I'm sorry for these Russian people who had to stand their national leader spreading lies for aeons, enrich himself over their backs and who has now declared war on Ukraine in their nation's name. They too are going to be hurt by this war: by the sanctions, by the international political and economical backlash, by this horrible despot and his troops. They are very brave for showing their opposition to this invasion.

God, I hope Putin will get his comeuppance.

For all the tankies and misguided “leftists” who somehow think that backing Putin is the way to show how “pure” their “communism” is—THIS is how you do it. THIS is how you rise up. These Russian protesters aren’t talking shit, while hiding behind a keyboard, in the safety of a country that’s safely not being invaded. These Russian citizens are openly protesting Putin’s war and their own government. They are putting it all on the line and literally risking everything to protest Putin’s imperialism. They are showing solidarity with the people of Ukraine.

I didn't feel it was appropriate for me to add to that last post but it's related so - Please, for the love of God, learn to manage your own emotional responses to media on your own.

Maybe it's because I started reading horror at a young age, but I learned pretty quickly that if a book is too heavy or graphic or whatever for you, it's alright to recognise those feelings, and either stop reading it entirely, or take a break. Do something that helps you calm down. Re-engage with comfort media. Give your pets a lil kiss.

It's not a moral failing on the author for a book to upset you. It's not a moral failing for you to be upset. It's just a fact of life we all have to learn to cope with.

If you are looking for an emergency exit from Ukraine, Poland will open EIGHT safety points on the border with Ukraine (you will get warm food, medical help and from there you will be guided to safety) in two of our voivodeships: lubuskie and podkarpackie. It is confirmed by the Polish Secretary of State in the Chancellery of the Prime Minister, Paweł Szefernaker.
