Bananas and peaches and cherries and whatever. I swear, just use the goddamn words for whatever you're referring to with that! It just feels weird.
does anyone else ever wish that people wouldnt use food as analogy for sex as much? bc as a sex repulsed asexual, its starts to give me connotations that put me off eating sometimes asdfssdfs
My take on it is that it's weird because Violet was probably 10 or something when they met. But that's not the entire thing. Gilbert basically raised her like a parent. He taught her how to read, write, etc. I viewed their entire relationship as a father-daughter type.
With that pov, I could say that Gilbert married his unofficially adopted kid. That's extremely creepy. People could say that it was okay back then but they themselves are not from the 1900s, and there's only one group of people who would think it was okay today. So it weird that this relationship hasn't gotten more criticism.
Alright I need to vent about Violet evergarden real quick. The anime is absolutely beautiful and it made me sob my eyes out. However, Gilbert??? This man was so fucking weird, when they first met she was like??? 12 or 14???? And he told her he loved her???? THEN IN THE MOVIE THEY GOT TOGETHER????? Don't get me wrong I know that she's not a minor anymore but the age difference is so huge between them. Like, doesn't that seem like a lot of difference in the power dynamic to anyone??? Same goes to the princess and that weird 20 year old guy she got married to. Like???? The age differences? Why are young girls getting with men several years older than them???? What the fuck????
Anyway, I don't like Gilbert, and I don't like that royal guy either, that's all, thank you for listening.

Dont ask me why I’m watching Naruto SD. Just know i ship this now
NaruHina and NejiTen could never ✋🏼😩

So tired of shallow readings of texts that begin and end with "these two men were gay for each other" ESPECIALLY bc it almost always goes hand in hand with dismissing all female characters out of hand. Yes nick was gay for gatsby but daisy is an extremely important part of novel and gatsby's relationship to her is absolutely vital. Yes goodnight sweet prince is a little fruity but I also care deeply about the tense gender politics of hamlet and ophelia's relationship and her position as a foil to him and also isn't it SO much more interesting if Hamlet really did love her? If he loved her and yet? Like I'm not saying these men aren't gay but it's not worth sacrificing the women of the story
how to know if you’re in love with your neighbor
Page 2: You speak on your knowledge and regret regarding judgement and suppression.
Page 2: You call him, or some part of him, gorgeous.
Page 45: You are one of the few guests who was actually invited to his party, and you’re overly honored.
Page 52: You have a gay time talking to him.
Page 52-53: You write a whole paragraph about his smile alone and how it comforts you.
Page 58: You feel a pleasant significance in being among the last to go, as if he had desired it so all the time.
Page 72: You say anything can happen, including him.
Page 76: You agree that he’s handsome and a perfect gentleman.
Page 95: You go with him and his love interest to tour his house, upon his invitation and adamency.
Page 102: You sadly and regretfully leave him and his love interest alone in his house.
Page 112: You describe his dancing as graceful.
Page 114: You defend him.
Page 117: You seem jealous at how often he speaks of his past with his love interest.
Page 118: You find [your love?] for him uncommunicable.
Page 150: You can’t think about anything except the luminosity of his pink suit under the moon, and you feel a little weird about it.
Page 172: You’re alone on his side.
Page 172: You promise him you’ll get people to attend his funeral.
Page 173: It’s him and you against everything else.
Page 188: You spend Saturday nights reminding yourself of him.
Page 189: Your final statements about him are exclusively you and him.
