I... Am Not Good At Life

My name’s Mercury. They/Them pronouns. White, neurodivergent, and queer. Minor. Gushing about books + other nerd things. I might post some writing or art stuff eventually and I have several long term projects planned, but due to school a lot of that has taken a back seat. Black lives matter, love wins, neurodiverse people deserve accommodations.

Let Me Express To You The Unique Struggle Of Playing An Sport That Nobody Knows About (tm). The Thing

Let me express to you the unique struggle of playing an sport that nobody knows about (tm). The thing is that every time someone asks you if you play a sport, you either have to awkwardly lie and say no or go through the effort of explaining the whole thing! I’ve gone through the point system of rhythmic gymnastics so many times I want to scream~ Similar to other dance-adjacent sports, no one thinks it’s a real sport, either! Like, you think the splits don’t take effort? You wanna memorize these routines? Also, with rhythmic gymnastics specifically, everyone always thinks you do aRtIsTiC gymnastics, and then as well as explaining the sport itself you also have to explain how it differs from its sister sport. It’s,,, so,,,, annnnoyyyying.

Whenever Keefe makes fun of his bangs he pretends like it doesn’t matter, but actually it makes him wonder if he made a mistake not only dipping his bangs but running away. Eventually he snaps and shows Keefe the scar and they have a nice solidarity moment, maybe Keefe talks about his mom stabbing him or something.

Headcanon that Tam has a scar on his head from that one time he dipped his bangs in molton iron or whatever

oh my god rainbow magic. i’ve been thinking about rainbow magic so much recently, i legitimately started rewriting the entire series (which has 200+ books and is still ongoing, by the way)

There’s got to be a term to describe that like. Extremely specific era of children’s literature where all the books were novellas printed on low quality paper, pumped out on a near monthly basis, and made for series that sometimes stretched into hundreds of books

Animorphs. Goosebumps. Bailey School Kids. Babysitter’s Club. Magic Treehouse. Series that plague public libraries and second hand book stores to this day. A genre that was nearly wiped out overnight by the success of Harry Potter, and the newfound desire for kids to read long form literature

It was like pulp fiction for kids

...mindless screeching bc queen of mean is /audrey’s/ song, not mal’s...

I Never Get Miraculous Ladybug AMVs That Use Songs Like Queen Of Mean Or Crossing The Line To Summarize

“I never get Miraculous Ladybug AMVs that use songs like “Queen of Mean” or “Crossing The Line” to summarize Chloe’s and Lila’s situations. Like. they’re in the predicaments that they’re in because of reasons that are mostly their fault, not just some bad luck. They never really got to suffer or know the value of hard work. They aren’t characters like Cassandra (Tangled) and Mal (Descendants). Their characters don’t match theirs at all in my opinion.”
