Dear sister...

I miss you. I hope you are well. Zahra is doing so good and growing up to be so beautiful and smart. You would be so proud of her. I wish you could see her. 

I wish you hadn’t left. 

I’m angry at you, Tsuu! I don’t want to be, but I am. You left so quickly and with so little explanation. I don’t know if you’re alive or dead! There are so many people in my life who’ve left me -- I hate that you’re among them. I wish you hadn’t left. 

But I will never tell Zahra that. When she’s older, I’ll tell her that you’re her mother, even though she calls me Mama. I’ll tell her that you had to leave, you had no choice. Because I could see in your eyes that night that you didn’t. And I will love her. I will love her with all of my heart because she is the smartest, most beautiful girl in the world. Tali aspires to be just like her and I can’t think of a better role-model. 

We didn’t get to grow up as sisters. I wish we had. I think things would have been better for us both if we had. But Zahra and Tali will. They will grow up and be strong, brave, smart, beautiful sisters, like we were meant to be. 

I love you, Tsuu. I hope you come home eventually. But I’m prepared to accept that you probably won’t. All my love and prayers.
