A/N: All of my oneshots will be/are written with a fem reader in mind because I write my works self indulgently, however, if it’s requested I have no qualms writing the reader GN

Unless I’m writing a romantic work, there is so age in mind for the reader, however, romantic works will be written with an over 18 reader in mind （╹◡╹）

It’s that sort of day when the deep seated pain of having a metal coated skeleton sinks in, the way it rubs uncomfortably, the itch of his claws, waiting to pop out through his knuckles.

He shifts back into his recliner, waiting for the warmth of the cabin to sink into his bones, he smiles when he sees you toddle down the stairs.

“Da!”

“Hey sweetheart”

You continue to make your way over to his armchair, a bit wobbly, usually used to being carried over

“Sorry, Daddy’s having a bad day, I’m hurtin’”

You nod, crawling gently in his lap, suckling on a pacifier he had painstakingly decorated for you, a stuffed badger sitting in your lap

“S’ okay Da.”

You smile up at him, nudging the front of your pacifier into his bearded cheek to replace a kiss, he smiles back, pressing his own kiss to your forehead, cradling you into his chest, his muscles loosening at the warmth of you, he lets it seep into his bones, relishing in the feeling.

You shift slightly, turning to press your head into his neck, your arms wrapped around his shoulders

“Is it because of what the bad people did?”

He shuts his eyes, sighing deeply, he rubs a hand up your back, humming a low ‘yes’

“It’s okay to hurt Da.”

His breath hitches, he can feel tears prick at his eyelids

“I know, you’re too good for me honeybee.”

You squirm, winding your way out of his arms, there’s a furrow to your eyebrows, your head is cocked as you suckle angrily on your pacifier, you shake your head

“No”

You lisp, objecting his statement with a garbled ‘you deserve love, Da’

He squeezes your hand, turning you on his lap

“Why don’t you go get your toys? Play some while Da gets some shuteye, I’ll put cartoons on for you.”

You nod, stumbling off of the recliner, he jumps forward, steadying you

“Careful”

You nod, wobbly shuffling over to the set of rickety draws near his staircase, kneeling to shuffle through it. Logan thought it better to have most of your more played with toys and colouring books downstairs considering how much more time you spend on the lower level of the Cabin with him.

You can hear him shifting back into his seat, grunting as his spine cracks.

You shuffle through the colouring books and dolls, settling on a big box of duplo Logan managed to get for you, using Charles’ credit card as petty revenge for an argument he got into with the man.

You drag it over to the recliner, plopping down in the softly carpeted floor, quietly opening the tub of Lego in favour of not waking Logan up, relaxing at the sound of his snoring, losing yourself in the vibrant colours on the tv and the click clack of plastic.

It’s clear that it’s been a fair few hours since Logan fell asleep, the sky has grown purple and you’ve grown restless and hungry. You wobble over to Logan’s recliner, settling in his lap, cautious of startling the man, you gently wake him, carefully shaking his shoulder, calling his name until he stirs, grumbling sleepily.

He blinks at you tiredly, waking himself up, he cradles your head with his worn hand

“Mornin’ Bee”

You smile

“S afternoon Pa!”

He peers out the window, eyebrows raising

“Sure is, I haven’t slept that well in many years, thank you honeybee, my little painkiller”

You giggle, preening at his cooed praise, startling when your stomach rumbles angrily, He smiles, patting your belly

“Let’s go get some food in my baby, hmm? Sound good?”

You nod, letting him up off the recliner to shake off his stiff limbs, before he picks you up, painlessly.
