**Hey and welcome to my Tumblr blog!**

My name is sarah, and I’m a human rights activist and a proud representative for queer refugees in East Africa. I’m a lesbian refugee, originally from Uganda, but currently living in South Sudan. I was forced to leave my homeland because of my sexual orientation, and I narrowly escaped death. It has now been four years since I left, spending time in the refugee camps of Kakuma in Kenya, and now Gorom in South Sudan.

I’m using this platform to share more of my story, and I invite you to follow and support me during this difficult time. I am a lesbian with a beautiful 4-year-old daughter, and alongside me are 300 more LGBTQ refugees living in the same area. We share a common cause and a struggle to survive in a place where the law against LGBTQ people is extremely harsh. Our lives are constantly at risk.

We face daily persecution, inadequate shelter, and a severe lack of food and other basic necessities. I’m reaching out to the queer community and allies around the world to ask for your help and support. Every penny you donate can make a huge difference in our lives. We also live with people who are HIV-positive and are unable to access their monthly medication. Your support can help us access the care and resources we desperately need.
