Good fucking morning from Ukraine after the massive shelling by russia with almost everything they've got. I personally heard pretty loud explosions over my head. Thanks to our air defence I am alive.

But still there are lots of injured people across all the country as well as some dead.

"Gentle" reminder that russia is a terrorist state

Upd: the numbers of injured and killed are growing

Will never forget how long the 2-metre walk from my bed to the window in the morning of 24.02.2022 felt as I was desperately trying to persuade myself that the booming, earth-shaking sound was just an unusually vicious thunder, and simultaneously thinking 'what if I pull the curtains open and there is no rain?' I pulled the curtains open, and there was no rain. No thunder clouds. Just the faces of neighbours also woken up by the missile explosions looking out of the window. That's when I understood that the war began.

Here's a reminder that Ukraine still needs donations badly to fight off the invasion.

United 24 and Come Back Alive are both verified charities that support the Ukrainian military. They offer various options, for example, collecting money for medical equipment, humanitarian demining and rebuilding Ukraine if someone doesn't feel comfortable donating towards weapons.

Today is the Orthodox Easter, so I wish happy holidays to everyone celebrating! Unfortunately, russia keeps shelling and sending missiles and drones all over Ukraine, trying to kill as many civilians as possible before the 9th of May. As Europe spends the 8th of May remembering all victims of the WW2, russia has turned the 9th of May into a huge twisted celebration of "victory", even claiming that they can repeat the tragedies if they choose to. Parades, demonstrations and parties are held on that day, turning the horrifying war into the celebration of weaponry and violence. You can guess why russians are trying to kill as many Ukrainians as possible before that date, to show off their violence not only to themselves but to the whole world, reminding everyone that they do have the strength to cause tragedies without being punished for it.

Today we went to the church, even though we are not a religious family. It's a tradition to go to church in the early morning and get splashed in our faces with holy water by a priest. We bake Easter cakes, named "paskas", paint eggs, named "krashankas" or "pysankas", and take these delicious treats, plus other food, in decorated baskets to the church. There everything gets splashed with holy water and everyone happily returns home to celebrate! We meet up with our relatives every year, so for the preparation we have to clean our apartment, cook various dishes and prepare the cakes.

This plus exams plus going to the hospital after university to get vitamin shots to deal with mental illness, is probably the reason why I got weak in my health. We have been warned to expect big air raids in the next few days, and I have been unlucky to catch a virus and fall apart in the middle of the celebration with a 38.8 degree fever. I dread to get a message telling us about russian missile carrying planes getting off. I would have to go to the cold subway with fever, which is a fate better than worrying about the missile danger at home and hearing explosions outside my window. Horrifying how our lives turned into this. But I am thankful to be alive

The War in Ukraine didn’t “magically go away”

💙💛 REBLOG IF YOU AGREE TO SPREAD AWARENESS 💙💛

Here’s your daily reminder that the war in Ukraine is STILL GOING ON, and hasn’t stopped. And that people are being KILLED. Our own family lost family friends on the frontlines.

russia has been trying to exterminate Ukrainians for centuries. All the Czar’s suppression, the Soviets making a man-made famine that killed MILLIONS - Holodomor, the start of the war in 2014..

But now on the cusp of life and death of a nation, culture, and people, everyone is ignoring us because Israel is throwing a tantrum with the United States to back it. America just forgot about Ukraine as soon as their poor poor Israel needed some help smashing 'the worthless arabs' to make more room for 'the good christians/jews'.

The Palestine situation is very bad but can we not ignore the bloody conflict in my home country that has been going on since 2014, with full our war for over two years? I’ve met some people who didn’t know it was still going on, and it really broke me.

Just a few weeks ago my mom got a call that one of her oldest colleagues, a surgeon working on the front lines, had been killed by the russians. She was crying so hard. And then I meet people who don’t know the war is still going on and I want to scream.

Please don’t let this die. Please don’t forget us. We need your support.

Слава Україні, Героїв слава. (Slava Ukrayini, Heroyim slava)

Glory to Ukraine, glory to the Heroes.

Burning Ukrainian books isn't enough for russians, they are bombing printing houses.

Burning Ukrainian Books Isn't Enough For Russians, They Are Bombing Printing Houses.

This is Factor Druk, one of the largest full-cycle printing houses both in Ukraine and in Europe (located in Kharkiv region), where a lot of Ukrainian publishing houses print their books. And today russia bombed it. There are injured and killed.

After reading this horrible news, I went to my bookshelf, and the first comic I picked up was printed by Factor Druk. And you know what's fucking ironic?

It was one of Atla comics.

I have a collection of all Atla comics that are already published in Ukraine, and apparently they were printed by Factor Druk.

Burning Ukrainian Books Isn't Enough For Russians, They Are Bombing Printing Houses.

I'm sitting here completely devastated, holding these comics like the biggest treasure in the world.

Russia is a terrorist state

Dear followers,

As you may know I'm Ukrainian. And Ukraine is being at war with Russia for 8 years. They invaded us, they annexed Crimea, they now declared so-called DNR and LNR "independent" right after sending in their troops to support "peace" (peace my a*s). The situation is getting worse.

I ask you simply to support Ukraine, share information, protest against Russia and donate to Ukrainian charities, such as Повернись Живим (here)

💛💙

To my Ukrainian followers, stay safe and strong 🇺🇦

Love you all❤️

About the Russian invasion - how is everyone feeling there? What can we do to help?

