Linked Universe- Wind HC/Ideas
Ok these are headcanons or abilities I can up about Wind from linked universe or the game. This will probably be written messy because it 30 minutes till New Years when I’m writing this.
I think Wind should be able to stand on clouds. Idk where I got this idea but I was watching RTgamings wind waker video and I saw one of the frog wind gods ( zehpos and the red one forgot his name). And I was like why can’t wind stand on clouds. If I had more modivation to write stories i would make a story about the chain in sky loft and some how Wind get knocked off one of the islands. Can the rest of the chain panics and try to dive after him but they can’t find him and assume that he must have fallen to the surface. But after a while of searching the surface ground looking for some remains of his body they make their way back to sky loft. But as they are flying back on loft wings they fly by some clouds and just hear Wind cursing up a storm trying to get their attention. Wind is stuck on a patch of clouds that stoped his fall and just is stranded there. There would probably be a moment of relief and happiness once the chain sees that he is fine but then absolute confusion on how he is able to do that.
Another ability would be that he can make clouds. I’m think after Wind starts to learn to cloud walk he somehow learns how to make them(probably with help from the wind god brother) I like to think this power would be like Shirakomo Oboro’s (sorry bad spelling) form BNHA where he can also allow others to ride his clouds. Imagine instead of wind having hammocks because of him being a pirate he can make cloud beds for others to sleep on. I feel like he might have a magic limit for how many he could carry for amount of time but he could make a cloud carry a single person for a longer amount. Like letting an injured member rest on one while still being able to travel.(I have many more head cannons for this)
Wind is gifted a conch shell so he can listen to the waves. Ok this sound weird but I was think of a story about how homesick Wind is because of being away from the ocean. He is used to the sound of the waves when he goes to sleep. But after some severe home sickness one of the chain members gets a hold of a conch shell and gift it to wind. Here’s the thing about conch shells, when you hold it up to your ear you can hear the sounds of waves. I feel like this would be a major comfort to Wind and he will hold the shell by his ears the hear the wave sound when he is trying to sleep.
Wind is just an air bender if he is a wind mage. I think wind should be able to fly and take the air from people lung like that one evil air bender form tlok but only when he is very emotional or mad. He just goes ape shit after one of the chain members gets hurt and starts to suffocate the monster around him. Another air being ablility that would be cool for wind to have is always having the wind behind his back. Like Wind is a small teen and compared to some of the monster he is fighting he doesn’t have enough strength. So he can some time direct the wind to help push monster back or even push him forward and help him speed up. I also think he can do big high jumps if the wind pushes him up ward
Ok so this is it I have a few more but am lazy and want to play Minecraft. Probably will make a part 2 explaining more of the stories explain the headcannons more or writing more headcannons I have.
I do genuinely believe that the Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (and arguably the Zelda franchise as a whole, though i myself have played literally none of these games) is closer to fitting the description of ‘Tolkien-esque Fantasy’ than most other movies/shows/games/books etc that claim that label
Like, compare this post by tumblr user wufflesvetinari, which makes an important point about Tolkien’s worldbuilding, and also lives in my head rent free:

and then these quotes from Jacob Geller’s “Every Zelda is the Darkest Zelda”

and his conclusions about the messages in Zelda games are thematically very similar to the through-lines about friendship and love in LOTR, and what a lot of authors miss about what makes a fantasy story personal and memorable:

