Hi I Want To Talk About The Hair Tests For The Mh Dolls That Were Just Published On Carroll Hensley-rodneys
hi i want to talk about the hair tests for the mh dolls that were just published on carroll hensley-rodney’s portfolio
first up is g3 toralei. as she is the most jarring. it seems that in production they really did want toralei with a side part bob, but i guess in the end she got her long hair. also, her screening for the ghoul spirit doll is a little different, and a little scary 😅. still not as scary as that earlier prototype of her though…
next up is lagoona! her core screening is the same as those box prototypes and i still prefer this screening. BUUUT this ss1 test has completely different makeup and hair style! i love and prefer the crimped hair, i also love her makeup look (though i do think it’s better suited for a different doll) the blue and purple eyeshadow is gorgeous, i need it to comeback alongside this crimped hairstyle for lagoona
creepover and monster ball drac! i put them here because their screenings are little different and i find these variations interesting. monster ball has more of a saturated purple pink and a lighter brown; i do like her final screening better. creepover has a lighter makeup look and almost a sadder facial expression
this chucky surprised me because the screening is totally different! i think this screening screams more “chucky” to me, i don’t know much about the franchise, but going by appearance it’s a lot more accurate in my opinion
ok, that’s all! i will include a few more in reblogs though, those are just the ones i care less about

Sewing doll clothes!!
Tights/fishnets!
Tights make any outfit look cool. This is a really easy beginner project. Let’s make some! (I recommend reading through the whole post before starting!!)
Start by finding the doll you want to make tights for and a roll to plastic/cling wrap. (I’m using a Barbie, but you can use any doll!)
Cut a small rectangle, enough that you can wrap this around the doll’s leg and have extra on the side
Get the doll’s leg on the plastic wrap, over to one side. Then, you’re going to fold it over the dolls leg to cover it completely. It should fold like a U, touching but not wrapping around. DO NOT USE THE EXCESS TO WRAP AROUND THE EDGES!!
Move the excess plastic to the back of the leg (this is where the seam will be when we sew)
If it helps you, draw a line where the plastic wrap connects to each other. Cut the plastic where your line is
Take the plastic off the dolls leg and place it on a piece of paper, then trace. It doesn’t have to be perfect, mine is quite lopsided!
Cut your pattern out!
(Sorry for the pattern looking like this lmao) fold your pattern in half, then find the half thats smaller. Make a line like the photo above, and cut! Congrats, You will have a symmetrical pattern for doll tights!!
If something doesn’t make sense, just ask! I’m happy to help :))
Part 2 soon bc I hit the photo limit :)
the kids online safety act passed the u.s. senate.
long story short (for anyone who hadn't heard of this before) the kids online safety act, aka kosa, is a bill that will censor online content and resources for lgbtq+ matters, reproductive healthcare, activism (INCLUDING PALESTINE AND LIKELY OTHER CRISES GOING ON LIKE IN CONGO OR SUDAN), mental health, etc. everywhere--its effects likely won't be contained to just america.
today, july 30th, 2024, the senate passed it 91-3. it has officially moved to the house of representatives.
is this a pretty massive setback? yes. do you have every right to be scared, sad, angry, or whatever else about this happening? absolutely. but should you give up hope completely? NO!
even though kosa passed the senate, the house is on break/august recess at the moment. we have around an entire month to get emails, calls, and faxes in to house reps, maybe more depending on when they decide to vote on it.
should it pass the house and get signed into law, we still have a whole 18 months before it actually goes into effect. this is plenty of time for digital rights orgs (e.g. fight for the future, the electronic frontier foundation) and other groups that oppose it to file a lawsuit against it. even if, worst-case scenario, it flies through the house immediately after the recess ends, we can still fight this up to march 2026.
so, yes, remember what's at stake here, but also remember that it's not over yet. we lost a battle, not the war.
below are some resources to learn more about kosa and how to contact your reps (first link) + a page that lets you directly contact progressive house reps, sign an open letter opposing the bill, and view others' testimonies against it (second link):
FIGHT. FIGHT. FIGHT.
