yay! im so excited to request something! i love your writing! what about a reader who is a picky eater that sanji has a crush on, im just imaging sanji bending over backwards to try and make something they’ll eat 😭

One thing Sanji isn’t used to is a picky eater; the rest of the crew will eat pretty much anything he serves with any of the ingredients he happens to find. It’s a little hard to be picky on a pirate ship after all. So when he realizes his crush is a little finicky about their food? He’s pretty much going to take it as a challenge—Sanji will make it a goal to make sure they’re well fed, and have a selection of food that they’ll like to eat and will be nutritious. More than anything he wants them to be happy!

He’ll talk to them often about the stuff they like to eat; maybe showing them different stuff in his cookbook to see what appeals to them or asking them if they wish to try something when they’re out shopping. He’s even more than willing to try recipes that they might’ve given them. More than anything he’s finding a way to gauge what he can feed them, what foods he should keep in stock on the ship, and if he needs to make a completely separate dinner for his crush on the days supplies are a little more limited.

Sanji always hopes they’d be willing to try whatever he’s made for dinner; but if they don’t like it? He won't hesitate to make them something completely new! And whenever Sanji makes a new dish for them to try, he’ll always make enough that if his crush doesn’t like it, he can eat it himself or give it to someone else (likely Luffy). He won’t be offended at all if they’re unhappy with the food either, it’s part of the challenge of a cook after all to make people happy with the food their served and he won’t give up!

He’s totally observant to the things they eat overall. If they make a comment about liking a certain ingredient, a flavor profile, how he cooked this particular thing? Sanji is going to take some notes, try out a few things, and see if he can combine all the things they liked into dishes that are SURE to be a hit with them! If they don’t like something? He’s going to make sure he takes note of that as well, and will be sure not to make anything with that ingredient/method for them ever again.

The moment that his crush says they like something? Sanji is going to be over the moon and so thrilled he made something they loved eating! He’ll make sure to write any recipe down that he can, go through the steps that he took to make it so it’s perfect every time for them, and will always be sure to keep the stuff he needs to make it in stock for them.

Sanji is also very good at making sure that the pantry, fridge, and storage are kept full of snacks and foods that his crush likes. He’ll shop for them as often as he can, make sure he chases Luffy away from the food so he doesn’t hog it all, and will go out of his way to make snacks and meals in advanced and store them for his crush to have for later! He doesn’t ever want to put them in a situation where they’ll have to eat something they’re uncomfortable with just to stay fed, or that they are left without any food at all. Sanji adores them and wants to be sure they’re taken care of!
