and it has to be an act of divine intervention for him to budge from it. He will deny reality if he has to, so he's incapable of seeing Binghe as anything other than the Perfect Protagonist.
I don't often see Binghe shipped with others (he's so singularly No Thoughts Head Empty Only Shizun that it's hard to put him with anyone else. Shen Jiu sometimes I guess, but he is shipped more with Bingge which feels like a distinctly separate thing to me and anyway, it's usually predicated upon the realization that they are both similar kinds of monsters, even if Bingge outdoes his scum villain by several orders of magnitude) but Shen Yuan has a few choice ships that either challenge his expectations enough that his denial and delusion breaks down eventually (Liu Qingge, Shen Jiu, etc.) or ship him with Airplane who knows him for what he is because he's also a transmigrator and he's familiar with Cucumber bro's acerbic inner self.
Other ships too. QiJiu/LiuJiu/QiJiuLiu any variations of these three tbh thrive on clearing up their misunderstanding and starting to see each other clearly again. MoShang get together once they start to properly pay attention to each other and their respective needs. Airplane in general has just an impossible understanding of whoever he's shipped with as only Author and his creations can have. Tianlang-jun's weird charm comes from it that he can't (or possibly refuses to) pretend to be anything than who and what he is beyond the most superficial disguise.
And BingQiu just doesn't have that. They are both too obsessed with an idealized version of each other to ever see things clearly and that's what makes their dynamic not very fun to me personally.
Some LiuJiu sex pollen fic about 3k. Also extremely unresolved tension, hahaha OTL. This was supposed to be about 100% angstier than it turned out but that Did Not Happen. Rating is probably mature but not explicit.
Warnings associated with sex pollen tropes apply, but nothing really happens here. Sqq is non-verbal for the entirety of this, lqg is sometimes a little unobservant and a little too observant, but I don't think there's anything too bad.
Shen Qingqiu gets the lion's share of the burst of pollen. It only hits Liu Qingge incidentally, fast as he is to whirl away from its path. It still sends a burst of liquid heat straight through his core. Shen Qingqiu drops outright, coughing through the fat, fuzzy pollops. Liu Qingge swings Cheng Luan around, cutting through the tattered form of a ghost ant demon.
He has to end the fight quickly, compromised as he is. Shen Qingqiu hadn't been of any real help in the first place but now he's a liability. Liu Qingge grits his teeth and sends a sword glare flinging at another of the ghost ants, this one a big drone of a creature.
He can't meditate to cool his body down so he redirects the heat instead, focusing on the battle thrill. The limber way his limbs follow his commands, the strength in his grip, the coiling of his muscles, the friction of his silk robes against his tense, heated skin. He gasps, flushed and sensitive, and pierces through carapace and ectoplasm. The two other ghost ants abandon the fight.
Liu Qingge heaves breath in, swallowing thickly. He can't pursue them like this, can't leave Shen Qingqiu vulnerable in a field.
He stumbles to Shen Qingqiu, the man's trembling form curled on itself where he'd fallen. The pollen is really hitting him now. When he tries to cycle his qi, it feels like it only spreads faster.
"Shen Qingqiu." His voice is shakier than normal.
A breathy noise comes from Shen Qingqiu's form, his head tilting by degrees the only sign that he is listening at all to Liu Qingge. His inky hair falls around him like a curtain with only the shell of his ear peaking through. It is flushed.
"Shen Qingqiu, stand!" Liu Qingge puts his hand on Shen Qingqiu's shoulders, ostensibly to shake it. Shen Qingqiu is warm even through his seven layers of silk. He doesn't get to linger with the curve of Shen Qingqiu under his palm because the man flips over in a wild spray of limbs. His hair whips around his face as he kicks himself backwards and away from Liu Qingge.
His face is pink and sweaty, his dark ice eyes hazy under the pollen's influence.
Liu Qingge's throat clicks as he swallows and his hand burns.