“A world without joy and humor isn’t a compelling world to fight for” is exactly why there are so many pieces of fantasy media out there that just feel like carbon copies of each other (i’ve seen many posts that explain this better than I can though I can’t find any specific ones at the moment, just know that I didn’t invent this thesis). You’ve got the cool swords, you’ve got the wizards and the spells and the battles, but first and foremost you need the LOVE.
Let Wind shine in combat
Wind off-screen : take off his enemies without problem.
Wind on-screen : gets bullied by a lizard and have a relationship with the floor.
Zelda's tears, Link's suffering
How frustrating will it be for Zelda and Link when they will learn that the sacrifices made during BOTW Where for naught.
The useless praying
The guardians
The divine creatures
The soldiers death
The champion's and the king's death
Link's death (and 100 years nap)
Zelda's 100 years of arm-wrestling with Ganon (and lost of her divine powers)
All of this to hold back and beat a sliver of the real deal.
That what was depicted in the ancient mural was not what happened. (It was so much worse)
Their role isn't finished, they don't get to have their happily either after yet.
They will have to fight and to suffer and to sacrifice and to struggle in order to get stronger and to win (to finally rebuilt the kingdom and live in peace).
They will probably hope that the price to pay won't be too high (Not like last time).
Time travel ?
I didn't like this theory but the last trailer almost conviced me of the possibility of time travel in the game.
I would honestly prefer it if there was memories of the pas to unlock that will show the battle against Ganon, 10.000 years ago. (I hope it's that and not actual time travel).
There was a theory of there being two playable Link : the one from BOTW and the ancient hero.
But the trailer (in my opinion) showed us 2 Zeldas (the one from BOTW and the coloured girl in the priest dress with a Hylia glowing hand) and 2 Ganondorf (the one with flowy and glowing hair that looks like Demise and the rehydrated mummy that looks like TP's Ganondorf).
There's also the throne room in the castle that is in pristine condition (with some sparkling aura around the edge of the image).
And a shot of the woman that we saw on a precedent traler (a mural with that figure surrounded by tears) that coul be a flash of the past.
................................................
And if I were to theorize, I would say that the green glowing hand holding the mummified Ganondorf is the bulky dude who put his hand on Zelda's shoulder while singing Link's praises.
But that's just a theory (I don't have a clue of who it might be).
Totk minute of silence
The trailer showed a lot, but there were some pieces missing.
First of all : long hair is no more trending among the girls in Hyrule (I still hold some hope for Paya).
Second of all : some tima has passed between the two games and there might have been collateral damage.
Impa was old, already past 110 years at least. She might not be there in this game. Paya could have taken her place or maybe she accepted to try Purah's brand of crazy and got turned into a kid.
Same thing with Robby. (I hope not but, well... they're already elderly in Botw).
King Dorephan might be deceased too. We can see in the trailer that Sidon's outfit was changed : he has more armor on his shoulder and torso, he wears more tissues too (on his neck and on his hands). But the more telling part is the crown on his head. It looks terribly similar to King Dorephan's crown.
I also think the same thing might have happened to Blurbo (if I remember his name correctly), the chief of the Gorons. We don't see Yunobo in the trailers so maybe there's something going on with the goron (that or he got a growth spurt and totally changed physically).
This is just a theory without any proof but the Rito's Chief could have died too and Teba stood up to take his place. That's the 'positive' theory because in the 'negative' one, Teba could have been killed as a warrior by some monsters and his son stood up to take the champion mantle. (I hope I'm wrong because I really liked Teba. He was some reliable adult compared to the others champions. I mean, he has dad vibes). I'm rooting for Chief Teba with all my heart.
Third point :
Link's happiness might be dead in this one.
That and his arm (even though he gets a cooler one later).
And his sword
And his tranquility, his hobbies, his plans for the week
But, hey, at least he can go explore some floating islands and he gets to extent his wardrobe !
If it's really a Zelda from the past, then we will finally get a colored Zelda.
Because we were robbed of it with Tetra (who turned pastry white in her Zelda outfit).
Until now, Zelda's incarnation were always clear colored.

Hey am I the only one who feels like this (^^^^) could be a previous incarnation of Zelda, like from the First Calamity??? It's just a bit of speculation floating around in my brain, but here me out
Throughout the trailer, Zelda appears to be wearing the exact same outfit as the character above. Around her neck, Mystery Lady is wearing the same weird glowy tear-shaped object Zelda is seen holding. She's wielding what looks like some sort of light-based power, which reminds me of Zelda's divine power. And, imo, she does have a bit of a superficial resemblance to our current Zelda

And, in this screenshot, we can see that Zelda has acquired tear-like markings on her cheeks similar to those of the Mystery Woman
What this really makes me wonder is, if this Is the previous incarnation of Zelda, why is she here?? How is she going to show up in the game/what role is she going to play? Will there be time travel?? Will it be like Skyward Sword, where they had to go back in time to truly defeat the Demon King???
I love the fact that Link is such a gremlin.
So much that he ends up being an important figure of the Yiga clan, knowing their secret techniques and everything.
I see him travelling, disguising himself as a Yiga and going to chat with them, even after the end of Ganondorf. He would be that supportive figure in the clan, not always there but listening to their struggles.
He would keep the charade up, much to Zelda's annoyance. (After all this time, he's gotten attached to them and their weekly assassination attempts).
-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-
And then, one day, the chain gets on this new Hyrule. It's vast, wild and destroyed but the people are welcoming and warm.
The groups gets into a stabble that have a bar. And while waiting for their drinks, they hear this group chatting (loudly complaining) about the hero.
After closer inspection, they hear them talking about killing the hero and how hard and difficult it is. They're whinning and crying in their drinks, recounting their attempts to another guy who seems sympathetic and give them advice between rounds of drinking.
It's a deeply uncomfortable conversation to witness for the heroes. Even more so because the guy gives good advice.
They see the conversation unfold with growing horror, until the assassins finish their drinks and leave the place, sure that they will get the hero next time.
The (very well informed) advisor remains and the chain is half tempted to go talk to him about the hero.
But before they can make up their mind, a charismatic woman enters.
She's blonde, with emerald eyes that blaze with fire, and brimming with exasperation as she approach the advisor at a brisk pace. He's unbothered, waving a hand and offering her a dumb grin as she gets near "Hey Zel'-"
"Don't 'Hey Zel' me you idiot. What were you thinking?!"
"I-"
"You have to stop encouraging those Yigas. They want to kill you !"
"Nah, they want to kill the hero. They like me, they look up to me for advice and everything. And they're nice drinking buddies."
"Link, the only reason they drink with you is because they haven't realised you're the hero they're trying to kill. One day, your luck will run out and you will get killed."
"But Zel, how can I leave them so sad and depressed ?"
The chain is dumbstruck.
That's their hero ? That guy that was giving assassination advice ?? For himself ???
They look as the Zelda and Link bicker like an old married couple while they ask themselves what kind of madman Hylia sent them.
(It turns out that that Wild is a wild, trigger-happy, bored gremlin that will launch itself at chaos.)
(The yigas are just entertainment. He's part of their clan and one of their best member)
Zelda is not amused
The new magic Cane
Here ! Take this magic cane ! (Because it's dangerous to go alone)
The magic Cane power : CtrlC CtrlV
Zelda with this ultimate power >8D
The karma pot
I find it very funny that you can trash Link by throwing pots at him.
After so many years destroying the things, even the sentient ones (guardians), the pots found the way to revenge with their hero : Zelda.
The pot couldn't stand it anymore so they choose the martyr by crashing on his head. Call it Karma.

