ADEUCEYUU
ADEUCEYUU
I've just been thinking about it a lot lately idk why. Especially deuceyuu. He's as bad as Ace sometimes with the shenanigans but he takes good care of yuu, Ace does too, and they make it obvious. I saw a meme and it was like
Idiot protector (Deuce) x idiot enabler (Ace) x idiot (Yuu) and yeah that's about right.
Yuu is their shared special interest fr fr.
Since it is Deucey's birthday month~ He's not the smartest in the world but he's very hard working. Especially when it comes to keeping you safe, Deuce would break if he had to see you seriously hurt. If it had been you in the hospital wing after what happened in Book 6... it wouldn't have been pretty. He does have some boyish shyness about him that keeps him from really admitting it when confronted, but if he's just talking. Whether it's to himself or to you, so long as you don't force him to name what he's feeling because he doesn't quite know it yet, he'll admit to wanting to protect you. You're smarter than him after all, he values your opinion on things.
Ace is the one who calls you an idiot as he hides his affections and desires under false bravado. But when you make stupid decisions he doesn't stop you, he would follow you into hell without even a shred of "wishing you wouldn't go there" because he knows you probably have your reasons. He just wishes you would ask him outright for help, just once he wants to hear you say out loud how much you rely on him.

I think about this all the time, and I plan on incorporating this idea in my fic!
An interesting point about this is that even though there is some meme and slang overlap demonstrated in the Eng version (Idia referencing the “me and the boys” meme comes to mind), a lot of our slang comes from pop culture references unique to our world.
The Twst cast would be very thrown off by religious references in particular. Religion, specifically Christianity, has been a major part of the English language for such a long time that even atheists end up saying “oh my god,” “thank god” or “Jesus Christ!” sometimes. Describing something as “godforsaken,” saying you’re “one helluva __” “on god,” etc. I headcanon that people in Twst would say use similar phrases in those contexts but with the Great Seven or the Greek gods.
And with pop culture slang, the boys would keep having to guess just how crazy the memes and references can get!
It starts with “no cap,” which is already very confusing to them, but they’re willing to brush it off as one of Yuu’s quirks. It’s when the references evolve into “balls deep,” “that’s what she said,” “none pizza with left beef,” “you’re telling me a shrimp fried this rice?” etc. (Floyd especially loves that one), not to mention the dictionary’s worth of SpongBob references that they start to question Yuu’s world and their culture😂
I’ve read some Twst fics and headcanons that essentially disregard the whole other world thing and just assumes the boys know pop culture and references to Earth media that they shouldn’t know. Those are probably my least fave types of fics, so I like to think about this topic in spite of those.
Okay, I need someone to do something for me. I've seen posts about Yuu/MC occasionally saying things or making jokes about the Disney movies of the Great Seven and the other students' reactions to that... But what about slang from our world in general? Like...
Yuu and Adeuce get caught doing something mischievous by Riddle and Yuu makes up an excuse as to why they're acting suspicious and Riddle doesn't believe them so Yuu says "no cap"??? I just think it would be so funny.
Or if Yuu uses old slang from our world. My personal favorite is "Come on, snake, let's rattle", which could mean trying to fight someone or asking them to dance. (Imagine asking your crush to join you on the dancefloor and they just throw a punch 👊😅)
Anyway, I just want to see the cast really confused when Yuu uses a weird/crazy saying that none of them understand.. So yeah, someone please write this! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

funny things ace has done/said that makes me think he might genuinely have feelings for the player character
flirts but then says it's a joke. literally goes "haha jk. unless? 👀"
suggested sharing a bed Twice
"i don't have time for dating when i have to worry about you" SIR????
"i didn't think i'd be into your type, but maybe i was wrong. just kidding! or am i?" I AM GOING TO KILL YOU
immediate first reaction to seeing yuu in danger is to protect them
legitimately worries about yuu when they're not around
gets defensive when yuu is insulted
hated the idea of having to abandon yuu to save himself during the playful land event, wanting to stick with them even when everyone was in active danger
is, to my knowledge, one of the Very few people who actually has yuu's phone number (im pretty sure he's the only one that actually asked for yuu's number?? malleus cmon step it up /j)
"DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW WORRIED I WAS?!" him literally every time yuu was in danger but is saved by someone else and wasn't the one to save them
his first response to getting an SOS from yuu was to drop everything and run to them instead of letting anyone else know (bro probably didn't even explain what was going on to his family 😭)
| Vil Schoenheit analysis and animatic: my interpretation on Vil’s character and overblot 👑 |
———
(I haven’t read the newest book 7 chapters yet since I play on EN)
I’ve always interpreted Vil’s story as one of validation. He may be confident, he knows his worth, and yet he can’t give himself the validation he wants/needs. Hes got tenacity and believes in working hard to be his perfect self, which is admirable, but one must wonder how much of that ‘perfect self’ is influenced by others. What really is ‘the fairest of them all’? He works so hard to achieve what he thinks it is, and even after all that hard work he’s still second best to Neige.
Vil isn’t dumb, he knows his worth, he knows that Neige works hard too, and yet it stings. Do others dont appreciate how much effort you put in? He chases validation and because of that can’t truly love himself, which is exactly what Rook meant with what he said to Vil after book 5’s ending, something how about when Vil is old and wrinkly, as long as he truly believes he’s the fairest of them all, he is.
When Vil tried to cheat, tried to poison Neige, his whole world collapsed. His overblot was a very internal issue, unlike the other Overblotters, because he wasn’t being tenacious, he took a shortcut, which he famously doesn’t like. He’s the monster he thinks others think he is, partly because of his typecasting and the bullying he endured when he was younger. He let other people affect him so much, it’s a huge part of his overblot.
This is just my interpertation of course, but I barely see anyone talk about Vil’s character and OB besides his surface level jealousy towards Neige, and I think we should talk more about him. He is already trying, working so hard, but it’ll never be enough for him for as long as he isn’t happy with it himself. His perfection is toxic. Its admirable how hard he works, and he’s an incredibly smart, talented and even confident person, but his desire for perfection, for validation, would’ve destroyed him. There’s a reason he overblotted, and its not just because ‘waaah waaah I always get typecasted as the villain and mu rival is gonna win a competition 🥺🥺’, its so, SO much more!
I want more discussions about Vil because he has so much more depth than people give him credit for. He teaches us the important lesson of loving yourself, though he’s not very good at it himself yet! I’m sorry if this analysis is all over the place, I just wanted to ramble, and I just so happened to have made a sort of corresponding animatic!
Uhh that was my ted talk about Vil. Falls of stage and breaks my neck