Shen Qingqiu curses, his fists tightening. Lying like this, leaning on his elbows, he looks bullied. His lips are red and shiny, puffy almost. Liu Qingge blinks hard. Shen Qingqiu's chest rises and falls with enough force to flutter the fine lapels of his diaphanous outer layer.
Liu Qingge clenches his jaw and quickly closes the distance between him and Shen Qingqiu, whose awkward backwards crawling is laughably useless against Liu Qingge's long legs. He grips a fistful of Shen Qingqiu's robes and yanks him up. He sways dangerously, almost comically swooning into Liu Qingge's chest. His strong, thin scholar's hands brace against Liu Qingge's belt.
He can feel them tense and relax against him.
Shen Qingqiu makes a distressed noise, half whine choked with growl, but with the distance closed he doesn't seem able to pull himself away. Liu Qingge can hardly force himself to open his jaw for words, it seems that for once words are beyond Shen Qingqiu at all.
His arms move almost without his permission, locking around Shen Qingqiu, tucking him in closer. The solid length of Shen Qingqiu's body is a line of heat against him and his muscles tense in the effort to not squeeze him tighter. Another discontented noise escapes Shen Qingqiu's mouth even as the man tilts his face into Liu Qingge's chest.
"I—" Cheng Luan sheathes itself, and the sound of it sliding into its scabbard makes them both groan. There is no way that Liu Qingge can focus enough to fly. They should seek shelter but if they do...
Shen Qingqiu's hand has wormed its way into Liu Qingge's outer robe, absently flexing. Even through the layers of fabric still separating them he can feel the shape of Shen Qingqiu's nails. He doesn't even have to imagine their sting; Shen Qingqiu has scratched him in their spars before.
It's a reminder that neither of them will be happy if they fully succumb to the pollen, and if they sequester themselves they will succumb. Even now, Shen Qingqiu is pressing in closer, Liu Qingge can hear him snuffle along his lapels. He's still shaking like a leaf caught in wind underneath Liu Qingge's hands.
Liu Qingge grits his teeth and pushes Shen Qingqiu away.
His whole body aches, bereft of Shen Qingwiu's warmth and weight. The whine he voices is involuntary and embarrassing, but at least matched by Shen Qingqiu who's viper hands have locked themselves into Liu Qingge's robe.
"Let go. We need to get to Qian Cao."
Shen Qingqiu's face looks conflicted and dazed, eyes dewy, eyesbrows furrowed in a sharp angle, his thin lips curled almost in a snarl. Liu Qingge tries pulling him along but he stumbles and winds his way cat-like back into Liu Qingge's space, tripping them both up.
"Stop—Shen Qingqiu, get ahold of yourself!" It's hippocritical of him to say this, of course, his own hands locked around Shen Qingqiu's wrist, his own heart beating double time, the center line of his body yearning towards the shape of Shen Qingqiu. Shen Qingqiu snakes his arms around Liu Qingge's waist, refusing to be budged or dislodged again.
He's mean about it, is the thing. His fingers grip through Liu Qingge's robes to dig bruises with how hard he clings. He uses his sharp chin to jab into the meat of Liu Qingge's shoulder when he tries to unlatch Shen Qingqiu's arm. He stomps on Liu Qingge's instep when his knee shifts the wrong way. It's like fighting, like any of the ambushes Shen Qingqiu pulls on him, but somehow more disorienting. He isn't even sure if Shen Qingqiu is fighting to stay closer or not; keeping his iron grip on Liu Qingge's clothes but kicking at his feet in turns of spitefulness.
Withought conscious thought Liu Qingge's hand slips from its hold on Shen Qingqiu's shoulder and slides down to the small of his back. And it is small under Liu Qingge's hand. Shen Qingqiu's hands become sharp, clawing into him like little dagger points. The pricks of pain send a shudder through him and he closes his eyes but that makes it worse.
