In The Beginning Of Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, Peach Is Cursed To Have Her Voice Turn Into Bombs

In the beginning of Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, Peach is cursed to have her voice turn into bombs whenever she speaks*. The bombs cause explosions and shake the ground upon falling.

The prototype version of the game also adds Toads falling from the ceiling when Peach's voice bombs explode, which was removed from the finished version of the game.

*this situation is more complex than it appears at that point in the game, but a more detailed explanation of the events is omitted to reduce spoilers for those who have not yet played it.

An Extremely Versatile Glitch In Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga Involves Luigi Hiding In A Barrel And

An extremely versatile glitch in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga involves Luigi hiding in a barrel and the barrel then being taken to places in the overworld where it was never intended to be. One side effect of this is that during cutscenes, if Luigi enters a scene while hiding inside a barrel and the script calls for his sprite to change into a cutscene-specific sprite, the sprite will be displayed with an incorrect palette.

An example of this can be seen in the provided screenshot. Before the rematch against Popple in the Winkle section of Chucklehuck Woods, Mario and Luigi run around the area, preventing Popple from trying to leave. If Luigi enters the scene while inside a barrel (not normally possible without the glitch), then his clothes will turn brown and his skin will turn blue when he blocks Popple’s path.

In Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, Golden Mushrooms (which Fully Restore HP And BP For Mario Or Luigi)

In Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, Golden Mushrooms (which fully restore HP and BP for Mario or Luigi) are highly limited items, with only five of them being normally obtainable during a playthrough. However, there is an exploit which allows an unlimited amount of them to be obtained.

During the final battles against Fawful or Popple, performing an advanced Swing Bros. attack on them results in stealing a Golden Mushroom from them. As this can only be done once per battle, this normally results in obtaining only one Golden Mushroom.

However, if the player then lets Fawful/Popple defeat Mario and Luigi, and then restarts the game from Beanbean Castle, the stolen Golden Mushroom will remain in the inventory, but the battle will not be marked as completed. As such, upon battling them again, another Golden Mushroom can be stolen. This can then be repeated arbitrarily many times.