Thank you so much for asking!

A little bit of history: it's actually been 8 years since russia first invaded our country. But for the last years it was getting more and more quiet. And now BOOM again

Many people evacuated from the destroyed by war cities in 2014 and some still live there even though they support Ukraine. It's hard to leave your home. So it's emotionally different for everyone. There was a joke that people from Kyiv worry more than people from Eastern Ukraine. Because they have experienced a similar thing in 2014 and now they're more prepared than ever before.

Personally, I'm panicking from time to time, because, yup, it's stressful. Most people don't really speak about the war and evacuation because it's scary. But I feel like everyone's trying to be prepared for the evacuation or fighting. Every night does feel like a last one, after all.

Since the beginning of the war, our people have been giving money to military charity. One of the most famous military charities is "Return alive" (Povernysya zhivim). Many Ukrainians donate here every month. Here is a link for Facebook page of the charity, let me know if it translates to English or if i should make a post with translation:

There is also a charity that helps military. Yana Zinkevych, a Ukrainian politician and a commander of the Hospitallers Medical Battalion, leads this charity. In 2015 she was paralyzed during a mission and since then she has been using a wheelchair. She has personally saved more than 200 soldiers and she's awesome.

https://www.facebook.com/100020149602229/posts/914756185872693/

In her post here she makes a list of needed ammunition and the needed money.

I tried to write about the charities that Ukrainians trust in. They are famous, they have been trusted by people all these years, so as far as I am concerned, they can be trusted.

Here is a post by @everlasting-burnout who provided more links. They seem trustworthy.

It matters now.
All links are from these threads by Ukrainians: https://twitter.com/bluegreymoon/status/1495165689220505606, https://twitter.com/olgatokariu

Thank you so much for reading and I encourage to reblog. Just to remind you, I'm trying to tell about Ukrainian situation as objectively and as truthfully as I can

Ways To Support Ukraine

Ways to support Ukraine 🇺🇦

More than 500,000 people have already left Ukraine due to the invasion by the Russian Federation. The European Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Management estimates that roughly 18 million Ukrainians will be affected by the conflict in humanitarian terms, with 7 million internally displaced and 4 million seeking refuge elsewhere. To help those still in Ukraine, as well as Ukrainian refugees, we’ve compiled this list of resources.

HelpUkraineWin.org has a collection of vetted and trusted resources, charities, and organizations to help Ukraine.

Some additional ways to donate:

Vostok SOS provides immediate evacuation support.

Malteser International provides essentials for Ukrainian refugees.

Ukraine Crisis Media Center provides fundraising links and a list of tips for sharing information.

Misinformation spreads fast on social media. It is more important than ever to share accurate, verifiable news and information. Here are some resources to learn how to identify misinformation:

This video from the nonprofit WITNESS shares tips for identifying authentic sources (available in English, Spanish, Ukranian, Russian, and Arabic).

These visual verification tips, also from WITNESS, provide information on verifying images and videos (available in English and Spanish).

This interview with NPR contains tips for identifying fake TikToks.

100 days

100 fucking days since russians started the full scale war in my country.

100 days of air raid sirens.

100 days our cities are being shelled.

100 days of fear, anxiety, nightmares.

100 days of occupation.

100 days of war crimes.

I know my Tumblr is not a good place for posts like this. I know you are boring to see this kind of posts. I suppose Ukrainian theme is annoying for you, you are tired of seeing it. But war is going on, my country is on fire. Russians still kill, rape from newborns to old age people, tourture, kidnap, loot…

If someone cares and wants to help us win, donate here https://www.comebackalive.in.ua/

Every $ counts and appreciated

Sonic the Hedgehog in a field of sunflowers. It's a sunny day, and there are fields of wheat in the background.
Sonic is holding a big red and black flag, which is a variant of the Ukrainian flag signifying Ukraine's fight for independence and freedom. It's a flag that has been historically used any time Ukraine went through oppression, and so it's used currently, everywhere throughout the country to signify the unity of the people in their fight against the russian oppressors.
Sonic is looking out into the distance, using his free hand to cover his eyes from the sun. There are bandages on his right knee and left elbow.
Shadow is standing on barren ground. It is dusty, the sky dark and the colors all in hues of red. Behind Shadow are rows of different trees. His right foot is crushing a military helmet with a "Z" written at its side - a symbol of russian fascism and intent to erase Ukraine and many other nations.
Shadow is holding a big Ukrainian flag. He is looking diectly at the viewer, frowning, his expression grim. His right cheek is hurt and bleeding, with a bandage over it.

It is the 900th day of Ukraine's resistance against full-scale russian aggression. We are still here, and we will get our freedom and peace.

Been meaning to draw these for a very long time, but drawing in general has been a challenge. I'm so happy I finally finished them... Please check my pinned post for links to help Ukraine and Ukrainians like me, if you are willing. Sharing is very appreciated. Thank you..

Russians are obsessed with raping culture, especially if there are Ukrainians

"They are some kind of Hohols, Nazis. You can do whatever you want with them, have fun, and also see how you can make them do something. Knock on the cell and make them do something. Even stand on your head. Even sing the Russian national anthem until they faint. You can even repeat the Victory Day until the roof goes off," Volodymyr, one of the protagonists of the film He Too, recalls his Russian captivity. This is a film about sexual violence against Ukrainian men in torture chambers. On 27 March, the film will be screened by Slidstvo_info.