HC: Feel like after the journey, TP link's teeth stayed sharp, so he's embarrassed about them.

Somewhere in the southeast of Hyrul
Reunion

I love them your honor
The angst I posted last time has been in my brain to I needed to combat it with smthn fluffy! PLEEEASE CLICK FOR BETTER QUALITY
fun fact, this is actually a redraw of a rushed sketch from last year that I never posted
Also, here's a close up of them <3

Side profiles are hard ;-;
Been thinking about all the Links. Originally I thought Time was the only one whose deeds went basically unknown, but no, it's most of the Links.
There's almost never an instance where a bunch of people show up to help in any of the games. (Of course, I haven't played many of the Zelda games.)
I just wanna run through the games that I've played.
SUPER LONG POST WARNING
LttP: I never actually finished this one, but the majority of the game feel like you're completely on your own. Maybe people do know what he's done, though.
OoT: He fights Ganon in a world that's already destroyed. Of course, the remaining people may know of his accomplishments, but he doesn't know they know. Link is no longer in the timeline where he might've gotten some recognition. Instead, he just seems like a child who picked up on Ganon's evil before anyone else.
(I'm in the midst of playing Majora's Mask, please do not spoil it for me.)
WW: Nobody even remotely knew of Hyrule's existence. The only thing people may have noticed being wrong was the disappearance of some of the girls around towns and islands. Though, Link could easily be remembered as the person who saved these girls. (It's been a bit since I played this game, please forgive my bad memory.) And at least the sages know what he's been trying to do. Oh, and Tetra knows, but that's a given.
TP: Been playing through this one again. This time I've really picked up on the lonely atmosphere. Which is funny because that game has arguably one of the biggest casts of important people. And maybe that's why. Because despite how many people acknowledge and believe in Link, only Midna truly knows everything he's done. And by the end, she returns to her world and seals off any hope of Link ever seeing her again. So maybe the people know Link has something to do with the sudden decrease in monsters, or maybe that he saved Zelda somehow, but they will never truly know how in trouble they were before Link came along.
BotW: Idk, Link is pretty well acknowledged here. Though it seems like the villagers have no idea he even exists. The Rito even believe that Link's the descendant of himself. But he is not, by any means, the least acknowledged. After the events of BotW (in TotK), you can tell that people know who Link is, and they know that he saved Zelda and defeated Calamity Ganon. Zelda has become very beloved to her people, and Link is the guy almost always accompanying her. (I assume.)
TotK: It's been a while since I've beaten this game, so I'm not entirely sure, tbh. But my guess is the gloom dissipates, and Zelda's back and people know because the signs of things going back to normal are obvious.
Sorry, just having silly hyperfixation thoughts loll
Trying to figure what character to add into my Zelda Infections AU. On one hand, I haven't played many Zelda games, and so the cast would be small if I stuck to the characters I know. (And I am planning to kill off somebody maybe idk)
On the other hand, I really don't want to give bad characterization and wrong information because I truly know nothing about that specific Link. That leaves out a lot of beloved characters though, Including most of the 2D Links and Skyward Sword Link.

Man, I find it kind of terrifying and hilarious at the same time that Time can literally kill a random man in Majora's Mask. Sure, he's a thief, but still.
I mean, just imagine. Link panics when he sees this guy stealing so he shoots him with an arrow, hoping to simply injure him to get him to stop. Only to realize that this thief was stealing BOMBS and Link just flipping blew him to bits.
That would be terrifying ngl.
Infection AU kinda on hold while I'm playing more Zelda games
It'll be worth it because I'll be able to add Sky and Link Between Worlds Link (and maybe Ravio because I adore him already after only playing for probably 30 minutes.)
