My name’s Mercury. They/Them pronouns. White, neurodivergent, and queer. Minor. Gushing about books + other nerd things. I might post some writing or art stuff eventually and I have several long term projects planned, but due to school a lot of that has taken a back seat. Black lives matter, love wins, neurodiverse people deserve accommodations.

Oh My God Rainbow Magic. Ive Been Thinking About Rainbow Magic So Much Recently, I Legitimately Started
oh my god rainbow magic. i’ve been thinking about rainbow magic so much recently, i legitimately started rewriting the entire series (which has 200+ books and is still ongoing, by the way)
There’s got to be a term to describe that like. Extremely specific era of children’s literature where all the books were novellas printed on low quality paper, pumped out on a near monthly basis, and made for series that sometimes stretched into hundreds of books
Animorphs. Goosebumps. Bailey School Kids. Babysitter’s Club. Magic Treehouse. Series that plague public libraries and second hand book stores to this day. A genre that was nearly wiped out overnight by the success of Harry Potter, and the newfound desire for kids to read long form literature
It was like pulp fiction for kids

let’s be honest, this isn’t a theory. it’s just canon.
A theory my friend has:
So, I told my friend (who’s also read kotlc) about the melves. They thought it was unlikely, but mostly because there’s not any mention of gay elves.
So, then they said that maybe just all the gay elves live on the moon.
Like, a runaway group who have basically disowned elven culture for its rigid matchmaking rules and surrounding shame.
When Alvar lost his memories and stuff, Alden and Della tried to make a cake for Alvar and Fitz stared them dead in the eyes before saying, “No. The cake is sacred.”
kotlc headcanon(s?)
Dex is a good baker because of all his practice in alchemy with his dad, and Keefe is a good artist because of his photographic memory and drawing practice
so hear me out: Dex and Keefe collab to do baking projects together
Let me express to you the unique struggle of playing an sport that nobody knows about (tm). The thing is that every time someone asks you if you play a sport, you either have to awkwardly lie and say no or go through the effort of explaining the whole thing! I’ve gone through the point system of rhythmic gymnastics so many times I want to scream~ Similar to other dance-adjacent sports, no one thinks it’s a real sport, either! Like, you think the splits don’t take effort? You wanna memorize these routines? Also, with rhythmic gymnastics specifically, everyone always thinks you do aRtIsTiC gymnastics, and then as well as explaining the sport itself you also have to explain how it differs from its sister sport. It’s,,, so,,,, annnnoyyyying.
I am absolutely thrilled that the Spanish Flu is relevant again. It was one of my NHD projects so if anyone wants my basic rant about the Spanish Flu’s origins I’m here. The other one was Elizabeth Blackwell, so if you want to hear about women revolutionizing medical education, I can do that . Idk what I’m doing next year yet. Basically I’m saying that I know nothing about history except for two very specific things and if anyone wants to hear rants about these things I will do so happily.

I was in line at Aldi and this girl with two toddlers in front of me had her card declined and she looked so fucking sad and said “let me call my husband real quick” and it was only 18 dollars, so I just paid for it, and she was very sweet and then as she walked off, the lady behind me said `”You know that was probably a scam, right?” and like, even if it was, like what a sad fucking scam, right? 18 dollars at the Aldi. If you’re “scamming” me for some Tyson chicken and apple juice and cauliflower, then just take my fucking money.
“A scam” people are fucking wild.
