Why does it seem like so many of you hate Rusty? Of course, cheating is wrong. If "B" left him she'd have every right. As a husband, he's flawed. But you are all acting like he's a terrible person.

I'm going to make a comparison of the series depiction of Carolyn vs. the book depiction. If you don't wanna hear about the book (which is very different from the series), then now is the time to stop reading this...BTW I am not going to spoil the ending, I'm forcing myself to keep reading only to shared plot points, along with the series.

OK, first of all, I've already confessed to falling in love with every single one of Jake's characters (yeah, even That one! But I may be mixing up love and lust there lol)

Anyway, Rusty is so good to his kids. And in the book, Carolyn is much more sadistic and cruel to him. Rusty fell in love/became obsessed with her, and she was a completely sociopathic bitch to him, and to the other characters. There's one moment of cruelty to Rusty which makes me loathe her. She doesn't deserve what happened to her, but she's vile.

Guess it's obvious I find Rusty not guilty so far! Episode 8 will be interesting!

Rusty, though flawed as a husband, tries his best to make it work with "B", who by the way, cheats on Rusty, also.

And Rusty clearly adores his kids, and only wants the best for them.

So why all the Rusty hate? And I don't see him as pathetic. I see him as a victim of a sociopathic bitch (Carolyn) who enjoyed toying with him, and enjoyed hurting him, not just physically, but emotionally.

Anyway that's just my 2 cents.

The beauty, the hotness, and the BIG DICK ENERGY Jake Gyllenhaal exuded during this scene inflamed my entire body with a strong desire to get railed by him. Also,  Jake's performance in Presumed Innocent is a testament to why he is the greatest actor of his generation.
