okay i'm gonna write this as a part 2 to this

rafe should, in a perfect world, would be nervous about the flash of crimson and blue outside the cameron home, the perturbing colors fluttering across his ceiling through the window to his right. but his perfect world is the lack of sirens - no wailing alarms for the other inhabitants of the home to rise them from sleep and therefore ask questions he won't answer. but it still rouses the brat at his side, and he's aware of such when you reach up and pat endearingly at his cheek to go answer the knock on the door.

the effects of various intoxicants are starting to dwindle in their effects, and rafe buries a heel into an eye sockets when he travels to the first floor, catching a glimpse of the officer through the window beside the door.

he's already a grumbling mess when he fumbles with the lock and rips the door open. "can i help you?"

you're padding down the steps, toes curling against the cold wood and arm stretched over your brows to cast your eyes once more into shadow.

the man in uniform murmurs something unintelligible into the walkie strapped to his chest before clearing his throat. "we received a call about a disturbance at the thornton residence?"

rafe squints, but the expression doesn't do anything to hide the scowl. "the fuck you doing here, then?"

a woman rambles from the black box on the cop's vest, and you finally find rafe, wrapping an arm around his bicep. "what's going on?"

the officer glances at you. "it was about a young woman, around the age of 20... well let's just say the description was of yourself, ma'am. you were found outside of a vehicle for an extended period of time, clearly intoxicated and in the chill of the night. the caller was just concerned, and we wanted to follow through with a standard welfare check to assure everything was alright."

you pinch into rafe's side before any smart remarks can slip off his tongue, and he almost steps on your toe out of spite. "i'm perfectly fine, officer." you lie through your teeth. "i chose to sit outside, it was of my own volition. rafe didn't know i had left, that's all."

it takes every ounce of rafe's energy to not spit at the feet of the male who woke him up for this, and when he departs with safe wishes, rafe refrains from slamming the door shut behind his back.

"see? this is what happens when you're an asshole, rafe. karma's going to bite your ass." you turn up the stairs again, scoffing with hungover annoyance and wishing for his bed once again.

rafe follows after you with heavy feet, eyes narrowing into slits. he reaches up, plucking at the elastic fabric of the cheeky underwear once hidden under his sweatshirt. it snaps back against your sensitive backside, and you whip around with angry eyes, but he's already rolling his. "just shut up already, jesus."
