Maybe you couldn’t judge a book by its cover, but she’d read enough of the summary to know they were trouble. And trouble was the absolute last thing she needed while living under her aunt’s roof.

Yet here she was accepting a ride from Rafe Cameron, one of the most infamous figures on the island, anyway. “Don’t worry, Cameron. I won’t tell anyone about your random good deed,” she quipped with the barest hint of a smile, voice quiet but playful. “The secret’s safe with me.”
