Shauna Sadecki - Tumblr Posts
No one understands Shauna Shipman like I do. I too had a devastating situationship with my best friend. I know how it feels. We're one and the same.
When I made a TikTok about this it totally flopped so I'm posting here as well. Anyways, I think Shauna is comparable to Eve from the Bible. Jackie, of course, being the forbidden fruit. The one thing in the garden Eve couldn't have. Shauna wanted to be Jackie so badly, she ate her to know what it was like. Not to mention the symbolism in the feast scenes. Shauna being the first to eat? And one of her fruits being a pomegranate, which in some tellings is used instead of an apple? Come on. Ben, of course, in this scenario, is God. There's also the potential of Shauna being Judas, and Jackie being Jesus. The betrayal, the inability to live without each other. And there's the Christian faith tradition of "consuming the body and blood of Christ". It's very comparable to the last supper. The religious imagery in this show is absolutely wild and if it continues on this path I'd honestly love to see which girl represents which disciple. I have a few ideas already but I need to do some research first.
I feel like we need to talk about how Tai is a lot crazier than she appears in the show. Not to say she doesn't want to be normal, and not to say that we haven't seen her do some wild things. She's just so good at hiding it, even from the observer. She isn't like Shauna, who can hide it most of the time, yet we can see her cracks. She's not like Misty, who to most people just seems... off. She's not like Nat, who is messed up in the most "normal way". She's not like Lottie, who's diagnosed with a mental illness. She's not like Van who lives in the past on purpose. Tai did everything she wanted to do, unlike the rest of the girls. She made herself important. She seems so perfect to everyone she knows, and any fissure in the facade can be attributed to the stress she's under. And this is only in the adult timeline.
We also don't talk about how Lottie seems to be the only one to work through her trauma in a healthy way. Everyone sees Lottie as deranged, as one of the ones most responsible for what happened in the wilderness. But she may actually be one of the most sane characters in the wilderness timeline.
I love Shauna's need for control. It's something that makes her so inherently relatable. But what's even better is that she knows she's not always in control. That she can't be. It's so raw and apparent throughout the entire show. Not telling Jackie about Brown. Control. Yet she wore the red dress. Out of control. Making Jackie sleep outside. Control. Jackie died. Out of control.
She's gripping onto this need for control. She's doesn't want to lose her mind. But she is anyway.
Jackieshauna if you even care
Watched But I'm a Cheerleader for my genre study today and all I have to say is:
Young Melanie Lynskey save me.
Yellowjackets (season 1 of course) spoilers
anyone else notice how on the Yellowjackets IMDB that Laura Lee (who’s dead) is just listed as “Laura Lee” but Jackie (who is also dead) is listed as “Teen Jackie” like how the rest of the girls who play the younger versions of characters (who are still alive and survive the wilderness) are listed
happy mother’s day shauna shipman. you mothered so hard it led you to cannibalism 💔
she’s a poor little meow meow. she was born in a wet cardboard box all alone. she’s suffered more than jesus. she’s misunderstood. she’s a silly guy. she experienced the horrors. she did all those crimes. she has done nothing wrong. she deserves to kill. she’s the most interesting girl in the world. i didn’t say a name, but she popped into your head, didn’t she?
I think more people should watch Yellowjackets, it's so awesome. But it's underrated in my opinion. Can't wait for s3
I also really though that shauna and Jackie...
can't stop thinking about the difference between wilderness and present shauna...wilderness shauna (at the point we are in the story, at least) is terrified by her loss of control and the unpredictability of their situation while present shauna craves theses things....maybe it's the overalasting effect of her trauma and her way of still feeling like she belongs in society idk

the wilderness chooses innocence over and over again, laura lee was lotties innocence and helped her then laura lee dies causing lotties breakdown and fall to cult behavior- jackie was shaunas innocence then they turned against jackie and ate her(metaphorically eating their 'leader' and shauna ate jackie becoming her/her innocence)..
shaunas baby was the gangs leading hope that things would be okay but the baby died and shauna and everyone lost the remaining innocence they had, javi technically was travis innocence too travis hoped for javi to come back and when he did he too lost his remaining innocence/hope he had
