here’s the thing

the reason why some of us fall in love with fictional characters is because we learn every little aspect of them. we learn about them inside and out; their personalities, their little quirks and habits, their thoughts, their past, and their deepest darkest secrets. we find traits in them that remind us, of us, and those we love in the real world.

some of us turn to these characters for comfort. it might not be direct comfort, but it does help. personally, i find comfort in my favorite characters from watching them growing and overcoming their hardships. oddly enough, it gives me the motivation and faith that i’ll overcome mine.

whether we come to find love for a character from an anime, manga, movie, book, video game, cartoon show, or a real show, we learn so much about them that they feel real to us.

Homecoming by November Snowflake (27K)- Harry thinks spending two weeks as a guest lecturer at Hogwarts will offer the perfect chance to get away from his troubles. Then he meets his assigned faculty guide: Potions Master Draco Malfoy.The kids are great in this fic and the development of Harry and Draco’s relationship is (of course!!) fabulous as well. I especially love it because both of them interact a lot with each other’s children AS THEIR PROFESSORS

Healing Touch by Digitallance & Arineat (19.5K)- After an accident forces Harry away from professional Quidditch and back to Hogwarts, he discovers the healing abilities of a certain former Slytherin.Found this fic while searching for massage!drarry (hehehe) and was NOT DISAPPOINTED. Harry is the new flying instructor and Draco is the potions professor who is quite willing to help Professor Potter with his injury ;)

In Pieces by dysonrules (85K)- Harry returns to Hogwarts as the new DADA instructor, only to find his teaching efforts thwarted by a very familiar ghost.THIS FIC THO! It is amazing and touching and it just took me apart and then put me back together again. It has all the angst you would expect to find considering Draco is a ghost but also I SWEAR THERE IS A HAPPY ENDING AND IT MAKES SENSE AND IS NOT PREDICTABLE OR CLICHE AND IDK HOW SHE EVER THOUGHT OF IT

More Than That by joosetta (11K)- This is a story about two 52 year old men who refuse to age gracefully.Okay I love reading about middle-aged drarry, and they are at their best here. Harry is the new DADA Professor, Draco is horrified, and then their relationship develops slowly and it’s sweet and funny and everything heartwarming

Boom Clap (The Sound of my Heart) by @femmequixotic​ and @noeeon​ (39.5K)- Post-war Hogwarts has been energized by its new teaching fellows program. Where once bitter enmity divided the wizarding community, Malfoy and Potter chummily patrol hallways together whilst Granger and Zabini seek lost parts of the castle at McGonagall’s behest and Chang supervises Quidditch when not lecturing in Charms. It’s a veritable wizarding utopia and life is predictable for the first time in years. Which is, of course, when everything blows apart as the result of a drunken dare and Malfoy’s life is ruined beyond his capacity to repair it. Ever. In a million years.Teaching fellows counts as professors, right? Right??? WELL I DON’T CARE because I love this fic and there is hallway patrol and EXPLOSIONS and pining!draco and I WANT YOU TO READ IT.

The Man in the Scarlet Cloak by @bixgirl1​ (16.5K)- There’s usually a better time and place to participate in seduction than the Forbidden Forest. Unless, of course, it’s Mating Season. In which Draco is sneaky but not sneaky enough, Harry is confident but goes a bit mad, and the Trees are either incredibly romantic or just sort of perverts.This fic has very little to do with actual teaching but DRACO IS A POTIONS FELLOW COLLECTING INGREDIENTS AND TALKING TO TREES AND HARRY IS AN AUROR COLLECTING FLOWERS AND WANKING IN THE FOREST IT’S NOT AS WEIRD AS IT SOUNDS (ONLY MAYBE IT IS) AND YOU MUST GO READ IT THIS MOMENT

college study tips that actually help

put your phone on silent and put it across the room

listen to classical/soundtrack music without lyrics

make index cards for important vocab

wear pajamas

make diagrams and pictures. they don’t have to look pretty, as long as you understand it

make timelines for historical events

have a light snack

drink coffee or tea to keep you going

take a break every hour or so

have one pencil/black pen and one colored pen or highlighter. anything more will just distract you. the aesthetics aren’t important, your knowledge is

don’t be afraid to email/message your teacher or a classmate if you don’t understand something. the last thing you want to do is learn the incorrect information

know that sleep and health is more important than your grade. you cannot perform as well on a test if you are tired or sick. take care of yourself

it’s not a race. it’s not about who can learn something in the quickest time, it’s about learning

take a deep breath 

prioritize your homework by how long it will take you and when it’s due

plan some you time in between studying and school

if you’re mentally exhausted, set a timer for 30 minutes and take a nap. any longer and you’ll wake up even more tired

don’t understand something? that’s perfectly fine, don’t stress over it. ask for help rather than complaining

have a goal in mind and write them down. say things like “i am getting an education so i can get the job of my dreams. the life that i want. the happiness that i deserve”

be thankful. it is a privilege that you get to go to school and get an education.

