I have a whole thing about that actually, see when Din has his helmet and armor on he’s this strong will, confident hunter who vowed to protect what he lost. Without that he is simply a man who lost his child, who doesn’t know a way without the Mandalorian, who broke his ways. It’s flawless acting that Pedro Pascal is able to pull off that makes that scene so believable and us wanting to watch more.
