Do aym and baal get to see forneus again?

Just a few days upon being resurrected, Aym and Baal asked if they can go see their mother again. Without a word, Narinder and Lamb exchanged glances — they've been waiting for this question to come ever since the kits stepped inside the camp, and they've already been mentally prepared for every possible outcome. Lamb fulfilled their request without further questioning.

"Could you do me a favour and not get in the way while I'm fighting?" — Lamb asked, while leading the two to the demonic summoning circle. Of course, they didn't listen.

The expedition to find Forneus took a few days, but eventually they made it there.

Incomplete and questioned guide to follower sign language

During one of his expeditions to Silk cradle, Lamb found a book.

It wasn’t anything new, he would bring home books all the time. The ones from Silk cradle had all sorts of scientific and philosophical information gathered by Shamura and their followers over the long time of their cult’s existence. Many of the books were completely useless in his own cult, but Lamb collected them anyway, not willing to leave any bit of knowledge behind.

The book was covered in dust and old spider webs, pretty much like any other book in here. The title on the cover said, in golden letters, “Incomplete and questioned guide to follower sign language”.

The pages featured different letters and words, each one of them illustrated with a drawing of a hand or two hands in various positions. Most of the hand signs resembled the words they were showing in some sort of way.

“Sign language, huh”, Lamb thought to himself. “We could work with that”.

As soon as he made it to the camp, he came up to Narinder and told him about his finding.

Upon scrolling through the yellowed pages Narinder hummed thoughtfully. “I’ve heard about sign language once before”, he finally said. “But are you thinking what I think you’re thinking?”

Baabaa smiled in excitement, his tail wagging. “Just imagine how useful it could be! For Heket, and for Kallamar, too! Not all of our followers can read, but this language seems easier to teach than reading or writing could ever be!”

“Fine”, after a moment of silence, the cat finally gave in. “You do you, Lamb”. His indifferent words couldn’t hide his fond smile. If Leshy was nearby, even he would’ve heard it.

“Glad you agree”, simply said Lamb before running off.

He found Heket in her tent, in the furthest corner of the camp where she was living with Leshy.

“Heket!”, upon hearing her name, the frog stopped reading and turned around. She looked up at Lamb, the “what do you want” question on her face, already taking out her writing book and inkwell.

The lamb sat down next to her. “So”, he started, handing her the book, “here’s what I found”.

She studied it for a moment, realization slowly taking shape on her face. She took out the quill and wrote, “do you suggest that I use this language?”

Lamb nodded. “I thought it may be useful for both you and Kallamar. What do you think?”

Heket scribbled in her book for a while, writing something, scratching it out and writing ahain.

Eventually, she showed Lamb the page that simply said “okay”.

Narinder and Baabaa decided to communicate with Heket though writing… for now, at least.

It’s part 1 out of 2 or maybe 3 (I haven’t storyboarded it further yet, so I dunno how many pages it’ll be)