So this is my first art of 2018!!!! and it’s a fanart on  “Casting Moonshadows” Fanfic! :D I usually don’t do Fanart on Fanfictions, because I have in my mind my version of Marauders’ story  and I like to represent my interpretation of the events ( which could be canon or not). Anyway, Some days ago a friend introduced me to “Casting Moonshadows"  and I found it awesome. I was so impressed with this chapter/scene. Everything was perfect: the characters,the dialogues, the setting, Remus tenderness (and the idea of the owl following him everywhere is adorable). As soon as I read this chapter, I felt the need to illustrate this. so here you are! :)

So I just gave myself hella Draco feels.

Like, I was thinking, what if Draco found the mirror of Erised in first year. What if, for all his young arrogance and self importance, he looks in that mirror, and sees a little blond boy/girl next to him. What if, and I don’t even know where I’m getting this, but what it Draco really wanted a sibling? What if, in that big manor, whether you like the idea that his parents were loving or absent, that big lonely manor, what if all he wanted was another kid to play with? One who could be there all the time, and not just sometimes, like when his friends would visit?

What if Draco desperately wanted a little sister, or a little brother.

And that’s what he sees in the mirror? Himself, happily playing with a younger sibling, or hell, even an older one.

What if Draco just wanted a bigger family?

what if that’s a small part of why he is so hateful towards Ron and his big family

It doesn’t always have to look nice. Sometimes you need to get over making everything look aesthetically pleasing and tumblr-worthy and just do the work.

Sometimes it’s late at night and you’re tired and you want to set an alarm and get up early to finish your work. You’ll set the alarm. When it goes off in the morning, you’ll silence it and go back to bed. This strategy very rarely works.

And sometimes it’s late at night and you’re sleep-deprived, exhausted, and want to die because of school. Just go to bed. Missing one homework assignment won’t kill you, and you need your sleep. 

But do your homework. Sometimes you do need to stay up late to finish assignments and you just have to deal with that. Find the happy medium, and always put your personal health first.

You don’t need to stay in every weekend and work. You’re young!  It can be hard, but set aside time to hang out with friends.

Talk to your teachers. They will help you. They were teens once.

You don’t need to have straight A’s.

That bad grade isn’t as big of a deal as you think it is.

Even if you have two weeks to work on an assignment, start it ASAP. You’ll thank yourself later.

Sometimes you just have to break down and cry. Let yourself do it. You’ll feel better afterwards.

Not understanding a unit or a subject does not make you stupid, even if someone explains it to you five times and you still don’t get it. Sometimes it will take ten, fifteen, twenty times for it to click. That’s okay.

Everyone struggles in at least one subject.

Coffee and tea are nice, but sometimes you just need water.

Even if no one is there to tell you, you’re doing great.

7 ways to become HAPPIER

Having a bad day? Read this.

1. Start a reflection book/box - Every day, write something that made you smile, and mark down the date. Whenever you feel down, read some of the entries, and remind yourself of the good thing in life.

2. Sleep more - It’s scientifically proven that sleeping improves happiness, productivity and focus. 3. Smile - Smiling will make you feel better, and it’s even better when it’s done while thinking of an amazing memory.

4. Be kind - It doesn’t have to be a huge act of kindness, just do a few little things when possible; open doors, smile at people, or even compliment someone. Seeing someone else smile because of you is a great boost.

5. Be comfortable with who you are - Nobody’s perfect. Dwelling on our flaws makes it much harder to be happy. Learning to accept ourselves and being kinder to ourselves when things go wrong increases our enjoyment of life.

6. Take a cold shower - taking a cold shower awakens your senses, and can help keeping skin and hair healthy and can also relive depression

7. Surround yourself with more positive friends - You learn a lot from your friends, if they are positive, you will start to have a more positive outlook on life.
