PRETEND THERE WAS NEVER A BREAK BECAUSE I KEPT FORGETTING OKAY?
Day 2: Your Favorite My Chemical Romance Song
It was really close between this, "Hang 'Em High", and "It's Not A Fashion Statement, It's A Deathwish," but I think this ultimately wins for me. This is, in my opinion, one of Gerard's best performances from any album, I absolutely love the intro, it's just so amazing. Really underrated song!

TOMORROW IS HALLOWEEN

TOMORROW IS HALLOWEEN!!!

I don't talk about Luna Day enough. Her music is so incredible, I need it shot directly into my veins
ok so hear me out
with chapter 103 released, anya's mind reading powers extending to animals has always been fascinating. and now even moreso, especially since it confirms that their thoughts seem to translate into 'english' (or rather, language that we understand) for anya

anya's powers are never fully explained so at first the 'belle the seal is one of project apple's latest experiment' theory makes sense given the fully fleshed out thoughts.
at this point, we are used to bond and how his thoughts are shown. because time and time again shows us that his thoughts have always been visual, and never verbal. not even once.

so which is the outlier? bond who has been experimented on, thus explaining why his thoughts are visual only, or belle, who seems to think thoughts verbally?
but no, other animals (moreso dogs) in sxf are shown to also think like belle, more vocally than visually.
exhibit a:

exhibit b:

aaron's thoughts, compared to the dogs at the pound, are more fluent. it makes sense, since he's an intelligent dog, and has also been experimented on. unlike bond, for now he doesn't seem to showcase any powers.
but this whole spiel about how telepathically anya can understand animals got me thinking:
what if anya's powers are more than mind reading? what if her power actually transcends the language barrier periodt?
with over 100 chapters into the story, we already know that classical language is her best subject. to the point that it got twilight wondering in what way or how was anya exposed to a known dead language.
but no, that's not all. not only can anya understand animals (seals, dogs in canon so far), classical language (i think it was mentioned that the spelling part was her weakness but she's almost fluent otherwise), but also western code??
western code, as in the radio frequency that twilight uses to communicate for spy work
code, as in the language that only trained individuals like spies, mafia, or etc would bother to learn, and not the common folk?
aka:

this is literally the first chapter of the whole thing. we're just being introduced to the story and the whole kidnapping thing but like.
how was a first grader (she's not even in school here yet!!!) able to communicate "This is Twilight. Tag you're it!" ???
she wasn't just tap tap tapping into that radio with gibberish, no. anya was speaking a full on sentence here. it's what got her into trouble in the first place!!
mind you, this is anya's first day being adopted as loid forger's daughter. girl had no time to master code language, and we all know she's a bit of a slow learner due to her actual age.
and she was playing.
so, a human who can read minds, and a dog who can see into the future.
tbh for me it feels like the scientists don't know what they were doing and were just doing what they can hoping for the best bc what ðŸ˜ðŸ˜
but no, if you added mastery of languages into the mix, that changes everything.
it also gives you a clearer picture into how anya was able to escape the lab in the first place.
the whole essence of WISE and focus of operation strix has always been about gathering information. twilight himself mentioned that killing donovan desmond would be easy, but reaching out and communicating with him is the actual mission.
and so, ania was able to outwit several scientists with her mastery of language, and actually escape.
and with language mastery, the west can decipher codes, ostanian language, and the like to understand war tactics and gain the upperhand. as if mind reading isn't enough, but understanding your opponent in a different language changes the entire game completely.
and so in conclusion:
canon: anya can read minds
theory so far: anya can also understand any and all languages
and: anya is too op
You can always listen to From Under the Cork Tree. You can always do that. They can’t take that from you.
