Feel like I’ve missed so much content… what is the drama with the new vp book??

KinnPorsche fandom - why being a fan is mostly about the fans and not the stars at this point 

KinnPorsche is a show that had one main couple, Kinn and Porsche (Mile and Apo), but also features two other couples on screen: Vegas and Pete (Bible and Build) and Kim and Porchay (Jeff and Barcode).

Right from the start, well at least since BOC took over, they made it clear that this show is a group project, a team effort and that they would all shoulder the responsibilities together as well as enjoy the benefits.

Many, but not all, of the actors are also signed to BOC or changed to BOC sometime later during the tour.

During the shooting of the show promo work was done by all actors, behind the scenes footage was shot for all of them and so on. When the show was done and advertising gigs and interviews started it was suddenly surprising to some that again all of the actors were there and not just Mile and Apo.

Quickly Mile and Apo fans then started to complain about the lack of footage and events for only them, clearly not understanding that while it means more footage for the fans it also means more work for the two of them. What fans didn't take into consideration is that Mile is still working for his family's business, which means he basically has two full time jobs. And on top they shot a complete new movie with the focus again, on Apo and Mile.

Jeff was not signed yet under BOC and Barcode too inexperienced and also tied up at school, so Bible and Build, Tong and all the others had to take over.

What then started was an odd form of blame game between MileApo and BibleBuild fans: Basically each group of fans demanded that their favorite ship gets more screen time than the other and becomes more heavily featured. To the glee of MileApo fans Build's past stupid comments came out and the hate was poured out over him. He was gone from public events, hurray... just Bible suddenly showed up with Apo and Mile and ... how dare he?!

Next Jeff and Barcode did more events and the whole thing entered round three. Jeff was basically called a child molester, Build had been cancelled already and BOC was incompetent and not interested in MileApo fans, the fans said.

Bible and Build fans also only wanted their couple to be featured and a turf war in twitter started between the two fan groups. One group demanded and apology from BOC then the other group did, then the actors were dragged into it and one was called talentless, another apparently was hated by his peers...

The fans went as far as saying "I don't give a shit when MileApo tell us we want to get along all of us and we want everyone to have opportunities". Who trended what also became important and a simple "Thank you to the fans" from BOC was not enough anymore, because they demanded that the exact fandom would be named who made the trending (in their minds) possible.

It became more and more obvious that it's never been about Apo, Mile, Build, Bible or Jeff and Barcode. Ultimately, the whole thing is about the fan who wants confirmation online and from BOC or the actors that THEY did great, that THEIR group is better than another. I am waiting for the day when they demand to be named and the ship name is not enough anymore.

What the idea of entitlement can do can be seen in a different way in the Kit Connor case. Fans, his OWN fans, thought they were entitled to know about his sexuality while the OTHER group accused him of queerbaiting, a term that in this case is totally wrongly used. But it's a buzz word, so let's throw it around and drag down a person or group to make me feel better... it resulted in Kit feeling forced to out himself.

We're at a point now where fans argue with BOC and the actors and other fans about who is allowed to put a sign up where and in which size and who shows up on the behind the scenes clips more. There's arguments about who gets thanked and who is more talented.

The most stupid thing about all of this is, that the actors all seem to get along great behind the scenes. Mile and Apo are as tight as ever, Bible and Build get along well and Jeff still looks after Barcode. But Mile and Apo also look after Barcode and so do Tong and Bible. But he also gets along great with Ta. Jeff and Apo seem to have a great friendship going on with Tong and Build hangs out with Nodt and the dancers, while Bible chills with the rest or Mile goes shopping with Barcode. They all get along.

The whole discussions about who is better and gets more screen-time and has the bigger signs is all fanmade. There are people on twitter with fan-handles who, if you check their history, make one flaming tweet after the next. It's attack after attack only broken by a quick 'I demand an apology' from whoever and if they get it they critique that apology as 'not enough'.

Frankly, I myself, to talk about myself personally here for a second, am sick of this shit. I want these people to just shut up and leave the actors and the production alone and just enjoy the events. But I also think that maybe that's a stage of maturity I wish for that's just not there yet. I should give them 5-10 years and then I'd love to see them look at their tweets of "I will fight everyone for you to my death for the rest of my life" and go "Good lord... what was I thinking?!" Let's hope the damage they do in the meantime until they get there won't be too big to either the actors nor the studio or even other fans.

I'm going to start eating the walls thinking about the parallels and shit between the Kittisawat brothers and Vegas and Macau and how for both Porsche and Vegas the most important person in their life is always always their little brother and how they both put so much of themselves at risk to look after their little brothers and how Vegas so easily relented when Porsche told him he needed to check on his little brother because he knows he knows how important Chay is to Porsche in a way that Kinn never quite seems to grasp because the main family brothers don't have that close connection to each other beyond family loyalty and they care sure but they don't have anything close to the connection the others do oh my GOD

Sooo last week was crazy but I still manage to binge all the episodes of tdj and OMG… what a series. I have all the reactions save in drafts, might post them all this week :)
