I've just been thinking about it a lot lately idk why. Especially deuceyuu. He's as bad as Ace sometimes with the shenanigans but he takes good care of yuu, Ace does too, and they make it obvious. I saw a meme and it was like

Idiot protector (Deuce) x idiot enabler (Ace) x idiot (Yuu) and yeah that's about right.

Yuu is their shared special interest fr fr.

Since it is Deucey's birthday month~ He's not the smartest in the world but he's very hard working. Especially when it comes to keeping you safe, Deuce would break if he had to see you seriously hurt. If it had been you in the hospital wing after what happened in Book 6... it wouldn't have been pretty. He does have some boyish shyness about him that keeps him from really admitting it when confronted, but if he's just talking. Whether it's to himself or to you, so long as you don't force him to name what he's feeling because he doesn't quite know it yet, he'll admit to wanting to protect you. You're smarter than him after all, he values your opinion on things.

Ace is the one who calls you an idiot as he hides his affections and desires under false bravado. But when you make stupid decisions he doesn't stop you, he would follow you into hell without even a shred of "wishing you wouldn't go there" because he knows you probably have your reasons. He just wishes you would ask him outright for help, just once he wants to hear you say out loud how much you rely on him.

Thinking about an overprotective Ace who considers yuu his responsibility. He believes he has a right to stake claim over yuu, he talked to yuu first after all. When you were written off as a trouble maker with no knowledge of their world, no redeeming qualities, and cast aside as a janitor, who bullied enlightened you on the great seven? Right? 😭

It's cute. He doesn't have to be so protective, he's obviously not naturally inclined to take that role. His identity, outside of mischief, is informed by his relationship to his older brother. He could just default to mimicking those patterns with yuu, but he doesn't. With his senpais, Ace coaxes them into taking more responsibility for him than necessary. Like, in his loungewear vignette, Kalim throws him an audacious feast after his birthday which he has no problem accepting. Evidently he's not against being the younger brother or being shamelessly taken care of.

But, in regards to Yuu, his voice-lines, vignettes, and main story dialogue, all subtly express a desire to take on more responsibility for their sake. (He says it outright in his level up line) His suisui vignette has him taking control and trying to protect yuu from an unknown threat at the time. This is a major shift in contrast to his presence in Playful Land, where he is reluctant to lead while older students are still present. He gathers Deuce in book 5 to rescue yuu from Scarabia, and takes a stern tone with yuu after they admit to leaving of their own volition to follow Malleus in his enhalo vignette. Yuu is the catalyst for Ace growing up, we don't see Yuu have such an impact on other characters. 😭

But of course he wants to protect his prefect, they're only magic less and he's only human after all lol

The nicest part about this is that it very much works both ways, Yuu would follow Ace into fire too, it's just that he is much less prone to running into fire.

Ace will follow Yuu into hell, he just really wishes they would stop going there; run through fire, follow you into battle, you name a dangerous place he's there with mild complaining and only a few questions asked. Peak aceyuu is aware Ace supports his friends no matter what, and that Yuu is maybe the most important friend he has <3

Junoace au type of day!! The thoughts have been haunting me since last night.... Juno is a fairy that fell in love with a kitchen boy, so he wants to help him get to the ball!! For Ace he works at monstro lounge(being actual restaurant in this au) as a kitchen boy because I think for this circumstance it works better than mean parent and siblings hjgdjk (Bro has to work so he miss out son all the fun)

Im still thinking about Aces ball design but for now I do have Junos design in hand

For aces mouse buddies!! decided to use equestrian club guys to fill that role because juno would turn them into horses at some point hjdj

I know I’m always writing for Malleyuu, but I also really love Ace or Deuce x Yuu ships because I feel like it’s objectively hilarious that out of all the rich/famous/royal/talented people at the school, Yuu ends up with just some guy. Ace and Deuce are so normal. Like imagine being them and your competition for your best friend’s love is literally some 100 year old dragon fae top 5 most powerful in the world mage who is also the future ruler of an entire Kingdom. And Yuu still chooses one of them??

The thought is pretty sweet, that Yuu would choose to be with their best friend because they know/love them and don’t care about any of the others that might seem more impressive. Maybe I’m just a sucker for friends to lovers, but this kind of love where your boyfriend is also your best friend is very cute to me.
