I plan to make it for garden mysteries Lala because I lover her red colours!!
A shirt and dress for Meowlidy <3
A mock-up of an outfit for Draculaura, still need to fix the pattern a bit … sometimes making your own patterns is hard ://
Indigenous Canadian dolls 🧡
Today is National Day for Truth and Reconciliation in Canada, also known as orange shirt day, we wear an orange shirt, typically with the slogan “Every Child Matters”, in remembrance and acknowledgement of what happened to Indigenous children in residential schools.
As a doll blog I feel like it is only fitting for me to highlight some amazing Indigenous Canadian artists and dolls on here!
Saila Qilavvaq from Maplelea Girls
Saila Qilavvaq is a Maplelea Girl doll who is from Iqaluit, Nunavut. She wants to be a fashion designer who brings an Inuit flair to her looks. Each Maplelea doll comes with a journal and Salia’s is the first to be written in English, French, and Inuktitut!
Along with the dolls, Maplelea Girls also makes fashion packs you can buy. Here we have the orange “Every Child Matters” shirt, Saila wearing a traditional Amauti coat, and Canyon’s Dress which was designed by Teresa Snow (the outfit is based on an outfit she made for her own daughter, Canyon)
Ribbon Skirt dolls by Tracy Boucher
These custom Ribbon Skirt dolls are meant to show women, girls, and two-spirit individuals their worth and bring attention to the MMIWG movement. Ribbon skirts are meant to be floor length and touch the ground to have connection to the Earth. Boucher further discusses the dolls and the meaning of the ribbon skirt in this interview.
No-Face dolls by Audrey “Bill” Wilson
Wilson is a Chippewas woman who based these dolls off an indigenous story of a girl who is too vain and so the Great Spirits take away her face. The story is meant to be a lesson to children about humility. More of this story can be found in this interview.
Whetung Ojibwa dolls
In the 1960s the Whetung family began crafting more to sell at their store (now the Whetung Ojibwa Centre, a museum with indigenous art to purchase). The doll in the blue dress is named Waboose Whetung and if you find her hidden around the Whetung Ojibwa Centre you can get $5 off your purchase. More information about the Whetung history can be found here.
once taylor swift said, "you know the greatest films of all time were never made," referring to the crossover of monster high and ever after high.
Not to vagueblog but some of you are definitely the sweetest souls and I think of you fondly
Ghoulfriends <3
Cooking something??? Maybe.
More of the Hissfits!! I love them so much and wanted to ramble about what I love most and want to do to them (under the cut ofc)
Unboxing !!
The sisters!!!
Meowlidy and purrsphone are literally me and my sister! Maybe why I like these two so much…
Anyway, both of their bangs/fringe are gelled SOLID. I am definitely washing their hair soon.
I also don’t particularly love Meowlidy’s red skirt, so I plan on making her a white skirt to make her outfit a bit more cohesive.
A bit disappointed that their tails don’t make a heart when put together, but whatever
Toralei!!
I plan on restyling her tbh. But her makeup is so pretty!!
Ok. Love my dolls. But it took forever get these ghouls in Canada. I ordered them on July 10th on Amazon.ca. JULY !! And I got them today. It took so long, but now they’re mine!!
I paid 82$ CAD for this pack, which is 31$ a doll. I know it might sound expensive, but this is actually very cheap! Most dolls at my Walmart are 40-50$ and it’s just one doll! Canada is an expensive place lol
I still can’t believe I have these dolls rn! I feel very blessed :3
And they still haven't cared enough to give Ghoulia a song huh.
too cringe to talk to my mutuals so i just like their posts
Monster High g1 purists are so fucking meannnnnn oml. They're all celebrating the G3 show being cancelled when IT'S NOT FOR THEM.
Like if you don't like the designs or the changes they made don't watch it instead of shitting on it constantly. I wouldn't say it's a favourite show for me or anything but I'd take the experience of being able to use Twyla as an introduction to autism for my younger cousins over keeping the g1 designs in a heartbeat.
The representation in the show was sm better than g1 and a lot of them refuse to admit that bc god forbid they disparage their favourite rose tinted glasses nostalgia piece in any way. Getting to see a character I related to as a kid because I'm autistic be made explicitly canonically autistic in G3 has meant so much to me AND SHE'S VOICED BY AN AUTISTIC VOICE ACTOR. The representation is there on screen and behind the scenes and some people still try to claim it's less diverse because there are less accents (which were never accurate in the first place??).
It's also FOR CHILDREN. NOT CYNICAL ADULTS WHO WANT THEIR CHILDHOOD MEDIA UNTOUCHED. My younger cousins love G3 Monster High because it's their generation of it and they're not all that interested in g1. It's was good for its target audience but g1 purists can't accept that they're not the target audience anymore.
G3 isn't perfect but neither was g1. And it sucks to see a show that had so much care and love poured get its cancellation celebrated when it was perfect for its target audience. Goodbye G3 Monster High TV show, you deserved better.
I'm seeing rumors of G3's animated series being canceled today, and I'm desperately hoping that it isn't true but mostly I'm disgusted with the toxic G1 stans that think this is cute or it's sooo funny to be happy about. I personally think Mattel and Nickelodeon are playing a big part in the shows constant threat of cancelation/lack of ratings since it's not even readily available on Paramount+ itself to watch like I literally only have access to the show from catching Hulu live recordings of the show. It just sucks seeing G3's potential constantly being stunted from it's lack of a true platform in the streaming world and the G3 haters that hate on anything this new generation is trying to do show or dollwise. I wish people would realize we had our turn with Monster High and you should want G3 to be around to share with future gens. 💔 I'm hoping G3 will have a long enough run I want to share and enjoy something I loved as a kid with my niece and it makes me sad I may not get to now. Also as a since G1 fan myself I prefer an imperfect MH to be around instead of MH being gone again. Just on another side note for a brand like Monster High to have longevity in the toy world modern kids need to be able to connect and take interest in G3, no brand can survive entirely on nostalgia alone so any toxic G1 stans might be affected too if G3 dips and they decide that continuing some forms of G1 isn't worth pursuing anymore.
WIP g2 toralei!! Thrifted her a while ago and just wanted to show her off :))
Me and the mutual I pulled by being actually I have no idea why they followed me but I'm glad they did
Finished the Frankie sketchbook spread and added a fun little interactive element.

Crazy things happening on Walmart.ca
A little redress of catty!
The dress really goes well with her skin but not so much with the pink hair + nails :/
Still absolutely in love with catty, might be my favourite g3 doll :P
Not Deuce third wheeling 💀
