“A Yemeni girl presents traditional costume during a fashion show in Sanaa, Yemen, Oct. 12, 2013.”
This is the last day of 2023. We can never go back and experience this day again. This is the youngest you’ll ever be. The older we get, the faster time seems to go. 2014 was 10 years ago. Tomorrow you’ll be the oldest you’ve ever been.

fucked up that we got 2024 on monday

meera adnan x deerah migration '23 collection
"‘Migration’ co-designed with Deerah, is a collection made to reflect the state of a displaced Palestinian. A fusion of tradition and innovation. Using old and familiar techniques to create relevant and modern piece, a practice our ancestors used to create their traditional clothing. Unlike what is known about Palestinian embroidery, the women were designers creating and learning new techniques constantly. This skill was later harnessed by the women forced into exile and exposed to different fashion trends suddenly. This is the story of a woman creating in her new environment with the skills of her elders. A rebellious union of old and new. The collection is designed by Meera Albaba and Sara Jayyusi, Palestinian business owners and entrepreneurs. - Meera Adnan
i'm seeing a lot of new ppl join tumblr who aren't making any spontaneous semi pathetic, oversharing personal textposts whatsoever and i just want to say you're doing it all wrong... this is not like instagram like meant to be some shiny highlight reel used to make u look good its supposed to be an incriminatingly revealing dark intimate look into your life & inner psyche while simultaneously no one knows who u are or gives a fuck... anyway hope this helps some of u get on the right track

And then when the IDF gets through murdering the people of Gaza, they will say, "Umm, actually, most of the deaths were from disease and malnutrition, not bombing," as if disease and malnutrition were just things that randomly happened and not intentionally engineered by cutting off the power and blockading the port and bombing the hospitals; as if the whole entire point of this "war" wasn't to make Gaza so unlivable that the people there either have to flee to Egypt or die so that you can bulldoze their homes and put up some fucking strip malls in your tacky, illegal, suburban US-style settlements
To this day people will cry over the knowledge and works destroyed when the library of Alexandria was burned down.
And yet no tears are shed as Palestinian archives and libraries are bombed.
Saint Porphyrius Church, a structure built in the 5th century and the 3rd oldest church in the world has been bombed.
It's not an accident.
Israel aren't simply killing Palestinians, they are trying to erase that there ever were Palestinians in the first place.
Destroying their livelihoods, trying to to destroy their culture and history and pretend this land was never there's.
It's easy to deny someone's existence when there's no record of them.
Which is why it's so important to look at the atrocities and bear witness to what's happening.
But to also recognise that Palestine is more than it's suffering.
There is a living breathing culture, of art, history, literacy which all come from the Palestinians.
Traditions they've carried for centuries.
So while we mourn the dead, we shall fight for the living. Fight for the preservation of their crafts, amplify their voices as they speak on their culture.
Palestinian history and culture is alive. And no matter how much the world wants to erase that, they cannot and will not.
