i love the dissonance between the way lucy dacus writes about women and the way she writes about men. when she writes about a girl it's always so poetic and raw and full of pain and sincerity. it's delicate, it's fragile, it's looking at something heavenly and knowing you can't have it, and trying anyway. it's nostalgia, it's tragedy, it's missed opportunities, it's the line between a friend and a lover and the agony of not knowing where that line is and the fear of realizing you had crossed it. it's beautiful.
then when she writes about a guy it's like you're a little bitch. fucking lame ass dude. cringe loser failureguy. L + ratio + you never knew me like you thought you did
