What I Like About Blazblue Is, That There Are Many Ways That You Can Attribute The Mythological Figures
What I like about blazblue is, that there are many ways that you can attribute the mythological figures to the characters. During the dark war, Ragna was the mythological Orochi (as the black beast with Nu) and Hakumen the Susanoo, slaying Orochi to help protect people like Celica (Kushinada). Many years later, the roles change however and now Ragna is the mythological Susanoo and Terumi the new Orochi. (Kinda like the dark war being the original movie and the later events being the remake).
Even more interesting, in order to defeat Terumi they trick the onservers into having Terumi/Susanoo being seen as the hero and Ragna as the monster (black beast/orochi), like it was during the dark war.
The game basically plays with the idea of myths.
There is also the fact, that you could see Terumi as Amanozako, the ara mitama of susanoo.
Ragna is mythological Susanoo in a red coat. The culmination of his story is just an odd spin on the Tale of Susanoo in particular where he slays the Orochi (Terumi) with the sword Orochi no Aramasa (Ragna's sword is called Aramasa), retrieves the Kusanagi from it's corpse (Noel was inside Terumi/Susanoo Unit), and brings it to Amaterasu in an act of repentance and to make peace with her (Ragna brings Noel to the Master Unit and Origin Saya to merge Noel with Origin Saya in an act to make peace with her, repent for his transgressions in the Age of Origin, and save her).

More Posts from Cavewulf

My friends once invited me to a cosplay event. Since I had just moved in recently, I had no costume so I used the leftover cardboard to quickly assemble something. I am actually quite happy how it turned out. I want to redo it and make a better version. I had a lot of fun putting it together, even if my room became a mess.
Also planning on making a Jubei mask

Still sketching all the parts though.
I kinda want to make a full body Susanoo suit one day. If I find the time to do it. T_T
One App I can recommen when looking for Kanji is „japanese“ from renzo inc. It allows you to look for Kanji by components, or if you have it on an ipad, can even try to draw the kanji and have the app recognize it. (Works half the time for me)

It has been helping me learning and finding kanji. It also works great as a dictionary.

Concept Art/Model Sheet for Meifang Lapis Lazuli
Translations for the notes on the sheet under the cut. Unfortunately, I do not read or speak Japanese. These translations are the product of the combined efforts of machine translation and my frantic, desperate scouring of online kanji dictionaries.
If you catch me making any mistakes, or you know the language better and can correct my errors, I would greatly appreciate it!

Meifang = Lapis Lazuli
About 160cm
Slender build
Modified Wings of Justice uniform

The hairpiece is shaped like devil horns.

Twintails with a lot of hair.

I thought this would be a simple post... I thought I'd throw the image in Google Translate, write three lines, and be done.
Somehow, it's been over five hours, and I've learned a bunch about the anatomy of kanji...
I was originally going to include some kind of "translator's notes" section at the end of this post, but it got way, way too long, and steady decayed into a first-hand account of my day-long hunt to identify 'which kanji this smudgey shape is supposed to be'... instead of a Meifang post.
So, I'll end things here in order to stay on track. If I ever do post the rant I cut, I'll edit a link here.
The release of Somic Movie 3.
When the first trailer for the first Sonic Movie (with the old horrible design) came out, me and two friends made a vow to watch every Sonic Movie together in Cinema. Back then we expected it to only last for one single, maybe two movies. One of my friends didn‘t even knew much about Sonic, we just dragged them into the theater. For the third movie, we‘ve already grown to a group of four and all of us finished university.
Sonic Movie 3 is going to be the continuation of our Sonic Movie Saga as well as our reunion after university. I really can’t wait. The Sonic Movies have become some of my favourite experiences with my friends.
We‘re all comsidering going in cosplay for the third movie.
Okay, let’s play a game (because it’s been a hot minute since I’ve done one of these):
Tell me one thing that you’re really looking forward to this year in the Sonic fandom, or with life in general.
Guys I really ask that you try your absolute best to spread Hani’s campaign. This campaign fell off the map for a long time, which is actually crazy considering multiple children’s lives hinge on it. I don’t really know what else to say beyond what has already been said — that Palestinians are dying by the number, that they have no electricity and no food and not even any actual shelter, that it makes my blood run cold to imagine any of my really young relatives going through even a semblance of this. Hani has already detailed that he has two toddler sisters stuck in Gaza and that he’s the sole caretaker of his entire family. He is only 23 years old. Please don’t let him shoulder this burden alone. Please spread this. It’s extremely time sensitive and I’m so worried for this family.
大草原不可避 : Keyboard smashing in Japanese

I explained how keyboard smashing in English expresses laughing really hard and she taught me the Japanese equivalent in return!!
As some of you might know, in Japanese, “w” from the word “to laugh” 笑う 「わらう」 is basically like “lol” in Japanese so when there’s a bunch of “w”’s together it looks like this wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww
and it looks like a bunch of grass so one slang word to show something is funny is 草 「くさ」 which is the word/kanji for grass so you don’t have to type out a bunch of w’s.
So the step up from 草 is 大草原 「だいそうげん」 which means prairie since there’s a lot more grass.
And if something leaves you laughing so much that you can’t hold it back you could say 大草原不可避 「だいそうげんふかひ」 which basically means “inevitable prairie”.
The “inevitable part”, 不可避 「ふかひ」 in this phrase means laughter is inevitable and you can’t help but laugh.