He's overly conscious of how small the amount of space is between them, of Shen Qingqiu's knee next to his, of the strong arms around him, of the hot and humid breath Shen Qingqiu gasps against his robes. He has never faltered a single day in his life but his knees feel weak.
Shen Qingqiu's own knee shifts against Liu Qingge's, he is only aware it because it moves away from him leaving a cold space. Then Shen Qingqiu steps forward, doing something clever with the angle of his feet between Liu Qingge's, and suddenly Liu Qingge is on his back and Shen Qingqiu is straddling him.
Liu Qingge really should know by now to not let his guard down around Shen Qingqiu.
Shen Qingqiu looks smug, even with his lip curled to show his teeth in warning.
His robes drape around them like petals of a flower, the bulk of them only exaggerating the small, hesitant twitches of Shen Qingqiu's hips. It looks involuntary, like he isn't even aware of it. The golden puffs of pollen cling to Shen Qingqiu's skin and hair, catching light from the moon. They glint where they're caught in Shen Qingqiu's eyelashes. Liu Qingge swallows and Shen Qingqiu's eyes follow the bob of his throat.
Liu Qingge bucks his hip up, curling his body like a shrimp and pushing at Shen Qingqiu's knee. He hears a gasp above him, which he tries to ignore. He also tries to ignore the heat under Shen Qingqiu's robes and between his thighs. In increments, Liu Qingge wiggles from underneath Shen Qingqiu and they tussle on the ground for a few more inelegant moments.
Shen Qingqiu scrambles at him in increasingly disorganized and clumsy attempts. The elegant Qing Jing fighting forms fall away in favor of something more base and frantic. It's the same frenetic fighting Shen Qingqiu falls into when sparring inevitably tips towards Liu Qingge's favor: the tricks and low blows Liu Qingge hates the most.
Liu Qingge tries to catch Shen Qingqiu's hands and gets bitten for his troubles, tries to stop Shen Qingqiu's kicking legs from brushing too close against him and gets a line of scratches down his arm. Shen Qingqiu is still panting, muscles quivering, face heated and pink and coated with a soft sheen of sweat that his cultivation should be able to take care of, but if Liu Qingge forces himself to stop focusing on these small, intimate details and take in the whole of Shen Qingqiu...
He's scared.
Liu Qingge has managed to flip them for more leverage and is bearing his weight down on Shen Qingqiu to get him to stop wiggling. He's half between Shen Qingqiu's legs without even noticing, his blood heated and intent on winning. Like this is just any fight between them.
He throws himself backwards and away, something black twisting in his gut.
Both of them lie there, under the moonlight, breathing hard.
The heat still churns in Liu Qingge's body, and he's sure in Shen Qingqiu's as well. Shen Qingqiu shedding extra pollen onto him probably did not help. He really needs to get them both to Qian Cao, even if Shen Qingqiu would abandon him if their positions were switched.
Liu Qingge hadn't even noticed climbing half on top of him. It had been instinct and muscle memory. If Liu Qingge were more compromised... Shen Qingqiu might even be right to leave him behind.
Lucky, then, that Liu Qingge isn't more affected. Shen Qingqiu has started those small, distressed vocalizations. Not quite whining, but adjacent. Liu Qingge can feel it too, the cool night air against his skin where Shen Qingqiu's body had been is almost painful. Shen Qingqiu does not have the coordination to walk, Liu Qingge doesn't have the coordination to fly.
"Hey!" Liu Qingge sits up. "Shen Qingqiu! Come here."
Shen Qingqiu has curled in on himself again, almost looking small. Frail.
"Can you—" the words are getting harder to force out of his mouth. He just wants to growl.
Shen Qingqiu does not come here, so Liu Qingge crawls over to him. Shen Qingqiu tenses as he draws nearer. When the man uncurls enough to glare at him Liu Qingge stops. He wants to go closer, to just pick him up and be done with it. He can still run, it'll just be uncomfortable. Doubly so with Shen Qingqiu struggling.
