What I Like About Blazblue Is, That There Are Many Ways That You Can Attribute The Mythological Figures

What I like about blazblue is, that there are many ways that you can attribute the mythological figures to the characters. During the dark war, Ragna was the mythological Orochi (as the black beast with Nu) and Hakumen the Susanoo, slaying Orochi to help protect people like Celica (Kushinada). Many years later, the roles change however and now Ragna is the mythological Susanoo and Terumi the new Orochi. (Kinda like the dark war being the original movie and the later events being the remake).

Even more interesting, in order to defeat Terumi they trick the onservers into having Terumi/Susanoo being seen as the hero and Ragna as the monster (black beast/orochi), like it was during the dark war.

The game basically plays with the idea of myths.

There is also the fact, that you could see Terumi as Amanozako, the ara mitama of susanoo.

Ragna is mythological Susanoo in a red coat. The culmination of his story is just an odd spin on the Tale of Susanoo in particular where he slays the Orochi (Terumi) with the sword Orochi no Aramasa (Ragna's sword is called Aramasa), retrieves the Kusanagi from it's corpse (Noel was inside Terumi/Susanoo Unit), and brings it to Amaterasu in an act of repentance and to make peace with her (Ragna brings Noel to the Master Unit and Origin Saya to merge Noel with Origin Saya in an act to make peace with her, repent for his transgressions in the Age of Origin, and save her).

It is a mixture of 2D and 3D. Main Characters are in 3D as some parts of the environment, especially in shots with wild camera movement. But there are also a lot of 2D element. BGs of static Shots, certain close up animation, secondary characters (I am pretty certain that Gerald is 2D) and Effekts animation (The fire, smoke and electrical effects are mostly 2D).

It uses the strength of both 2D (abstract shapes and movement) and 3D (camera movement, 3D models)

The biggest issue for a long time has been the blending of 2D and 3D, but more and more studios are getting really good at it. There will be moments, where it will be more obvious, the lighting and compositing will be a big factor on how well they can blend together,

So far it looks like they‘re doing a really good job, haven‘t seen many hickups. Will wait for the final release. In the end, if I can get lost in the story with great visuals, without noticing any of the techniques in a distracting way, I‘ll be happy. Animation should help convey the story in the best possible way.

As someone starting out in the animation industry I always like analyzing animated content. Love how nearly every Sonic short uses different styles and techniques.

( I‘ll also be on the annoying camp of wanting another official Sonic anime, but mainly because SonicX has mainly decent animation. Not many great action shots compared to some of the current high budget action anime, but I admit I am an action junky. I love my high octaine, animated action scenes.)

The release of Somic Movie 3.

When the first trailer for the first Sonic Movie (with the old horrible design) came out, me and two friends made a vow to watch every Sonic Movie together in Cinema. Back then we expected it to only last for one single, maybe two movies. One of my friends didn‘t even knew much about Sonic, we just dragged them into the theater. For the third movie, we‘ve already grown to a group of four and all of us finished university.

Sonic Movie 3 is going to be the continuation of our Sonic Movie Saga as well as our reunion after university. I really can’t wait. The Sonic Movies have become some of my favourite experiences with my friends.

We‘re all comsidering going in cosplay for the third movie.

correction: israel has killed 15 palestinians in rafah in the evening of february 12. they’ve killed many more in rafah since february started. the death toll is around 400, with 76 killed today, monday feb 13. the iof destroyed khan yunis, the place where gazan refugees from the north were fleeing, and now the iof is attacking and murdering civilians in the last southern city.

do not look away from what the israeli colonizers have done to khan yunis and what they will do to rafah as long as world leaders across the globe twiddle their thumb and america continues to sink billions into this genocide.

just two days ago, the iof snipers killed a doctor in the middle of a surgery in a khan yunis hospital. there is a horrifying video of an old man, shot and crawling into the reception of said hospital, and no one is able to drag him away from the windows where snipers keep shooting at them. this is what our tax money is funding. this is what our leaders are encouraging. the entire world should be dying of shame and disgust, most especially the west, giddily supporting and paying for the nth genocide of brown indigenous people, and the greedy, soulless monsters of the uae and saudi arabia.

My friends once invited me to a cosplay event. Since I had just moved in recently, I had no costume so I used the leftover cardboard to quickly assemble something. I am actually quite happy how it turned out. I want to redo it and make a better version. I had a lot of fun putting it together, even if my room became a mess.

Also planning on making a Jubei mask

I kinda want to make a full body Susanoo suit one day. If I find the time to do it. T_T
