i think that the premise of him being such a TAME pathetic loser is exactly what makes him so fun to write as a character like.. what pushes his buttons? what gets him to raise his voice? how does he learn to finally go after the things he wants instead of passively waiting around pretending to be happy about his life when he's clearly unfulfilled? so yeah.... this is my justification for writing a sub/sub dynamic