Instead he makes sure Shen Qingqiu is watching and then turns his back on him.
Quiet, and then Shen Qingqiu makes a curious noise that sounds almost exactly like the haughty little hums he hides behind his fans when Liu Qingge does something stupid but amusing. It does not help Liu Qingge keep still. His training makes him reluctant to put his back towards Shen Qingqiu, the heat coiling in him doubly wants him to turn and face Shen Qingqiu's flushed face.
The crunch of dirt as Shen Qingqiu moves makes goosebumps spread across Liu Qingge's shoulders. He can feel Shen Qingqiu's gaze like a physical weight.
It doesn't, unfortunately, make the heat subside. It seems to magnify it, even, knowing Shen Qingqiu's calculating eyes are on him. That he is being sized up, weighed and tallied. He squares his shoulders under that attention, tries to keep his breathing even.
His can hear his own pulse heavy in his ears.
Finally Shen Qingqiu approaches, Liu Qingge can feel the heat of his body. It seems he'd stood to come closer, standing behind Liu Qingge's kneeling form. Liu Qingge's mouth feels incredibly wet and he swallows again, and again, as Shen Qingqiu just hovers behind him.
When touch comes, it's with Shen Qingqiu's fingers combing through Liu Qingge's gathered hair. It makes him jump, half expecting Shen Qingqiu to pull or yank. Instead he just runs his fingers through it. It is almost as if Liu Qingge's hair has developed feeling, each soft pass of Shen Qingqiu's fingers sending a tingle through his scalp.
Shen Qingqiu sinks to his knees behind Liu Qingge, pressed close enough Liu Qingge can feel every hot, tense line of him through their clothes. It's like descending into a hot spring, the warmth of Shen Qingqiu's body enveloping Liu Qingge's sending a shudder coursing through him.
Shen Qingqiu hooks his chin over Liu Qingge's shoulder, his nose pressing against Liu Qingge's cheek. He rubs cat-like against Liu Qingge, a lilting hum almost a question against Liu Qingge's skin. His arms come around him, and with that a pressing weight as Shen Qingqiu leans into him.
Shen Qingqiu presses into his back, down on his shoulders, against his face. Liu Qingge wants to fold over, to give himself more room maybe. Maybe to feel Shen Qingqiu follow. If Liu Qingge bent a little, maybe if he rested his weight on his elbows, Shen Qingqiu could cover him like a blanket, the sheet of his hair could fall over Liu Qingge's shoulder, blocking him in.
The thought makes his ribs ache in a deeply unfamiliar way.
Shen Qingqiu presses more of his weight into Liu Qingge, shuffles his knees closer, rubs his hands against Liu Qingge's chest. It pushes a strangled noise from him, chased by a self satisfied hum from Shen Qingqiu. Liu Qingge bows by a degree, back curving against Shen Qingqiu's firm chest. Shen Qingqiu does follow, leaning more of his weight against the plane of Liu Qingge's back than on his knees.
Liu Qingge slides his hands backwards to Shen Qingqiu's waist. Shen Qingqiu doesn't protest so Liu Qinnge follows the dip of his waist down to his narrow hips then further to the outside of his thighs. Shen Qingqiu tilts the box of his pelvis into Liu Qingge's back, his muscles flexing as if to encourage Liu Qingge's wandering hands.
Liu Qingge feels almost dizzy, his face is hot and his core is twitching with his own restraint. He lets his fingers grip tight and Shen Qingqiu moans into his ear, soft and sweet. He reaches further back, cupping Shen Qingqiu's thighs, pulling him firmly against himself. It makes another breathy noise escape Shen Qingqiu's lips and Liu Qingge feels on fire. He is sure his face is incandescent in the night.
He waits until Shen Qingqiu moves his hips in a little abortive thrust, enough to unbalance his stance, and then he moves in one big rush: grip on Shen Qingqiu's thighs pulling his legs around him as he curls forward to force Shen Qingqiu's weight higher onto his back. Then he stands, Shen Qingqiu left clinging.
