my dearly beloveds .. i.... i think that my actual living breathing mother thinks i am dating a bowlcut man named either will or mike

i....so..the reasons i think so:

reason 1: i put up a fake polaroid of the bts photo of mike and will in the van where mikes holding up wills painting (yes this is very nerdy i get it). its up in my office on the wall. she saw it one day and asked who that guy was in the photo with me (she has bad eyesight and never wears her glasses and only saw black hair and bangs) i told my mom that's not me or anyone i know. however...

reason 2: i sent and received many letters in the mail this summer (hello to you lool <3) and had been known to check the mailbox religiously. this was on top of the postcards i already get from my globetrotter penpal. she doesn't know who the mail is from, she just knows its a thing

reason 3: during that time she saw that i had done up my makeup one day when i had been home all day. she asked if i had done it for a zoom date. we never discuss my love life, she would not ask unless she actually thought she knew something was happening. she's asked again when i was wearing nice clothes at home

reason 4: i went into my office this week to notice that she had gone through some papers when i wasnt there and had found and placed a post-it that i had made for a college byler wip on top of my desk face up. its a fictional note from Will to Mike about having a great day and that he loves him. written in a bold marker, added to a fictional note from Mike about what to have for dinner that is written in another version of my handwriting. stuck to it was a fake grocery list with the same situation. silly props for a wip that wouldn't even be used, just made to visualize for myself...

...which leads me to wonder if she thinks one is a nickname of mine? having left the note right there for me to re-find?? bc why would i have such a personal note between two different people? perhaps she's aware that i am insane and is rightfully chalking it all up to my confusing creative projects

lmaoooo look its been a busy week and i didnt have time to think about it til now and it just hit me why shes been like giving me looks and stuff and wondering who im talking to and im not going to call her just to ask about this so i wont know what shes thinking for a long time. but i had to lay it out and now ??

yeah i think my mom thinks im dating a bowlcut guy who writes me letters and goes on zoom dates with me and we've met up to cook dinner at his place after he finishes his classes (he prefers spaghetti over chicken dinner) and we also went shopping together for it bc we both contributed to the grocery list (also made for the wip which was stuck to the back of the post-it) and id like to think my mother can recognize different ways i write but she must also find it confusing but she'd never outright ask me so .. man idek LMAOO thats my story for today 🌈❤️
