Seems he's fully willing to call her out on that, expression scrunching up in obvious distaste. So what if he's a kid? Doesn't mean he's somehow not supposed to be here more than her! Her question ( and slight acquiescence ) does catch him off guard, though — for a moment, it's clear he doesn't know how to answer her.

Somehow, he thinks ' something in there is killing kids and tried to kill me and I need to figure out what it is ' isn't going to get him very far.

For the sake of his pride, he'd really appreciate if Michael ignored the way he'd squeaked ( both in surprise and a brief flash of fear ) when he'd scooped him up, arms and legs immediately swinging in an attempt to fight back before he'd even processed who exactly it was that'd grabbed him so suddenly. Too bad Michael's holding him a bit too far away from his hits to actually reach. So instead he's just kinda flailing uselessly.

He knows he's in trouble. There's no use in trying to pretend he's not ; he'd run off to the pizzaplex ( to talk to Freddy, thank you very much ) again without telling his guardian. But knowing he's in trouble doesn't mean he's gonna go quietly. His attention turns from flailing to instead grabbing at the hands that have a grip on him, trying to pry them off.