He does it so quickly Shen Qingqiu can't react except for reflexive tensing until Liu Qingge is already standing, finding his balance while carrying another body. Liu Qingge waits for Shen Qingqiu's response, prepared to wrestle his limbs if he starts struggling again.
Shen Qingqiu is a line of tension, having locked up at the sudden movement. Liu Qingge clears his throat. Wets his tongue and manages to croak "Fine" with enough inflection it could be read as a question.
Shen Qingqiu takes a deliberate breath, deep enough it rocks Liu Qingge. Then he relaxes in Liu Qingge's hold. He does pull at Liu Qingge's hair, one sharp tug that has Liu Qingge barking Hey reflexively, that he assumes is meant to scold him. With nothing more violent coming forth, Liu Qingge takes it as acquiescence and bounces a little to settle Shen Qingqiu’s weight better.
That makes Shen Qingqiu hiss. Shen Qingqiu's arms flex where they grip, and he pants against Liu Qingge's ear. Liu Qingge gamely ignores the damp puffs of air and his own burning face to start walking in the direction of the sect.
Though this position seems to work best for both of them—Liu Qingge isn't looming over anyone, they are headed towards the sect, the pollen's effect is mitigated by the press of their bodies together—Liu Qingge had failed to take into account the actual logistics. Each step he takes rocks Shen Qingqiu into him.
Shen Qingqiu's thighs flex around his waist in time to his steps like Shen Qingqiu is riding him and Shen Qingqiu has buried his face into Liu Qingge's collar hiding his small gasps. Liu Qingge's foot catches a dip in the ground and he skids through the next step, jolting Shen Qingqiu against him. Shen Qingqiu whines, reedy and wanting, before he bites sharply at Liu Qingge's shoulder, ruthlessly muffling the noise. The burst of unexpected pain makes Liu Qingge stumble, his groin twitching hard.
"Shen Qingqiu!" Liu Qingge hisses, stilling himself. Sweat has gathered at his hairline, his lip, he can feel it drip down his neck. Shen Qingqiu's open mouth is hot and wet and sharp, his arms are heavy and clinging. The layers of silk that slide between Shen Qingqiu's length and the curve of Liu Qingge's spine are damp.
His teeth pulling back from the bite is almost as bad as getting bitten, the pain blooms under Liu Qingge's skin like a budding flower, and the cool air stings at the teethmarks Shen Qingqiu left. Did he draw blood? The thought briefly makes Liu Qingge's eyes unfocused.
Shen Qingqiu bucks his hips forward, too intentional to mistake for anything but a rider spurring their mount. He tugs at Liu Qingge's bang, telling him forwards. The flare of heat catches him by surprise, and Liu Qingge starts walking. Shen Qingqiu shifts against his back, his chin settling in the bruise he'd left. Liu Qingge can feel the smug radiate off of him.
It's a long walk back to Cang Qiong.
The idea's been brought up many times how SJ may not entirely be gone and is being used to power the system's easy mode and autoplay functions for SY, which I've been gradually coming around to because system is definitely not all powerful and can only have limited influence- after all it needed an agent/host in the first place and couldn't just take full control of SJ's actions when SJ's will was still there, and so on so forth-, so I imagine when that does happen, SQQ's eyes shift to a darker shade. He may or may not be aware though I'm leaning more on not aware because..... Well, that depends on how much angst you want to fit in that car.
Personally, I don't like the whole light and dark association for SY and SJ respectively, I definitely Don't buy to the whole Perfect Saint Shen Yuan, but I don't hate him either, I don't actually dislike any character, every one has their place, and also as a fan of Actually-Scummy-But-Not-In-The-Way-They-Think-Scummy Shen Jiu, I'm of the belief that preserving the self-centered and disassociated-to-the-point-of-careless-cruelty-and-selfishness modern guy Shen Yuan is very, very important. They're both a flavor of 'will not drop kick a baby unless-', like, if Qi-ge was in dire and mortal danger and the baby is a half-demon. and. if someone will set off a bomb and will only drop kick very lightly I swear. But I digress, I went off a bit here.
