Dan drops hints, drops merch, and writes a whole novel explaining that it took 2 years to put “my soul” on a black hoodie. Phil gives no hints, writes a newsletter that tells us absolutely nothing, and drops brand new designs out of the blue

Not just that, but Phil’s designs are unexpected for his previous branding, with the uncertainty of “To be continued…” It’s darker and moodier and it has his face on it, which, I guess there was Hot Topic merch recently with their faces on it, but they’ve mostly not done that, and the text isn’t something we’ve seen as a slogan or popular quote… It all feels like it means something! (Whereas Dan’s means, Dan wants you to buy stuff that relates to his brand.)

My genuine opinion is that I don’t think they need marriage to solidify anything in their relationship and that they probably already consider themselves about as married as two people can get. If they do intend on going legal at any point I’d think it’s been a given between them and a topic of casual ‘one day’ conversation and therefore not something that one of them would ever be surprising the other with. 

So it’s not something I’m generally very concerned about. But, you know, Japan’s a great place to pop the question if one of them wanted to follow through with the formality of it. 

No but the thing is, Dan’s eyes go to Phil first. After every rock-paper-scissors sequence when he looks into the audience, he looks at Phil first and then he looks at the rest of the audience. Sure, Dan Howell is a born entertainer and knows how to please a crowd. But he’s not really hamming it up for the crowd here. He’s literally just being his usual exaggerated silly self to provoke those giggles from Phil specifically. Phil is first, and everyone else comes second. And damn if that hasn’t been the case ever since Hello Internet.
