OKKOTSU YUUTA looks the most peaceful when he’s asleep. the weight of the world momentarily slips off of his shoulders. his usually sharp features relax, exposing the softer contours of his face. for at least a few hours each day, you watch as he sets down his jujutsu armor and allows himself to be a teenage boy once again.

the steady hum of the air conditioner drones on, filling the quiet of your dorm room. it wasn’t uncommon for jujutsu high to be nearly empty with most of the students out on missions, giving you an excuse to lay cuddled up in bed into the later hours of the morning. 

sunlight streams in through your opened blinds, casting a golden glow across your bedroom. you reach up to carefully push a few stray strands of hair away from yuuta’s face. he stirs at the contact, softly groaning as the last remnants of sleep escape him. 

“good morning, yuu,” you smile. 

yuuta squints at you, slowly letting his eyes adjust to the sudden brightness of the world. “morning,” he mumbles; his words slur together from sleep. you chuckle when he shuffles closer, leaning his head against your chest just above your heartbeat. 

he sighs, nuzzling himself closer to your body. your fingers dance along yuuta’s back before tangling into his ink black hair. your nails gently massage against his scalp, earning a soft sigh from him in response. “do you think we’re together in every universe?” 

yuuta shifts slightly, forcing you to pause your ministrations. he tiredly blinks up at you with a tired smile. “of course we are.”

you chuckle softly, brushing his bangs away from his face. “how can you be so sure?”

“i love you.” yuuta presses a kiss against your cheek. “i’ll always love you.” this time, it’s a peck against your nose. he smiles against your skin as he peppers a few stray kisses against the crook of your neck. he chuckles when you squirm at the ticklish feeling; his arms snake around your waist to hold you still as he finds solace in the crook of your shoulder once again. “i’d find you in every universe. i love you in all of them.”

you smile brightly at him. yuuta’s eyes flutter shut as he leans in, sealing his promise with a sweet kiss pressed against your lips.