This is because a screen light's reflection makes someone's eyes lighter, right? Yes.
So my original idea kind of ended here but my phone was out of battery for a couple hours so that had the chance to simmer in my head.
Anyways, this is noticed by the other Peak Lords.
(This could be LiuJiu, with particular attention put in the Ling Xi Cave scene. Or MuJiu just because (I'm crazy about them). But mostly this goes along with my Peak Lords are Actually Siblings Dynamics I've only lightly touched upon so far Take a look at my 'What If idea post-PIDW canon' rant here.)
Thinking about it, most stories I saw in which Liu Qingge is trans had people find out (mostly either SY!SQQ or OG!SQQ) and there was suddenly new found soft(er) feelings and appreciation for him. But what if instead this changes nothing for OG!SQQ?
Imagine Liu Qingge has a serious wardrobe malfunction during a mission (conveniently shredded by monster claws or acid that only affects clothes, the typical wife plot bs) and OG!Shen Qingqiu of all people sees the secret bits in full view. And obviously Liu Qingge is very angry about this as well as worried the resident lecher is going to perv on him now. Because it would be very unfortunate if he did, bringing back Shen Qingqiu's hacked up corpse wouldn't go over well with the sect leader after all.
But nothing changes. Shen Qingqiu acts offended to have gotten an indecent, unwanted eyeful of someone's private parts on principle and mocks how the oh so infallible war god was failing to keep his clothes intact, and that's it. Liu Qingge is a man and the same loathsome brute and he hates him.
Only a handful of people know Liu Qingge is trans and everyone treated him slightly differently after finding out. Most were trying to be nicer to him, but this was irritating too since it was still treating him differently. And Shen Qingqiu of all people is the one who doesn't give one iota! Doesn't drop implications to other people either. If only the man wasn't his enemy...
SQQ: I hate men
*looks at LQG's clit*
SQQ: You're a man and I hate you
LQG: …....
SQQ: What!
LQG:........enemies to lovers?
I've been thinking about QiJiu and how they could be post-reconciliation and I'm like. I love most flavors of these tragic idiots, but I like them as either romantic or full on disaster siblings the most, probably.
Because them becoming close platonic friends feels like sort of... an extension? Of the state they are in canonically, where they are devoted to each other, but in a lot of ways have grown apart. They just fix up the holes in it - and I don't think that works all that well for them on the long run, because it would be all too easy to be reminded of the bad times. I think for them to be happy and stable long term, they need a shift in their dynamic either to something new (romantic relationship, with the courting period acting as a sort of soft reset) or back to the (codependent, but not necessarily in a bad way) sibling-relationship they had before.
Like. Honest to god I want a story where the two of them make up and Liu Qingge is the first one to look at them and go:
"What the fuck?! WHAT THE FUCK?! So this was just a sibling tantrum?? Like the time Mingyan refused to talk to me for three weeks because I got monster guts on her new dress, except you idiots dragged it out for thirty years?! I'm ashamed to be your shidi! Shame on you!"
"It was a bit more serious than-"
"Zhangmen-shixiong, what could you have possibly done that's worse than monster guts?"
Just Liu Qingge shaking Yue Qingyuan until dumbass failbrother explains what happened - perfect grounds for Liu-Jiu reconciliation too, because in LQG's mind 'making your little brother think you willingly abandoned him to slavery' is a perfectly valid reason to become the angriest, bitchiest bitch to ever peak lord. It doesn't matter that it doesn't make sense, his big brother instincts tell him that if he did something like that to Liu Mingyan then blood would flow. He doesn't know what a Joker even is, but in his mind that would be Mingyan's Joker moment for sure.
