Endgame and Post-Endgame: Natasha and Yelena

Whatever you do, do not think about Natasha Romanoff sacrificing herself on Vormir for Yelena after she blipped.
Don’t think about how she died so she could give her sister a chance. To make up for the mistake of leaving her in the Red Room. To let her experience a life full with free will.

And definitely don’t think about Yelena. Don’t think about Yelena coming back after the Blip and not realizing till two weeks later, where she’s staring in horror at a tv screen. A tv screen that read the words she had feared most her childhood.
Don’t think about Yelena being so mad. So mad at her sister for abandoning her yet again, even if it was to save her. So mad at Barton… who could’ve saved her.

Because it couldn’t have happened. She couldn’t have lost her sister just 2 years after getting her back. It wasn’t possible.
Don’t think about her being upset the Avengers never came to tell her.
Don’t think about her, in a blur of sadness, wandering back to Ohio, finding the forest with the fireflies, trying to ignore the fact that she doesn’t have a body to bury. And her grasping a nearby stone, and slowly taking out her knife. Don’t think about Yelena messily carving out her sisters name and a small quote: “She didn’t lose her heart” Yelena picking some flowers and trying to make her mess of a headstone pretty. Her hearing a whistle of wind passes her, shifting her collection of flowers, and Yelena slowly whistling back as tears start streaming down her face.

This is the grave she hastily made for her sister, in a fit of anger and sadness and rage and helplessness. It’s the one no one but her knows about.

Grotesque
They both deserved better
the fact that yelena was three years old when the mission in ohio started. the fact that yelena was twenty seven in black widow.

she was three and all she knew was life in ohio, whistling with her sister and forest stars and mac n cheese for dinner, and then in a plane ride, it was over. her mom and dad were gone and then nat was gone, and then she was alone and she wasn’t yelena anymore. i know that’s what the red room IS, but it’s still heartbreaking.
she’s twenty seven and hasn’t bought clothes before, hasn’t had a dog or had a sister or a family.
and seven years later, she buys her own clothes and owns a car and has a dog. but she doesn’t have sister.

this movie ripped my heart out and put it in a panini press.

I’d do anything to have a love like that