Hello and welcome to (the true) Day 14 of "Let's Explore My Plot Bunnies"
Today, my brain decided to be very... resourceful, for the lack of a less polite word, and remake the Cat!Shen Jiu fic from *checks notes* Day 4. Only now, instead of Shen Jiu being the one transformed into a cat, it's Liu Qingge.
The current title for this is "Paw Prints in Your Heart," and I do intend to make it a LiuJiu fic.
The premise is quite simple:
Liu Qingge was injured in his latest mission. He falls unconscious at the base of Cang Qiong Mountain, and, unbeknownst to him, his body turns into that of a cat. Shen Qingqiu is the one that finds the injured tuxedo cat and takes him (he did check; it is a boy) back to Qing Jing Peak for treatment.
When Liu Qingge wakes up, not only does he find himself to be a cat, but also he finds himself in the care of the (surprisingly gentle) person he hates, Shen Qingqiu.
Now, imagine: Cat!Liu Qingge has to stay around the Qing Jing Peak because his paw has a bad injury and ends up being in the same room as Shen Qingqiu and Yue Qingyuan have their (admitedly one-sided) argument of the day. And after Yue Qingyuan leaves, Shen Qingqiu, feeling the anger rising, decides to vent to the only creature here that will listen to him and not interrupt - cat!Liu Qingge. So, Shen Qingqiu speaks (read: vents) about his past, about Yue Qingyuan, about all the other Peak Lords, about everything that he can really vent about.
Needless to say, Liu Qingge has a ton of things to think about now with all these revelations.
Then there is the monthly Peak Lord Meeting... at which Liu Qingge is missing. Most of the other Peak Lords don't really find a problem with this as it is well known that Liu Qingge loves to hunt monsters so "he is most likely doing just that" is what they argue. Shen Qingqiu, on the other hand, finds it weird since, as much as that brute annoys him, Liu Qingge doesn't miss the Peak Lords Meeting without announcing beforehand.
And so, Shen Qingqiu starts a one man (and one cat) search party for that idiot brutish shidi of his. Their first destination? The Red Warm Pavillion. If there is anyone who knows where esteemed cultivators can be found based on rumors, it is the Madame of the Pavillion - who is also the most trustworthy source of information Shen Qingqiu can find.
Some details to note:
I feel OG!Shen Qingqiu would prefer cats to dogs, mostly because as an orphan on the streets dogs would fight with you for food (looks at Wei Wuxian), while cats - especially in cold/rainy days - would snuggle with you. Not because they like you, but because they like the body heat you can provide for them.
Cat!Liu Qingge definitely gives Shen Qingqiu a lot of snuggles after he vents to him. Both as an apology and as comfort.
Shen Qingqiu tried to talk with the other Peak Lords about how strange it is for Liu Qingge - of all people - to dissappear without a trace or a letter. The other Peak Lords, unfortunately, ignored him. This is why he takes it in his own hands to find Liu Qingge.
Liu Qingge feels a lot of guilt after he learns more about Shen Qingqiu and about the reasons behind most of his actions. He vows to treat him better once he is back to his human self.
This could either take place before Luo Binghe is on Qing Jing Peak or after - like the first 2 weeks after he was admitted. Either way, the kiddo is chugging vinegar - first because his Shizun likes the cat better than him; second, because by the time Luo Binghe arrives at the sect, Shen Qingqiu has a boyfriend.
So what do you think? Good? Bad? Brain has been on crack for far too long? Let me know!
Honestly, this idea just came to me today - probably 2 hours before I post this, actually. The better way to explain the plot would be "Shen Qingqiu vents to his newly acquired cat about his entire life, without knowing that said cat is actually his shidi, Liu Qingge, whom he doesn't like". There is something special about the whole "venting to an animal that is actually a human cursed/transformed into an animal" trope I see in fics. It's soo damn cute and agsty at the same time. I love it so much.
But enough rambling from me. I hope you have a great day/night and that you take care of yourselves!
See you tomorrow,
